  1. Everyone's heard the tales of gods..

The love that had no bounds..

    Sometimes others weren't as lucky..

But we still fight while we can.

Lilith sat impatiently in front of her mother. Her eyes drifting over the pages of the big worn out book in her lap. Her mind wandered to the details of the story. It all still amazed her, no matter how many times she had read it.

" Momma! Is it possible to go through such tragedies just to have that one person you love the most? ", She asked in air of persistence.

Judith chuckled in amusement, " My sweet love, anything is possible. Especially when you fall in love. One day, you'll see what all the stories about. ", She replied softly and continued on to brush her daughter's waist length blonde hair.

" But what if it never comes momma? Then I'll be alone, talking to the spirits and telling wild tales like Aunt June! ", She exclaimed with a huff, her fingers tracing a drawing in the book.

Her mother smiled and went on brushing her hair, " There is no need to worry my darling. It will come in time. You will never be alone, I promise. Your destiny has yet to shift in to gear. ", She whispered softly by her ear.

Lilith bit her lip lightly and tilted her head alittle. Her hazel blue eyes, glancing over the stars and moon painted on her porcelain ceiling. A small smile crept up over her lips. A love that would stop all time, just for her.

Her mother ceased brushing her hair and ushered her in to bed, " Come along darling, you must get your rest. We have a big day tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day you get to pick out a dress for the grande ball. ", She said to her excitedly, and pulled the soft gold sheets over her daughter.

She worried her lip slightly and looked up at her mother's caring blue eyes, " Momma, do I have to wear a dress? Those things are so tight and dreadful! I can't believe a girl hasn't suffocated from them yet. ", She grumbled in distress and let out a small yawn.

Judith grinned and softly giggled at her daughter, " Love, it all depends on what kind of dress it is. But for now, don't worry and sleep. Sweet dreams my darling, may the angels watch over you. ", She said gently and kissed her forehead.

Lilith watched her mother leave her large white painted room. The door was left open just a little, but she was bathed in darkness now. The stars and butterflies, painted on the opposite side of the room. Hardly visible to her now.

She sighed and moved her gaze to the ceiling. Her body relaxed as her mind wandered to the stars and moon. They were the only things that put her at ease. She never feared as long as they remained near her.

For a small goddess such as herself. She still feared things, though her mother assured her it would be okay.

She spoke softly to herself, " I wonder..if their is a magnificent prince waiting on the moon. Ha ha..how silly of me..", She giggled and closed her eyes slowly. She would dream of another world, another time and place.

A place where even her mother had no idea existed. She would keep it all locked away sacredly in her heart.

Judith got up the next morning, just as the sun was about to rise. The light rays would cast a beautiful yellow glow on the palace. Lightning up the crystals hanging around a certain little girls's room.

She paced calmly and quietly to her daughter's room. A soft humming escaping her as she walked. To her surprise, the door was closed,

" Lilth? Sweetheart? ", She called gently from the door. With no answer, she turned the door knob and went in. Her curiosity getting the better of her.

The bed was unmade, sheets folded down in a hurry. Slippers missing and no sign of the blonde.

Her mother tied her long blonde hair back and quickly ran for the gardens out back. She would find her daughter minutes later. Sitting in the dirt, planting a beautiful white lily.

" Lilth lyn! You nearly gave me a fright! What on earth are you doing up so early? And out here by yourself, nonetheless?! ", Her mother cried out and moved to her daughter's side in urgency.

Lilth grimaced at her mother's scolding tone. Her fingers working to make sure the flower was properly planted. She stepped away and looked down at the ground.

" I didn't mean to worry you momma! Honest! I just had a wonderful dream and had a desire to plant this flower. Perhaps maybe the angels will visit and take a look? ", She said softly with her gaze still down casted.

Judith sighed heavily and took her daughter's hand, " Don't ever scare me like that again. ", She said and glanced over at the new flower, " It is quite beautiful. The angels will love it, dear. For now, come inside and get cleaned up for breakfast. "

Lilth took one last glance at the lily and followed her mother inside. It took a good thirty minutes bath, scrubbing down her hands and all. Then she was seated at the table with her mother and aunt June.

Aunt June blew a ring of smoke from her mouth, " Dear sister, give her room to play and run. She can't disappear with so many people around. Besides, she's a child with spirit. She needs room to be her own person! ", She chided and shook her head.

Judith arched an eyebrow, " June, she's my daughter and I know very well of her spirit. That's what worries me. And when it's not her, it's you. So please cut me some slack. ", She replied quickly and began filling their plates with eggs and pancakes.

Lilth made a face at the eggs and slowly ate her pancakes. Her mother frowned in disapproval, " Sweetheart, eat your eggs before they get cold. "

" I don't like them momma, and neither does my friend. Eggs are unborn chickens and I don't think that's healthy to be putting in my stomach. "

" What friend may this be? I don't recall you ever mentioning a friend. And eggs are a healthy part of everyone's diet. ", Judith responded with a frown.

June smiled with delight, " Have you made a faerie friend, my love? They have spoken to you? "

Lilth raised her gaze slowly to her aunt, " No auntie, he's the boy from the moon. He's so nice to me, he even played with me in the gardens in my dreams. I wish he were real. ", She mumbled the last part with a slight pout.

Aunt June grinned, " A boy from the moon? How lovely! Moon people are quite sweet, some aren't however but most are. Ah, young love! "

Judith frowned at her sister, " Sister, please! Don't fill her head with any of that non sense. I want her to focus on what is real and not fantasy. Besides..we haven't seen them in many years now. "

June shrugged her shoulders and smiled at her niece, " Judith, relax, a little day dreaming is good for the soul. Keeps the bludens away from bringing darkness in to your mind. "

Her sister shook her head in amazement at her strawberry blonde sister with light brown eyes, " Otherwise we'll all end up with the crazy syndrome. You know well about that, June. "

June stuck out her tongue at Judith and shared a laugh with Lilth, " One day dear, you bring him to meet us, hmm? I bet he's quite a young gentleman. "

Lilth smiled at her aunt and began eating more quicker. They had to go dress shopping soon after. Something she had a distaste for. Give the girl regular clothes and she'd play all day.

Lee awoke from his dreams with a smile on his face. He stretched out slowly and then made his way to get bathed and dressed. His parents met him at the long wooden table.

The deep cherry wood color of the table. Set off the rich shimmering whites of the walls. Even caused the chandelier to glitter happily in response.

He took a seat next to his mother. One who became more beautiful with age. Her shoulder blade length light brown hair, flowing around he shoulders. She smiled at her son and took another bite of her omelet.

His father grumbled something and scratched his head. His dark brown hair, set off the deep thoughtfulness in his brown eyes. He sipped his hot coffee and went about eating his bacon.

Lee dug in to his food, hoping to get done early enough to go out. He didn't want to listen to another lecture from his father. Always about the same thing. Him not taking his duties as a prince, more seriously.

Alana slipped in to the room with a skip, " Good morning daddy! Morning mother! ", She chided in excitement and took a seat opposite of her brother and mother.

She smirked at her brother, " Good morning snoozer. ", She snickered as her brother rolled his eyes, " Daddy! Today is the day to get a fancy dress right? Can we go after breakfast? Oh please please! "

Her father glanced over and chuckled, " Anything you want my little princess. We'll go after breakfast is done. Just try to behave this time? ", He remarked with a grin.

" Always daddy! Promise! ", She exclaimed excitedly and smirked at her brother. She slowly chewed her food that was served to her. Dishes made of the finest china. Rugs weaved out of the softest material.

Lee watched his sister twirl a lock, of her honey brown hair around her fore finger. Her green eyes wandering the light orange walls of the castle. He ran a hand through his unruly brown hair and sighed.

Great. A shopping day with mother and sister. Perhaps he could get out of that too.

An hour after breakfast, he was forced to go with his mother and sister. To listen to them ogle at the pretty designed dresses. All fit for a beautiful princess. Or a majestic goddess in another world.

He leaned against the wall near a rack of dresses. Ignoring his mother asking him to make an opinion. All the dresses were beautiful. What difference did it make?

Alana held up a long purple dress, made of fine silk. A glimmering see through blue sheath covered the bottom half of the dress. Strapless dress that stopped just before touching the ground.

She squeezed the dress to her, " Mother! I absolutely adore this one! ", She exclaimed and beamed as her mother coo her appreciation.

Lee moved his gaze away. Searching for something to distract him. That is until he saw a head of blonde hair catch his eye. Not just any blonde either, shiny light strands of blonde hair.

Only one he had seen in his dreams.

    He bolted forward to follow.

Lilth walked a good distance behind her mother and aunt. Ignoring their excitement over every dress that caught their eye. She groaned in dismay, " Why do we have to wear dresses? There should be a law that forbids it. "

A warm feeling tingled up her back. She turned slowly around to glance behind. She saw nothing, which confused her. She knew she felt another presence near. Turning on her heel, she snuck around the corner and waited.

Just as she went to grab the follower. The said person bumped right in to her. She squeaked as she fell over on to him. He grimaced while bracing them for the fall.

Lilth opened her blue gray eyes slowly and glanced at him. Her face turned several shades of red before getting off him. He chuckled nervously and blushed.

She waited as he got up, crossing her arms, " You were following me! ", She stated in a feisty tone.

Lee cringed, " Only because you look like someone I know. I do apologize, I didn't mean to scare you. "

Lilth bit her lip and took the time to gaze over him. He too, looked quite familiar, " As do you..have we met before? "

" I do not believe so. My name is Lee, and yours may I ask? "

" Lilth. ", She replied curtly and gazed in to his eyes. So familiar and yet she couldn't place where she'd seen him before.

Just as she reached out to touch his cheek. Her mother called out her name. She gasped softly and blushed. Then turned to reply to her mother. As she turned back around, he was gone.

She frowned and looked around, " Lee? Lee! How could he just..disappear like that..", She said and slowly moved to return to her mother's side.

Lee took a deep breath and glanced around the corner. The girl he was talking to, left quietly. He slowly released the breath he didn't realize he was holding. His mother called out his name. Causing him to walk back to the store.

Thoughts of one another on their little eight year old minds.

Alana twirled happily in her new ball gown dress. She returned home shortly after the sale. Her mother holding light conversation with her. Lee quietly walked a little ways behind them.

Her hair pulled up in a bun. A few curls escaping to frame her face. Green eyes standing out, with the light pink eyeshadow painted on her eye lids.

She sighed softly and gazed at her reflection in the mirror. The dress hugged her small waist, and flared out afterwards to hide her feet. She paired the dress off with violet closed toe heels. A light purple bow tied around the bun.

Her mother slipped in to the room. A gasp escaped her, " My! How beautiful you look my darling! ", She exclaimed and moved to stand beside her daughter.

Alana smiled at her mother's reflection in the mirror, " Mother, you look quite beautiful yourself. Has father seen you yet? "

The queen blushes slightly and brought out a small black pouch. She pulled out a rectangular thin box. It was snapped open quickly and a brush produced.

Alana blinked in surprise, watching her mother apply a light blush to her cheeks. She smiled again and adjusted the gorgeous emerald hanging on her necklace.

Once her mother was satisfied. She put the make up away and led her daughter out of the room and down the hall. Their footsteps quickened in haste.

She took the time to study her mother. Her mother's shoulder length brown hair curled around her face. Pretty eyes painted with a light blue hue. High cheek bones also lightly daunted with blush.

The beautiful queen donned a shimmering blue dress that flowed past her. It held just barely on the shoulders. Her crown shining brilliantly on her head. Rubies and diamonds glittered on her fingers and about her neck.

She was a sight to be seen. Her mother was one of the most beautifulest queens she had ever laid eyes upon. A giggle bubbled out of her while they headed towards the grande ball room.

Maids and servants rushed about in black and white outfits. Some servants carrying empty silver trays, and others balancing drinks and treats.

She felt her hand being grabbed, and looked up. Her mother smiled at her and led her out to the ball room. Immediately taking her proper place in her throne. Her father sat upright with a proud expression. His suit similar color to her mother's. Crown displayed in all it's glory on his head.

She glanced over at the throngs of people chattering amongst themselves. Her brother stood off to the side. He refused to make eye contact with the girls staring at him.

Lee grumbled and took a step further towards a wide window. The draperies a beautiful crimson, hanging off to the sides of each window. He sighed and looked down at his shiny black dress shoes.

He wasn't comfortable, he hated dances and he wanted to sneak out. Never understanding why his parents threw the parties. Though he had an idea why.

His father would want him to take over the throne eventually.

He shook his head and jumped alittle when a pretty brunette made her way over. She batted her eye lashes at him and curtsied in her bright yellow dress.

" Good evening your highness! ", She stated flirtatiously and took a step closer, " I was wondering if perhaps you'd be open to a dance with me? "

Lee gulped and looked away nervously. He was about to respond when he noticed something else catch his attention. Looking up from the pretty brunette, he watched a blonde enter the room. Two older women accompanied both sides.

One woman wore a bright green dress that stopped at her ankles. Sequins twisted around the dress up to the waist. Strawberry blonde hair pulled back from her face.

The other woman held an air of confidence. Her long blonde hair tied in to a braid down her back. White dress hanging on her shoulders by thin straps. The white dress showing off her tan skin and silver painted eye lids.

She was pretty for an older woman. A young girl stood between the two women. Her hair in gentle curls, and face lightly painted. She wore a gold dress that hung around her shoulders. It just reached the floor, while she held it up a little.

He could tell she also looked nervously. Avoiding the conversation whispered between the older women. The blonde ushered her daughter to a young boy walking over to them.

The blonde girl stepped back and hid behind her aunt.

He chuckled and tensed up suddenly by the clearing of a throat, " Oh! So sorry! Got distracted..Er..I'll be right back..", He said to the girl in front of him and moved away.

By the time he turned around to look for the golden dressed girl. She was no where to be found. Much to his surprise and also her guardians.

He checked around the ball room, avoiding conversation with eight more girls. They all were the same. Wanting a dance with the magnificent prince. To be considered in the search of a bride to share the throne with.

It seemed like more of a game to them. They would dress up in beautiful dresses and flaunt themselves to catch his eye. No personality traits of their own, no hunger for adventure.

    Plain. Boring. Puppets.

When he couldn't find her. He snuck outside the palace and entered the gardens just outside the ballroom. It showed off its beautiful array of flowers in bloom. The most favorited was the rose. Red ones.

His mother loved to look at them when she got up in the mornings. He much preferred the bird like flower. Which stood off towards the opening of the gardens. A flower that bursted out to be seen and noticed with its magnificent colors.

The rustling of leaves and footsteps caught his hearing. He went forward immediately in to the maze of flowers and high raised bushes. The flowers surrounding the bushes making up the maze.

It was like going down a long winded tunnel. You didn't know where it would end, of if it was just beginning.

He nearly gave up until he saw the glimmer of gold. Nearly tripping over his own two feet while skidding to a half. He caught his footing and looked over.

Lilth knelt by a small group of lilies. Her light blue eyes gazing down at them with amazement. Her hair shrouding her face from view. But you could tell she was lost in her own train if thought.

Her fingertips gently brushed down one of the pure white petals. Drifting slowly over another. She couldn't believe that no one paid any attention to the beauty of nature.

Lee stepped closer, trying to be quiet not to scare her. Though his wrong stepping on a falling twig. Jolted her out of her thoughts, to stare accusingly at him.

" Oh! I'm so sorry! I just came out here to get fresh air. I didn't realize it was going to be a problem. I'll get going now-"

" No-, it's no problem at all. Please stay and enjoy them. Not many come out here to enjoy them. ", He replied to calm her, stopping to kneel close to her.

Lilth lifted her gaze from the ground to his face. The off set of dark blue of his suit, catching the light in his eyes. His unruly brown hair and that boyish cute smile of welcome.

She caught herself staring and immediately looked down, " How rude of me..-", She stated and went to introduce herself until her held up a hand. She looked at him in confusion and then realization dawned on her.

    " Y-You! "

    " And you. "

She sputtered in surprise and got up from the soft grass. Her fingers brushing off any dirt from her dress.

Lee stepped in her way to prevent her leaving, " I'm sorry for earlier, I truly am. I hope I didn't get you in trouble with you're mom. "

Lilth blinked at him and began to calm her racing heart. At least she didn't have to worry about embarrassing herself in front of a prince. She nodded her head in approval and say back down.

Lee took a seat close to her and pointed out the flowers, " I see you like lilies. We have more further back towards the fountain. Would you like to see it? "

Lilth smiles shyly and nodded, following him towards where the fountain remained hidden. It was a few minutes in to the maze. When they realized they were a little lost.

She turned to him just as he grabbed her hand and ran in to another direction. She furiously and continued with him.

They didn't hear their names being called out.

She laughed at him as they turned the corner and nearly fell in to the fountain.

He grinned and moved to sit on the edge of it. A goddess like statue stood in the middle of it. Tipping a watering can in towards the fountain. Water flowed fluently from the watering can in to the white painted fountain.

Lilth leaned over to gaze at the water. A smile on her face, she was having actual fun. Something she didn't think she'd have at a ball. Her mother and aunt rushed her around after dress shopping. They fussed over the dresses and hair styles for over an hour.

Being out here in the fresh air, allowed her to feel like herself again.

Lee sneakily scooped up water and splashed it at her. Gasping in shock, she splashed him back. Splashing each other back and forth, they laughed and declared war.

Lilth grabbed a stick nearby and pointed it at him, " I, the ruler of the skies, demand you hand over you're kingdom at once. "

Lee picked up a stick as well and crossed it against hers, " The moon will never give up, it'll fight to the end. ", He responded with a smirk.

They began to sword fight in rhythm of each other's steps. Nearly getting the upper hand on the other. Their gentle laughter and quick footsteps, lost in their world of play.

Lilth playfully and gentle poked her stick at his heart. Lee fell back with a expression of disbelief. She giggled at him, until he grabbed her hand and pulled her back with him.

A squeal of surprise and a quiet oof.

She felt her face grow warm, laying against his side. Her face hidden in his expensive tailored jacket. She took a breath, trying to gain courage to look up.

Lee met her gaze with curiosity, " Are you alright? ", He asked in genuine concern and lifted her chin to study her face.

She nodded slightly and rested her hand on his, " Are you? ", She questioned with concerned blue eyes.

He grinned at her in response and then turned his head to look up at the sky. Lilth watched him for a moment. Then tilted her gaze upwards.

In a short period of time, they could be themselves and have a friend to call their own. Not be tugged away to play with riches and talk with snobs.
