A lot of people are raising questions, asking what is MH370. Well as some of you who have already seen the news, MH370 is a Malaysian Airlines flight which mysteriously disappeared. The flight had left from Subang Jaya, Malaysia at 12:21am, and was due to arrive at Beijing at 6:30am. However, Malaysia Airlines is still unable to establish any contact or determine the whereabouts of flight MH370. Earlier today, Subang ATC had lost contact with the aircraft at 2.40am. The last known position of MH370 before it disappeared off the radar was 065515 North (longitude) and 1033443 East (latitude) which is somewhere around Vietnam. Apparently, the plane had lost all contact and radar signal one minute before it entered Vietnam’s air traffic control. Malaysia Airlines said people from 14 nationalities were among the 227 passengers, including at least 152 Chinese, 38 Malaysians, 12 Indonesians, six Australians and three Americans. It also said a Chinese infant and an American infant were on board. There are many rumours going around now saying the plane has crashed and wreckage has been found. Malaysian Airlines has clarified that all these statements are untrue. The plane is still missing and it is out there. To get direct and accurate information, please follow Malaysian Airlines news itself. My heart and prayers goes out to all the families who are still waiting for them to come home, hopefully safely. And also to all those in the plane, that they are somehow out there, alive. We can never know, but the least we could do is say a little prayer. And another thing, I feel its saddening how some people on campus were complaining and making jokes saying its the government's fault and whatnot. It isn't a laughing matter, and this is not the time to bring politics in. You would not be laughing if someone you know, was aboard that plane. As I said, all we can do is unite and pray for the safety of the passengers.

UPDATE [9]: Vietnam air force planes spotted a 20km-long oil slick suspected to be from missing Malaysian jetliner. The VN Navy are trying to approach it, and may reach it by midnight Malaysian local time.
