Sometimes I wonder...

  1. Oh thank you MadPro. There is this thing called kindness stressed in the bible, try it out?

Anyhoo, I have faith. It's not a lack of faith that's causing me to look for "evidence" or "information." It's the lack of adequate ability to defend that faith. Because in case you haven't noticed..... Not everyone believes in The Bible. So why would they believe something just because The Bible says so.

  2. Zach  If everything is predetermined... Do we even have free will? Are we making our own choices or are we making choices because we've been programmed to do so?

  3. And if everything is planned and we're doing things based on personalities and feelings we're programmed to have....  Who's doing the programming? Who's doing the planning?

  4.  who knows Alice, who knows it could've been written we would be writing these exact words at this exact time already before we even think of them! I wouldn't have a bloody clue nor would you, hence why I don't believe it, whilst on the twist I do, again, doesn't make sense  ?

  5. Ehhhh I was raised by Christians... Never went to church.... Never really did religious things...
Taught at a vacation bible school for christian kids....

Yet honestly.... I don't know.... I'm not a religious person... And I never will be.

  6. ^Same here, but lately I've been questioning whether god is real or not. I'm really not sure!

  7. Huh... Brave of you to bring this topic to forums, sweetheart.

See, I'm in a bit of a confused state with religion and things. Though my family are all extreme, devout Christians, my immediate family has been too lazy to really involve my sibling and I in religion. So, basically, we've been more robotic... Forced to believe rather than believing ourselves.

As for my own beliefs, I've strayed more towards science than religion. I can't believe in the idea that one man controls our everything, has our whole life planned out for us... I do believe that there is a God, but I think it's more of a... conscience type thing. Like, "Don't do this because God wouldn't approve." Kind of like a guidance thing to keep us from doing wrong. I feel like if he is real, he has no control over us except for the guidance/conscience thing. He merely sits and watches.

Another thing that confuses me... If God created everything, what/who created him? I mean, if there was nothing before him, there had to be nothing to create him.

Many say you need faith, but I find it odd that the guideline to faith is a book that's been edited and edited over the course of it's existence.

    Eh.

  8. Well, I think that we all have an innate sense or want to believe in something. If not believe.... To understand or find answers to explain what we don't understand. So it makes sense, Zach. In an odd way.

Thanks, Corrupt. Hmmm that's probably not the best exposure you want to have to religion. It shouldn't be forced. It's supposed to be chosen. So I'm glad that you don't believe in God just because you're forced to.

I do think God is an active presence in our lives. Since we're meant to have a personal relationship with him and confide in him. But you're right I got that from my book that's been translated from Greek to Latin to Hebrew to English and then some. o_O Oi lots of translating. Which is why I'm very weary of newer translations. Most people prefer the newer translations because it's "easy" to understand... But I prefer the older versions because there's less chance something's been misinterpreted. So even thought my favorite translation is New King James, I compare scripture lol. I use Geneva, King James, New King James, and the New International Version. /).(\ Covering the bases lol.

  9. MUAHAH sucks to be you all!!!!!

Once you start questioning such stuff it's all over, being religious isn't about questioning this and that it's about FAITH!!!!!!

Oh, and in my opinion, you either are Christian or you aren't, for example,

"Oh I used to be Christian, but now I'm not!"

You never were truly a dedicated Christian, if you were a true Christian you wouldn't go astray,

But eh who am I to say? I ain't religious.

    deuces

  10. I agree with what spit said. I met tons of people who say "Oh I'm catholic" "oh I'm Christian" "oh I'm Mormon" yet they have never set foot in a church and haven't learned a single thing about god or Jesus. I was raised a catholic and later converted to Christianity and it was probably the best thing I could have done with my religious status.

  11. So the non-religious knows all about the religion he doesn't suscribe to. Oh the irony 

K first of all people need to stop saying it's wrong to have questions. I'm only human we're going to have questions. God isn't against me asking questions. Job asked questions, Habakkuk had questions!  So go troll somewhere spitfire.

And FYI, you can go astray even if you're a devout Christian. People make mistakes, we have a change of heart, life happens. We're human! So that statement is completely false.

  12.  I ain't trolling,

    Go ahead ask questions,
    Ask loads of them
Ask til u can't ask anymore!

I was merely stating my divine opinion.

  13. Lol "people make mistake!"

When a fellow Christian says that I always see it as an excuse,

"Oh I'm only human, we make mistakes!"

    Yah, excuses excuses.

but go on and do what you do BEST

    YO FRIENDLY POSTA SPITTY OUTTIES

I CAN understand a person who hasn't read a bible or know nothing about this so called god to say that, but someone who goes to church, reads a bible and then goes "yah, I'm only human!"

    Right!

    Deuces

  14. What?! No outie. We're having a discussion!

  15. K, not sure if fire spit is still going to bother reading this thread but, I disagree.

The phrase we're only human does hold water. We're all inclined to "sinning" or "making bad choices." In fact, without morals or a conscience that's what we'd be doing ALL the time, because well deep down that's what we really wanna do.

Now back to the a Christian who reads the bible and goes to church wouldn't say we're only human. Guess what? She just did. Sorry, but yes Christians can fail sometimes. Lord knows I'm not perfect even if I aim to be. Now sometimes I just don't understand how people that profess to be Christian can just turn away from God or why they do the darnedest things. But they do! And I do not know these people's hearts. That's why I don't just want to go and say oh..., he did that so couldn't have truly been a Christian. Or he's an agnostic now? Guess he was never a true believer.

But if I'm being completely honest, I think it is incredibly hard to go from hardcore believer and follower of Christ to /).- There is no such thing as God. Something major has got to have happened to that person or..... They're lying in some way, shape, or form.

  16. It's simple, it's in our nature to turn our backs on god. It starts off with Adam and Eve, once they ate the apple from the tree that they weren't supposed to eat, they quickly hid themselves from the presence of god knowing they had done wrong. When god found them, I'm pretty sure Adam blamed Eve for eating the apple, and Eve blamed the snake who persuaded her to eat the apple.

So yeah, when people say crap like," God doesn't give us evidence that he's real at least!" Or "God turns his back on us!"

Well, it's actually us who turn our backs on him, we hide ourselves from his presence when we commit wrong, it's all over the bible. I'm pretty sure there's evidence that he's real, but we are probably too blind to see it.

It's far worse to commit a sin being a Christian or whatever, then to not be a Christian, and be ignorant from this so called word of god.

    PREACHA IN THA HOUSE!!!!

Correct ME IF IM WRONG YOOO

  17. Alice my dear that's why it's called faith. Faith is believing without seeing. no one will actually know the truth until they themselves are deceased, but as for me I choose to have faith in Christ. Although I do not bash others who think differently it is only their opinion.

  18. Yeah, like air, you breath it, you feel it, but you don't see it.

  19. Exactly spit great example

  20. "The truth is out there"
