ATA can't be expected to donate every time a disaster strikes. Otherwise, they'll ultimately lose money and this game will be shut down. Yes, the tornados are a tragedy, and yes, it was nice of ATA to donate, but you can't just treat ATA like your quick charity. There are so many other better-suited charities. I mean no disrespect to Illinois and the other areas affected by the tornados.
First off Im truly sorry for those living through this but people are homeless all over the world not just the ones affected by natural disasters. America are capable of raising money and ATA isn't a charity. As Andy pointed out if they help every tragedy they will go bust. Just donate to Red Cross yourself, surely you don't need free dn to give a little money.
Aris you contradict yourself in a way. You say we'd rather go see the money go to a game rather then help the affected people but really you come in here to PIMD forums which I remind you it's a game, and expect us to donate money, instead of actually doing something and donating elsewhere. I'm not trying to be rude but like everyone is saying ATA is not a charity and it was nice enough of them to help the Philippines already. I'm sorry and I feel for the affected people but if you actually want to help there's other ways to help. Try donating online to other charities. Have a nice day.
Ill. was not the only place slammed w/ tornados. Do you plan on being up on the soapbox for Indiana as well. Or do you only care about the places you know. Yes it is great to want a company to run out for all of mother natures wrath. But that is not realistic. My family and friends were touched by Sundays storms. But it is not ata's responsiblity to save the world. Instead ask ppl to donate clothes, food, water etc. to the red cross or others that can get things to ALL the ppl in need.
To the the op... I don't see your philippines donation award. Im not saying the people affected by the past weekends tornados dont need help, but you've got to practice what you preach.
Lots of disasters strike America all the time and no disrespect to those who lost homes but people should just donate directly if they would like... There was no relief fund for hurricane sandy where more people lost homes and lives then the recent tornado strike on Illinois. America is capable of handling their own shit. And in all honesty the disaster comparison of the tornados in Illinois or what happened with the tsunami the tsunami victims are way more affected. And no disrespect intended at all as my aunt lost her home in the tornado but the tsunami was much much much worse.
Both sides of this argument have validity, and as others have already said, a tragedy is a tragedy, and it's awful to see so much suffering. That said, the US is more capable and prepared for this sort of tragic event. Filipinos affected by the typhoon didn't even have enough emergency service workers to move those that had lost their lives It's unfortunate that anyone died in the tornadoes, but 5 deaths compared to 4000 is quite a significant difference. Yes, they lost their homes, but so did those affected by the typhoon. Its difficult to talk about this without appearing to be biased or unsympathetic, but I do have utmost respect and heartfelt sympathies to all involved in both events. I just feel this request was lacking a little perspective
Lol they'd be donating every day. Tragedies happen every day. Why dont you ask them to donate to Africa instead? Lots of countries there have been a tragedy for years. Why don't you think about that? Tons of children die every day. Why don't you make a thread about that? Tons of other countries have way more tragedies than the US. They'd be donating every single second if that were the case.
Lots of my family and friends had been affected by thid on Sunday. Thanks to everyone helping. It means alot.
What is with this kick about US is capable of handling his own? Because US can "handle their own" does that mean they don't need help. Always just be real, US tends to help others far more than their own. There are still people trying to recover from Hurricane Katrina, and that happened about 9 years ago. I understand that AtA is a game and not a donation or charity site. There's no need to beat the op over the head. it all comes down to presentation and the presenter. AtA is making lots of money from purchases so I'm sure they have the means to invest in their game. Also keep in mind, Pimd and KAW communities made the disaster relief fund a success. Without generous donors, the event would've flopped. we as people must realize that we always want help for what is close to us. Just from reading some comments, it's safe to say that many feel that if you're American n a tragedy striked your homeland, others shouldn't help. what happens when America wakes up one morning and decides to stop helping others. People be mindful of the things you say. Anyway, carry-on.
ARE YOU UNDERESTIMATING THE GREATEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD??!!! OH HELLL NAH well, it's ata's money anyways, they can go ahead and do whatever the fuck they want with it, they can donate it all, or use it to update the game. None of our opinions matter when it comes to that lol I guess.
Lastly, a tragedy is a tragedy. 1 life lost is horrible. Tragedies should not be measured. At gars like saying one isn't important because only 4 people died compared to 25. They are equally devastating as someone lost their life or love one. Have a great day or night
How many people died? How many people died in Ph? Do you know what the big deal is with the two fundraiser are compared to other disasters around the world in the time? Japan and PH had thousands of lives lost, and huge damage done, where others only had a few deaths and a lot less damage. Look at those two major things compared to the smaller ones like this tornado, which one needs the money more? Who needs the more help? Why do it for a small loss? What about all the other small losses? If ATA did this all the time they would be broke, and pimd would be shut down.
