Unthinkable Alliance

*wants to make Dan a pirate*......Nah, it would be too weird 

Sen Lei tumbled backwards, always the klutz. He jolted up and unheated his two katanas, taking his fighting stance. He stood kind of awkward, though. His feet were touching, and he was knock kneed so it looked strange when he readied himself for battle. He glanced over at Dan, who had also readied himself, buy with one katana in hand. Len Sei eyed him curiously.

Dan noticed, and commented, "Better chance of landing a hit if you only have to focus on one blade." Sen smiled, and looked back toward the creatures. They were advancing slowly, almost as if they were giving the team time to prepare. Then Sei looked a few feet in front of the beasts. Leena was desperately trying to crawl away. She had been closest to the explosion. Monair was two steps ahead of Sen Lei, however, and was already charging towards Leena. Pirates stick together, I guess. I sure hope Dan has my back if anything happens to me! Can't count on those barbarians to help anyone else but their own. Sen Lei thought to himself. As he snapped out of thought he realized something, there seemed to be some thing distorting the air around the creatures. A second later, it was over to Leena, right before Monair got to her. It had been one of the creatures, lightning fast. He swatted Monair away before he even realized someone was in front of him.

"Leena!" He yelled as he soared through the air. His head Connected with the wall, and he blacked out. The creature stood over Leena and stared at Sen Lei and Dan, as if he was testing us. Were we strong enough to save this girl's life?

Dan looked back at Sen Lei, who had a worried look on his face, and nodded. Then he charged towards the speed demon, Sen Lei not far behind.

 

I'll try. No guarentees but I may find a space.

 

Dan was the first to make contact, well, let's say the alien was the first to make contact, because before he had a chance to strike the monster looming above Leena another, who'd suddenly sped up, was behind Dan, holding his katana. Dan twisted around and attempted to kick the alien, but the the creature grabbed his leg and threw him up in the air. But for some reason, he stayed there.

"A little help here!" He yelled down to Sen Lei, who was the only one of the four still standing. Sen Lei nodded and looked over. Past the alien who now had Leena slung over his shoulder, there was a different creature. It's head was bigger than the rest, and instead of wearing rags for clothes it wore a robe. A book in his hand. It was chanting something and making weird movements with his free hand. A blue light was emitted from his palm, following it's hand where It moved.

Len Sei ran directly towards him. He made it there effortlessly, as if the aliens wanted him to get there. He slashed the monster clean through it's head, purple blood splattering the wall behind him. Suddenly Dan fell to the ground. The alien that had Leena dropped her. The aliens backed to the same crack from which they entered, and dropped a note on the ground.

A portal began to open behind them, but before they left one of the creatures looked over. A girl with short brown hair was trembling in the corner. The alien, who seemed to be the leader of the small group, ran at the girl. "Help!" She screamed like bloody murder. Len Sei ran towards the crack. All he could do was watch. She had tried to get up, but her leg was broken and she tumbled to the ground, unable to support herself. The alien scooped her up. She made a pitiful attempt to fight back, punching the alien's face, but to no effect. The alien's skin was too tough to injure with fists.

She screamed once more. It didn't matter, though. This town in particular had already been frozen in time, besides these special few. Len Sei winced when the scream reached his ears. It took all his will power not to chase after her, even if it meant his death. They shouldn't leave another human to parish. But he knew, as well as everyone else there, those monsters could easily kill them if they wanted to.

"We'll help you...Somehow," Len Sei whispered.

 

Leena, who had her arm around Dan, for support, tried to speak, but all that came put was a cough, blood splattering all over his shirt.

"Man!" He yelped. "This is my first time wearing this shirt!" Leena frowned and hugged Dan, a silent apology, the only available way she could do it. But she didn't mind not being able to talk, she liked the hug.

Monair woke up with Len Sei at his side. Len Sei held out a glass of water, waiting for Monair to accept. "Here," he mumbled. He seemed kind of distant. Monair accepted the water, and looked over to Leena and Dan, who were still hugging. Dan looked back and met eyes with Monair. The cold glare was enough for Dan to remove himself from Leena, only allowing her to use him as support. His cheecks turned a deep red. Sorry! he mouthed toward Monair. He just cleared his throat and shook his head in anger. It wasnt that hard to tell that Monair had a crush, and Dan figured he didn't want a knife to the throat tonight.

"So," Len Sei started, "let's see what that note says." Dan, along with Leena, made thier way over to a nearby couch. Monair sat upright.

Len Sei began,"Humans,
If you're reading this, be thankful for your life. You know as well as I do that you've been allowed to live, and the dangers that you will face. Look outside, there will be a purple light shining down from above. That is your next destination.
Pitiful humans, remember, you're on a schedule. Do not disappoint."

They all stood, Leena had regained enough strength from her rest that she could stand, and walk, slowly of course. They walked over to the huge hole in the wall, and looked up. Surely enough, there was a purple light.

It was 5 miles away, at the original battlefield that this all started on.

A scream, just barely audible, was heard from that direction.
