Hello, hello wonderful pimders! Sooo, this week has been a little crazy huh? With Friday the 13th, followed by a full moon, seems like everyone has a touch of the loonies happening ? I, myself, have been snappier than usual, and it's made me wonder where all this hostility is coming from.. ? I've been reading through forums, and I've identified three main issues that have gotten people all fired up lately, and have some suggestions to bring back a little respect and maturity to the game Issue #1 - Hitting from the battle list The majority of us have probably had a few incoming hits every now and then.. Most people just accept that it's part of the game, return hits, and move on.. However, I'm hearing more and more complaints from people about this. The person who gets hit overreacts, hits excessively and/or posts nasty comments on the BL hitters wall, causing the situation to escalate more people get dragged into the situation and ?BOOM? Drama!! Yes, it's true that if you have a lot of cash out, you lose a lot when you're hit, so it makes sense that you would want to hit more to regain some of your losses.. HOWEVER, BL hitters are right.. This is a battle game.. The bank is there.. Having cash out is YOUR responsibility from what I've seen, BL hitters are aware of the possible retaliation to their hits and couldn't care less how much you've lost.. Change your perspective on BL hits Yay! BL hits! Instead of focusing on how much you've lost, try one of these: Realise this IS a battle game, and be thankful that these BL hits are pretty rare.. Think about the possible outcomes of your overreaction.. Hitting excessively will probably end up in more hits and drama.. More cash lost.. Is it worth it? Talking trash on BL hitter's walls will NEVER resolve the situation.. They don't care no really, they don't besides, all that time on walls will cause you to miss your regen, losing you even more money For BL hitters - try and be understanding to the fact that there aren't that many of you, and a lot of players haven't experienced a BL hit before. If they overreact, don't be petty and bring friends and clubmates into it return the exact number of hits, accept your loss as a rare thing, and move on.. The result? Less drama all around Issue #2 - Item Scammers Sooo, you won a rare item in a party, and figure you'll sell it for a nice profit.. Advertise it on campus, get a juicy offer, start volleying and you're left with a crappy, overpriced tute, and no item Or you agree to trade an item with a person, they accept yours, but don't send theirs.. You wall the person asking what the hell happened, and they laugh, or block you.. You want everyone and their dogs to know what this person did to you, and you expect justice The sad news is, you're both at fault, and you need to accept responsibility for this fact.. People can be real jerks, but any time you look for a trade or to sell, you're putting yourself at risk to these scammers. And again, they don't care ? Change your perspective on scammers Before you even THINK of selling an item you won for free, consider one of these: Most people will pay for rare items EARLY! Don't wait til the items have been around for a month.. The chances of being scammed go up the longer the item has been available Look at the person's stats.. Is it likely that they'll have that much money? Or be willing to spend it on an item? Do some research.. Look at the person's gifts, and maybe ask the person who sent the gifts if they can be trusted (do it via a cheap gift) Be the person who sells items cheaper than the rest! The idea of 20b easy money might be appealing, but try not to be greedy.. If everyone is selling items at 5b, why not sell yours at 2-3? They'll go much faster, and word will spread at the end of the day, you won the item free.. Don't see it as guaranteed cash, and don't jump on the highest bidder without a few precautions Issue #3 - New School vs Old School I think we can all agree there's been a bit of an "Us vs Them" mentality happening.. Old schoolers are dissing newer players, talking about how they've got it easier, and haven't learnt all the mechanics of the game (by which, I mean system wars). Yes, it's easier to earn money and grow faster now, and yes, parties are dominating wars and making club unity a thing of the past.. I bet even wedding wars are looking pretty good to you old war fiends New schoolers hear all this grumbling, and think being nasty is the way to play, and aren't being taught about the history of pimd. They don't understand how good they have it, and most aren't given the opportunity to learn either, with most older players too busy earning 2x and 3x pay in their 500kcs party clubs.. The irony That said, older players have to acknowledge that newer players could be the next VIPs, and us older players can influence the type of players they will become Change your perspective on old vs new Some things the remember for all players to consider: If you're a newer player; Get to know your pupil. They could be a huge source of help and info to you. Don't only go to them when you have a problem or want a volley, or they probably won't wanna talk to you at all ? Learn to make your own money! There are a million threads to maximise plunder via parties and farms, and the benefits of tutor bonus Show interest in all aspects of the game. Try a war.. It's a bit of effort to prepare, but gives you a thrill no party can match If you're an older player; Remember your early days! You didn't come here knowing everything, and you'll recall how there was more emphasis on respect for others Be the bigger person! And I don't mean stats-wise.. If you're having trouble with a new player, don't keep pushing.. Know when to walk away. If you want things to feel old school, you've gotta BE old school, and that means showing respect Take the time to teach your tutes. Show them how to grow a brand new player to 5kcs, point them in the direction of helpful party clubs.. The little things can make a huge difference to a players game. Don't forget, at the end of the day, we're all human. We may say it's just a game, but that doesn't stop people getting invested in it Well, that was a rant and a half As an endnote, I understand that this is all coming from my point of view.. Each of you will have different views, and have your own style of playing, and I'm all for that I'm just asking for a little more care and consideration amongst all players.. Now about that cake...
