In response, The reason we have an army is to protect the country as a whole from foreign invaders from stepping onto American soil. You think everyone on earth is happy and likes rainbows? Well they don't. There are terrorists who wish to see us burn to ashes, and it's the armies job to find, investigate, and destroy everything and everyone that threatens our country. Now onto the peace keepers at home. These people are known as the police, they are a scaled down VERY underdeveloped version of the army. The police use methods less harsh than the army. They keep law and order here at home so that we can all wake up in the morning NOT to see a stranger with a kitchen knife in his hand. Finally, if the police and the army were to merge, then it would have looked something like that batman movie where the army rounded up all the Jews and sent them to camps in an effort to find ONE terrorist.
If u wish to protect ur family and all that u care about, u must first be able to take a bullet in the name of keeping them safe so people from a foreign land can't hurt them
I think it's also important to point out that not all terrorist are foreign. People seem to forget sometimes that acts against the US come from within also. It is at that point other agencies become involved and work together to protect not only American citizens but also other in over individuals. However, no one is perfect and such sad and sometimes disturbing things happen.
I think.. (not reading 24 pages of original thread) her question wasn't really why each country has their own military army's etc but why army's as a whole are made and why we allow officials to dictate what we do. Had the officials of each retrospective country fought their owns fights and arguments less lives would be lost and armies .. military forces would no longer be necessary .. I THINK that's what she's trying to say. In saying that I agree in small part about people in authority and the abuse they do in those positions wether we voted them in or not.. however.. I disagree with the rest
