What Is The Immunity Project? The Immunity Project is a non-profit team of scientists and entrepreneurs based in the San Francisco Bay Area that's dedicated to developing a safe, portable HIV vaccine. Immunity Project wants to give the vaccine away to the world for FREE—and we want to help them. That's why from Saturday February 1st, 12:00am GMT to Monday February 3rd, 12:00am GMT, all proceeds from Doctors Notes will be donated to the Immunity Project. Those who participate will receive a badge in recognition of their support Why Is ATA Donating to This Cause? ATA was originally funded by Y Combinator, the same investor backing The Immunity Project. We believe strongly in the people behind these teams, and we believe this initiative can make a big difference to many people around the world. I Have More Questions! I'll look into the Form 990 if available before donating. hopefully ATA won't be selling donor registry names from this. I donate to doctors without borders.. But I want all financial information before donating to a start-up pharma company.
Couldn't find a form 990 online for this 501c organization. Just saying. Interesting find though: what is "Hacker Culture"? athinkingape.com/about Hacker Culture- "We find innovative ways to get things done" "Our team seeks out innovative solutions to complex problems, and maintains strong ties to our hacker culture." You do know there's a US government war against hackers, right?
We definitely encourage everyone to do their own research into the project, its goals, and it's progress so far. The company has an ambitious goal and has received support from several large groups including Until There's A Cure, Y Combinator and Microsoft Research so far. For those after more information, please do check out the links in our first post. As well, their White Paper containing their research and approach to date can be downloaded here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/702 ... 0Paper.pdf
There's a difference between hacking to damage people's software and hacking to explore and expand the possibilities of things to find innovative ways to do things. It isn't really hacking like you think it is though ATA's hacker culture isn't the bad kind of hacking I'm sure.
