  3. Chapter 2

The forest was a creepy place at night. Glowing pairs of eyes peeked out from trees. Every now and then, a fox or a squirrel or some other creature would skitter across the dirt path. The howling of wolves was carried through the air by a cold wind. Avion and Etzin had ridden for two days straight. Danny had gone ahead using his eye to find out more information on this Arical character. They had been silent the whole time, but Avion finally spoke up.
"What do you think's going on here, Etzin?" he asked. He was more worried than the others, knowing that the land HE was going to rule someday was in peril.
"I don't know, lad. But it must be big. I've never seen yer father act like that."
"Me either. He changed almost instantly when I told him of the orc's warning."
"I saw. That gives me the feeling that he knows a lot more than he's lettin' on."
    "Yeah... Same here."

A few hours later, the two of them arrived at the city of Hengys. It was a city almost as large as the capital, but more varied in culture. Everywhere you looked, you could see whole groups of different tribes from the realm. Avion and Etzin headed over to an inn where they were supposed to meet Danny.
As they waited outside, they watched a parade that was going through the middle of town. Dancers were spinning and whirling by the crowds that had gathered along the sides of the road. Ribbon twirlers were making loops and swirls of color. A man was riding a pure white horse, and he wore red robes and a hood that covered up the whole top half of his face. You could see a small goatee and a scar on his chin. Avion assumed he was a man of high political status, but other than a quick glance he paid him no mind. A group of flute players were passing by just as Danny appeared next to Etzin.

  6. This story is really good. 

  7. "What have ye got for us, Danny my boy?" Etzin asked when he saw Danny.
"I couldn't find out too much on the guy. He apparently keeps to himself except when he sees customers for fortunes and readings. He has a small shop situated in the merchant district, so I think we should go there first," Danny explained to them.
"Sounds good to me. After we are through with the sage, we can properly prepare for whatever it is that we are supposed to do," Avion said.

They wove through the crowds of the city, and the crowds stared as they passed by. Few of them had ever seen a soldier before, much less one of the king's paladins. The three ignored them, and continued toward the market district. They passed shops selling a wide variety of items, and banking stalls where patrons were meeting with clients. Danny led them to Arical's shop and they went in.

The entry room was dimly by a few candles. A large cred carpet was sprawled across the floor, and cushioned seats lined the walls. A silk curtain hung in a doorway, and paintings of valleys and mountains hung all around. A small desk sat in the corner of the room by the curtain, and a velvet seat was behind it. As the group got settled, Danny walked over to the desk and rapped his knuckles upon it three times. As he did this, an old man appeared out of nothing in the middle of the room. He looked at Avion and said, "Well what can I do for ya, young feller?"

  8. Thx bro and did u tell cookieluvah as well

  9. Don't forget to put me in this

  10. Dude if you keep bugging me about it I'm not going to. Seriously just be patient

  11. "We are looking for Arical the sage. Do you know him?" Avion asked.
"Why of course I do! I'm Arical! And to what do I owe the pleasure of your company?" the old man replied.
"We've come seeking aid for a journey. My father, the king, told me to seek you out. He said you would know what to do."
"And what did you say your name was?"
"I didn't. It's Avion. I am the prince of Sparc and a paladin in training."
Arical's eyes grew bigger than had the eyes of the king when he heard this. He sped back into the room behind the curtain. The group heard him talking to himself as he rattled around with papers and trinkets. Finally, he stuck a hand out of the curtain and gestured for them to follow him in. "Quickly now! We don't have much time!" he said in a darker tone. Avion, Etzin and Danny filed into the room and sat down at a large mahogany table. This room was lined with bookshelves , filled to the brim with volumes of various sizes. On one shelf was a display of alchemical instruments, and on another were piles and piles of scrolls.
"I had hoped I wouldn't be living the day this event came to pass. Avion, you have been given a great task. Your friends here will also play vital roles in the days to come," said Arical. He was fiddling with a coin and glancing back and forth between the three.
"Well my father made it quite clear that this is of utmost importance, but what the hell is it exactly?" Avion said anxiously.
"Ah, your father did not tell you? Very well, let me reiterate to you what the Kingdom of Sparc has feared for centuries..."

  13. Dont worry danzo! I'll have the next one up within an hour!

  14. Arical began his tale:

"Over a millennia ago, Sparc was ruled by a king, called Pain, who wielded magical powers. But he delved into the dark arts and in the end it tore him apart. His soul was ripped to shreads and he became a shadow of his former self. The kingdom began to crumble as he went on a rampage, raising an army of undead warriors and recruiting every evil creature from around the realm to do his bidding. A great hero named Phoenix took up the challenge and fought the army for ten days and ten nights without food or rest. On the eleventh day, he and Phoenix met in a titanic battle that lasted for several hours. In the end, Phoenix opened a fissure into the earth and sent Hadrius plunging into the core of the planet. He then cast a binding spell that sacrificed his body and soul to chain Hadrius there forever."
