The title is my main arguement. There are so many misconceptions in the game that confuse so many people it is laughable. And when I read the comments in forums, walls or Campus chat many of them are based off of false ideas or just ideas that people assume. I want to go over just a few of them, for I am tired of seeing the many agruements and I would like to see some intelligence in PimD players once again. It is a rare trait I find and it is hard to find people who try to understand parts of Party in my Dorm without having to read it. I am talking about the people who experiment with the game and figure out the mechanics without having to be told. This can range to doing calculations about the game like I do or experiencing it first hand ( again I did that) as well as experiencing through wars, volleying others, helping others, etc. So now lets get started with the misconceptions: 1) PimD is a roleplay game which directly implies people to ask role play of one another. I have seen this excuse many times from inexperienced and experienced players alike. But what does it mean to roleplay? I think that both genre if players only ever think of role play as when you intentionally act as someone you are not with the use of symbols around words. For Example: * Eats a churro* But that is not necessarily what the developers really mean when they created the game to be a role play game. What they truly mean is this: you select an avatar and choose a username. In choosing an avatar and username you are almost immediately doing role play in playing the game itself. By playing the game I mean battles, jobs, hiring, warring, and even conversing. I know there might be people who object what I say. " But I am still typing as I normally would and people call me by my name etc , etc." The way I see it is not everyone looks exactly like their avatars. And I highly doubt that Reign_Kingdom would be someone's name in real life. And I doubt that anyone looks 100% identical with their avatar with the game exact personality description. If you do... all the power to you, but unless your username spells out your legal name in real life it is still role play. Same goes to hiring, battling, warring... it says Frodo_dopo ( for example) hired your tutor, not William Harrison. So that is what the developers intended on making this a role play game, not for people to use it to act like Michael Meyers. 2) All roleplay is bad This is another misconception that many people believe in. Almost like the domino effect. One way leads to the other kind of scenario. That is not necassarily true because not all people who ask to role play are perverts as they are called out to be. Some people just like to use their imagination to act like Edward Scissor Hands or some weird singer in the Alphs for all we care. Sure they may be more vulnerable and easy to fall into " the dark side" ( aka sexting) but it is completely up to the person's values and we should accept that just because someone wants to text another to pretend they are walrus', it does not necessarily make it bad, not them. 3) Third Party App users are perverts Yet another misconception maybe linked to the belief that the only reason people drag one another to another app is to do gross things in private message. I do not deny there are too many people who do try to do that but not all people do it. Besides those ... beings... there are sometimes people who are simply obssessed with making friends online. My older brother may have it, and it just gives people the connection they need to make them feel secure with their social well being. Another use may just be for talking. Some people may not like how Party in my Dorm does not allow us to send pictures of their things like pets, gadgets, and food ( as examples) over private message. 4) Vollies I want to keep this short and simpler than the other passages. Volleying is only a good starter for new players of the game. It does not help a player to be hired after maybe the price of 500 mil. The reason being is the price of a tutor increases 5% per hire so using my example of 500 mil. It would be by guess 10-12 hires between a tutor being worth 500 mil and 1 bil. A newer player may think "great, that 12 mil will help me upgrade a lot". But in reality you would then need nearly 160-190 mil to upgrade and replace dorm mates to be of the correct stats of the price of 1 bil. So you get 12 mil vs the 190 mil tnat you need. That is almost 17 mil that you need per hire to get the proper upgade when you only het 1 per hire. So hopefully this proves a point I was making. When wanting to be hired you must meet a demand in your stats, being vollied only takes someone so far, that distance being so small. Being hired is not the best way to grow. What should be done is ask campus chat for a farm your size or better yet to teach you how to find inactives to farm. Or to do wars and parties to increase revenue ( money). 5) KCS Since I see so many new players misuse it I"ll give a small description of it here. K stands for Kilo, and as a prefex means thousand, so if you add a k next to a measurement it means you multiply by 1000 to get the true value of at least a rough estimate of the value. CS- This means combined stats. Your stats are easily found on your profile. They are the numbers that are next to the following: Bonus Strength to Pupil and Bonus Intelligence to pupil Those are your stats, combine (add) them and you will get combined stats. 6) Following players Following players may seem important to many people. To make friends and such. But the way I see it is over 80% of people on a list will rarely be talked to on occassion. Having followers does not necessarily mean someone is strong it means a few things: 1) They have not cleared their list in a while 2) They ignorantly follow anyone they want or 3) Person can be absorbed in wanting more and more friends and as I described about earlier about third party app advertisers, the people just want security in social well being. Following players does not really do anything for a person unless you become friends with them and talk to the persons over time. Other than the case that you'd ask a stranger to to help you in a party or war ( tons of them are highly likely to decline) the point of following other players is nearly pointless. 7) Tutor bonuses There are two tutor bonuses. And both affect how you make money in battling. There is a cash bonus and a tutor base bonus. The cash bonus is what happens when you get money for owning a tutor when you battle. For example. If I had no tutors at all, and I battled a VIP and won I might get around 40 mil first hit. As opposed to me having a 100 bil tutor, and I attack the same person I would make 70-80 mil first hit. See the difference? The cash bonus is mainly depending on the amount of money you invest in your tutors . Also the cash bonus " maxes out" based off of your stats and the money you invest. The higher your stats are then the more you should invest. Tutor base bonus is what is refered to as TB. It is when you add up all the statd of your tutors you hsve hired ( already added for you at thr bottom of your profile). As important as people may make it seem ... * ahem* what happens with that bonus from what I have observed is only a small portion of it is added to your stats for battle and defense. It is only useful in wars and nowhere else really. And the worst part is it can actually decrease your cash bonus. So say you and someone you are farming are the same stats and your bonus is astronomically bigger than your opponent, then you will make less money than if you were closer to his tutor bonus. It is almost as if you when you farm inactives and as you get bigger than them you make less money from them, same effect. Happened to me when I was T4BC. Thats all of what I can think of at the moment. I hope everyone enjoys the read. ( this is a repost, the old one got old) ? The-Wise-Master-Dragon-Dan ? ? The-Wise-Master-Phoenix-Gonzo ? AND The-Wise-God-Of-The-Sun-Apollo THE ORIGINAL Gonzo1993
I read it at a more moderate pace and I would still probably manage get as much information as someone who has read it slow and steady
That was beautiful. The follower thing may be the reason I only have like 15 people in my friends list xD Thank you for this Guide^
Kristi is back on the forums FAKE And gonzo, well said I see people ask for Slug Rp Spit, you usually don't read threads do you?
Wtf man this is too long -.- it's like a woman's skirt if A WOMANS SKIRT IS TOO LONG THEN YOU ARE UNABLE TO SEE THOSE SEXY LEGS, so there's nothing interesting TO SEE OTHER THANA LONG ASS SKIRT
I think what most people mean by #1 is basically "you play your way, they play their way" But everything else I agree with.
