Aparently there are some myths about regen out there. Here goes an old noobs attempt to clear them up. Regen for every player is unified at 60 min. Every 5 min you gain 1/12th of your strength. Simple right? Well when you get to the nuts and bolts of regen it is a lot more complicated than that. Each dorm mate/crew you have individually regen 1/12th of their total strength every 5 min. This is why when you add a new crew to an existing dorm, your regen to full is longer than 60 min. The rest of your crew might be full but the new one is still regening. On how to get around this, personally I take all my energy to 0 before I add a new crew. Now there is a catch here, if you open a new dorm the first crew you put in it comes with full energy. Now explain that to me? There are rumors that some crew or dorms regen faster than others, it is simply not true. Regen is always 60 min.
When I was a noob 11months ago and had t2's (ps don't judge me by my current stats, I was near 1m cs and recently reset. Please don't ask about that either) in my first 12 dorms (floor 1-6) my full regen only took about 30min from pin to be full again. Don't ask how or why, but I know what I experienced and was pretty shocked when it started taking longer.
