I watched 'Catfish: The TV Show' for the first time yesterday and it really hooked me. For those that haven't watched it before, it's about men/women who have an online relationship with someone but for one reason or another, haven't met in person. The host helps the person who wrote in to the show by researching their internet 'love' and arrange a meeting for the first time. This usually ends badly as they find out it's been a scam and it ends in heart break. It's easy to judge watching the show but a lot of the victims seem very naive but you can't help really feeling sorry for them. As a person who's had a massively successful online relationship I just wondered if anyone has experienced a disastrous one and what happened? If not, just type in 'Catfish: The TV Show' in Youtube, it's worth a watch.
I don't usually feel any sort of emotion for people on TV shows but I genuinely feel for them. There are some right freaks on there pretending to be girls though haha
Is this TV show based on the movie documentary called Catfish? If you haven't seen that you should...

Yes it is. I believe the host of the TV show is the guy in the film/documentary. That is stupid believing someone's Bow Wow but I think most the time it's naivety. If they don't have loads of casual pictures on something like facebook or don't want to call/skype then my alarm bells would be ringing for sure.
I wonder how many of them are just made up for a tv show. Ive seen a heap if episodes and honestly how can some people be so stupid? Lol
Yeah, it does look a bit fake why not skype the person if your gonna have an "intimate relationship" online
I just started watching that TV Show. And yeah, I think it's a good show. There's just a bunch of fakers you meet everyday over the internet and its not really impossible to instantaneously fall in love or admire people you dont know specially if that person is a really good talker. Lying about their identity just to stablish a virtual relationship for some screwed up reasons or whatsoever. Anyway, cool TV SHOW , Thanks for sharingツ
It most likely is acted and 0 of it is true. Just like "My weird addiction". Who the hell would be addicted to eating their cremated husbands ashes?
The movie is better than the show. The show is purposely setting these events up to air them, just like all reality shows are rigged.
I like Catfish. I usually watch the beginning OnDemand and skip to the end. It's a half hour too long for me. I don't think I'd ever seek a relationship online. Some of these people have relationships for years with someone they've never met! Couldn't be me.
