I would've thrown the key on the counter as well. in order to receive respect no matter age you must be willing to give it. just because you reach a certain age doesn't mean you automatically get respect. throwing something at someone is rude and disrespectful. I've learned that dealing with older people can be very difficult. I had to interview this old very old lady last night that had been arrested in an effort to see if I could help her get a bond/bail reduction or released without paying anything since it was her first arrest. her attitude was horrible. my coworkers were like wow you have patience. eventually I had to tell her that she wasn't going to keep disrespecting me. I wasn't the one trying to pawn myself, she was. I then told her that she had 2 options-answer my questions respectful or get up from my interviewing space. she chose the first option but was still nasty so the interview was terminated. here it is another night at work and she's still sitting behind bars. it sucks to be her right now.
I would of just told her You throwed the keys at me so I throw them at you What comes around goes around
I have volunteered at a nursing center for almost three years now and I can tell you that not all old people are rude. However, they do have their moments. As far as this incident goes, I like the idea someone commented about giving the keys back and telling them not to throw things at you. I think it sucks what some of you have to deal with. I personally am respectful when I go to restaurants and hotels and when dealing with people in general...so if I go to your work place expect a tip from me ️
