Proof of educational issues in the US

  1. This is how we know that our country is uneducated sheep.

  2. I was chatting with someone and they were telling me that a D- AKA a 60 was a passing grade. However, said person was saying they hadn't failed a class before. Now this is odd considering their cumulative GPA was a 2.2, roughly 55 in a 0-100 scale. The this person proceeds to say that that grade isn't failing, even though this grade is below her system of standards by "what her school says."

  3. cu.mulative should be an exception I am just saying

  4. Thats basically an F

  5. Wtf. 60 IS a failing grade. I've never had a failing grade because failing grades makes other people pity you, and give you shame.

  6. Bruh I got a 50 on my Math STAAR. I passed, yo

  7. Aren't I Smart or What?

  8. There's countless legit sources to support your statement that the US education system has major issues. But you've disappointed me with your "proof." There are many more solid arguments to be made.

  9. Should I go on to how multiple states provide less educational funding that they do for mino maintenance fees?

  10. Also, I realize that passing a STAAR test is an acomplishment, however, it just mean you get to the next grade, if you actually passed your classes. Now I am not assuming you are ignorant, but I am not assuming the ladder either.

  11. Yes look at funding, teacher to student ratios, parental involvement. Also our curriculum is designed to send you to school for 13 years and you come out with no marketable job skills. Doesn't that seem like a bit of an issue?

  12. Exactly, at least Texas takes some initiative in providing a start to marketable skills. However, you are incorrect in the aspect, there are a fewstates that are licensing certification for some minor specializations.

  13. After spending 10 minutes reading forum threads, do you really need any more proof of the educational system flaws?

  14. It must be diffrent in diffrent states. I live in Nevada and a 60 out of 100 is a D. 59 out of 100 is a F. At least when i was in high school it was.

  15. Not really, then again, some of it can be blamed upon laziness and immature attitude.

  16. U.S education system is flawed. My grades are so inflated at the moment. Had failing test grades in bio and ended up with 98. And the AP courses? Phew. 1.16 weighted. Getting a 90 gives you over a 100 average.

  17. 60 is a D in texas aswell, however, it is still considered a failing grade as a 70 is a passing grade

  18. A 59 (D-) is considered just barely passing, but still pitiable in Connecticut. I, however, consider anything less than an 85 (B) to be a miserable failure.
