Over the last 24 hours, more than 100 bush fires have raged all over Australia, destroying land ,properties and thankfully no lives yet?My prays go out to everyone who has been affected by the fires. Luckily, the closet fire to my house has been 100 kms away. It's all over the news, and interviewing people who have lost everything. They only escaped with the clothes on their backs ? ? But I wast thinking, if you had a few minutes to grab as much as you could if a brushfire was approaching, what would you save? (This doesn't include your phone with PIMD, because that's everyone's #1) Side note In the midst of all the candy craze, last night was the first actual conversation we have had in campus for a long time This is all thanks to the mods. Rather than lurking, they came out and had a nice chat with the community. Unfortunately, since I'm permed, so I couldn't participate

My kids. Texas had major wildfires a while back, and several were within five miles of where I live. We were lucky, but my thoughts go out to those not so lucky.
My computer with the precious files that I probably wouldn't be able to recover, and my box of ideas for my book and other stories. ________________________________________ by TheMuffinMan on Fri Nov 3, 2017 3:77 pm I wouldn't take anything. Everyone should know from Fire Safety classes that when you see a fire, you GET OUTTA THERE AS FAST AS YOU CAN YOU DON'T STOP TO TAKE STUFF. Goshdarn, people on here are just… smh. SAFETY FIRST, PEOPLE!
WELLLLLL I would first take my stuffed animal I've had in my family for bunch of years. NEXT I would take my school textbooks because those cost a FORTUNEE and with those books I would sell for 2x the price next I would bring my uggs because ya know, gotta look stylish LASTLY I would bring my tiara because you know, I'm royalty That's all ? I took this pic from my bedroom window yesterday.. The fire was 40mins from us, and the wide were bringing it closer. Fortunately for us, the winds changed in the afternoon, and the smoke started moving away.. Also, the fire was in scrublands, no homes were under threat by the time it changed direction.. It's gonna be a crazy summer.. I guess if my home were under threat, I'd grab my MacBook and pack some clothes.. We don't keep many printed photos these days, so the mac is like my photo album
