a wish slipped my lips

  1. Remember when you were little and you wished for your parents to disapear, or to be an only child. Never wanting anything to do with the family you have? Well for some what they wish for is not what they want.

And 16 year old Addy Cooper knows exactly how that feels.

  2. Chapter 1

    Dear diary,

Today starts off and this stupid cage of an orphanage. Sometimes I feel the walls pushing in, trapping me in the middle. No place to run or hide. I feel so empty and week my life is a horrible nightmare but my reality.

    Sincerely, Addy?

I sat up a little straighter on my bed, my hair hanging in a messy ponytail. I placed my diary on my little bed side table. I walked over to my dresser and picked out a pair of jeans and a sky blue yoga tank top. I perched myself on the window seat and stared out the mucky window. It had finaly stopped pouring and the thunder had gone away, the monster in the sky.

"Addy?" a voice said, "Are you up there?" I soon realized the voice was coming from the bottom of the stairs. It was Ms. Willow, the lady who runs the orphanage.

    "Yes." I called back.

    •••••••••••••••••••••••••••

". Mom I hate you!" I snarled, "leave me alone!"

"You leave me no choice!" she spat. She swung the door closed and turned the lock.

At that moment I wanted everyone gone and out of my hair. I through the sharp scissors at the lock. The door burst open. I ran down the hallway. I screamed for everyone. I ran around our house.
    No one.
    Everyone.
    Gone.

    •••••••••••••••••••••••••••

"Are you coming down to eat?" she asked, snapping me back to the present.

"Sure." I replied. I opened the old, creaky, wooden door. Then, ran down the stairs.

  3. Chapter 2
    Inhuman visitor.

I sat at the long oak table, lunch was being served. All the orphans were stuffing their faces. I slightly moved my food around still thinking about my family.

What happened to them that night? I thought as I moved my pees around.

"Knock, knock!" was coming from the door.

Everyone stayed seated not even noticing. That's odd. I decided to go answer the door when the "knock. Knock" came again

I slowly walked to the tall door. Grabbed the slippery handle and turned the nob. The creaky door slowly opened. A young girl same age as me appeared.

She had long brown hair deep green eyes and a long white dress. She was beautiful.

    "Can…can… I help you?" I muttered.

"No, it's what I can do for you." she wispered.

At that she grabbed my rist with her skinny white hand.

    "Come with me..." she said

She pulled me out the door leading the way. We walked down the path. She pulled me to a bright light.

    Everything disappeared.

    Should I write more?

  5. Chapter 3
    What is this place?

I awoke stairring at the bright blue sky. I sat up feeling dizzy. I felt my head feeling my auburn hair, and a big bump. Did I hit my head on something? I looked around seeing grass and more grass. I was in a long meadow. Nothing was out of place, it looked as if I was in a painting.

So many questions rattled in my head.

    "Good your awake!" She said

    "Who are you?" I replied.

"Sweetie," she said, "Don't you remember?"

"Umm" I said scratching my head, "am I supposed to?"

    "Yes!" she shrieked.

I sat there trying to remember anything.

"Look at me, really look at me." she whispered as if someone was watching her.

I sat there. My mind blank.

Then, suddenly I gasped for air.

I felt hands around my neck, chocking me. I reached for my neck. No hands holding me. I kept gasping for air. I staired at her she held a straight face, knowing what was going on. I tried to speak.

    "Don't you remember?" she asked

My mind jumbled. I jumped to my feet stairing her in the eyes. Still chocking.

    I ran.

I didn't know where I was going. I knew if I kept running I would get somewhere. Grass. Grass. Grass. Everywhere I looked. If I went left or right I would never be anywhere closer. Though, she didn't follow. I could barely see her anymore. I just kept running.

Until, I slipped on a small patch of wet grass. I began to sore through the air. I landed flat on the ground hurting everywhere.

Then, my head hit the ground. Thump.

    Everything went black.

  9. Chapter 4 (this is a flash back)
    More secrets

Where am I? I thought, I was standing at my old door at my old house. From the paint on the walls it was just weeks before my family disapeared.

"You have to tell your daughter!" my mom said to my dad.

"She won't believe me!" he got up from his desk, "it will put her life in danger!"

"We made her to protect Addy and Thomas!" she snapped.

What? Made? Protect? Danger? So many questions. I just stood there motion less. I tried to remember this day. I was lost in thought when I heard a slap on the desk.

"It's better than them finding out from Caitlyn!" my mom shrieked.

    "Who?" I whispered to myself.

"Caitlyn won't come near them as long as we're here!" he wrapped his hand around the knob on the chair, his eyes were deep, his face stern.

"What if something happens!" she grabbed his arm. "Sage wants her, they will stop at nothing!"

Sage? Caitlyn? My mind started to pound against my skull.

I couldn't listen anymore. I sat down on my bed. I tried to remember something, anything. My mind was blank.

Suddenly the wind thrashed against my window. When I was about to get up and close it a piece of beautiful brown hair blew by. I looked out the window trying to find someone. Nobody. Disappointed I turned away.

Something grabbed my hand and pulled my through. I skinny white hand.

    The rest was a blur.

  10. Chapter 5
    I remember you

I was very tired. I was trying to think of what my dream had meant, and when it had happened.

I stared up at the sky. I sat up yawning looking around.

    What's going on? I thought.

    "Good your awake!"

The voice made me jump something about it seemed so, farmiliar.

"No reason to be scared." at that I turned around looking up at her. She stood over me, studying me. I looked at my pants, they were covered in mud.

I tried to speak. To ask her who she was. No words would come. I opened my mouth then closed not finding the right words to say.

"Sweetie, please stop. You're shaking." she said.

I opened my mouth waiting for words. Why can't I talk, I asked myself. I wanted to speak. I was just to scared. I finaly found the words and I tried to ask.

    "W-ho...ar-e...y-you?" I mumbled.

"You really don't know?" she asked

I shook my head. My hair was blowing in my face and my stomach was soar.

"I can't exactly say..." she said.

    "W-why?" I replied.

    "Sweetie-"

"Stop calling me sweetie!" I interupted, "You're not my mother!"

"True," she said, "but I know more about you than your mother would ever know!" she shrieked.

"W-w-wh-what??" I was in shock. More than my mother. What?

"I was made to protect you!" she said. She stared at me waiting for me to understand. Finally I thought about my dream. What my mom had said stuck to my mind.

"We made her to protect them!"

    Suddenly, I knew her name.

    Caitlyn.

    A knew beginning.

    "Caitlyn?" I whispered.

"Sweetie, you remembered." she spoke soft an carefuly.

She bent down and wrapped her skinny white arms aroun me and hugged me close. Her long brown hair was blowing in my face. She then looked me in the eyes, her smile big.

"What is this place?" I asked.

    "You don't remember?"

    I shook my head.

"I can't tell you, the spirit gods would take me." she murmered.

    "What?" I asked.

"I'm a spirit." she said, "I was a spirit made to protect your soul, and your brother's."

I sat there waiting for her to continue.

"I come from a kingdom. Your kingdom." she looked me in the eyes and then continued. "Our kingdom is fighting against Sage and his army of spirits."

Sage? My mom had said Sage. And when I named my doll that she said change the name. Why?

"Sage is the evil spirit who tried to take you and your brother from your parents."

    "I didn't ask." I whispered.

"I'm your spirit. I can read your mind." she replied. "You are the answer to all Our problems."

She smiled at me her eyes bright. I couldn't help but smile back.

"Now let's get you to your kingdom!" she said, grabbing my hand. "I have someone I want you to see!"

At that she pulled me out of the field to a bright white light.

    Everything went away.

  17. Chapter 7
    I can't believe it's you!
I looked at a beautiful castle off of the coast. It was tall and had big stone walls with three look out towers. The roof went up into the sky.

    "Is this mine?" I asked.

"Yes, this is your castle" she answered.

She led me through the stone castle doors and up four flights of stairs. When I looked down we were floating and inch of the ground and hovering up the stairs.

We stopped at a long halway with tall oak doors like the ones in the orphanage.

At that I thought about Mss. Willow. Would she wonder where is was?

"Dont worry hours here are a couple of minutes in the real world." she said. "Forgot about the mind readin?"

    "Y-ya." I stuttered

    "Ready?" she asked

I nodded my head and with that she pushed the big door open. We stood in a big office like the one my dad had. The big book shelves, the brown desk an the leather chair.

    "Thomas?" Caitlyn asked.

"Yes." said a scruffy voice. It was coming from behind the big chair.

    "I found her." she said.

At that the chair turned around. A tall man with a scratchy beard. I recognized the chin and the beautiful blue eyes. "Thomas?" I said

"Addy?" he whispered. He got up and gave me a hug. He smiled at me his eyes filling with tears.

Thomas is my older brother. We always had a love-hate relationship. I haven't seen him since Thomas and my parents disappeared.

"Where did you find her?" he asked.

"At an orphanage near Valley View." she put her hand on my shoulder. She then, gestured for me to have a seat on one of the brown recliners. The chair was comfy. I rested my head on the head rest.

I listened to them talk about Sage and how they didn't know what happened to my parents.

Thomas told me "I was with Caitlyn when it happened. I heard screaming and I thought Sage was there. I ran to this land and prepared for the worst. A week later I came looking for you. I couldn't find you at home. We searched everywhere."

He explained "This is our kingdom. And Sage will do anything for our spirits."

"And we will have to prepare to go to war." Caitlyn continued.

War? I didn't sign up for this.
