(With probable themes from Fallout: Equestria and/or The End of Ponies, this is gonna be my one-shot designed to judge my writing skill.) Ruin. It was over, the instant I saw the distant spark, I knew... But I didn't weep. I didn't just drop down and surrender to fate. After all, good things come to those who wait, right..? A few months back, I thought this war could be averted. A few weeks ago, we were sure peace was possible. A few days ago, we were clinging to hope, but everything around us was falling. Nobody saw it coming. ---------------------------------------------- "Hey, Clarity, how are things in Canterlot?" The familiar mare called as I stopped by, smiling as she helped me load my saddlebags with the supplies we needed. "Well, although the zebras are trying to get to us, we're making great progress with ways to effectively defend ourselves. Twilight says that the reverse-engineering of the gemstone technology is really leaping forwards, especially the stealth cloaks!" I was excited, though wartime tension kept me from being entirely happy about it. "Ooh, if anypony can crack those zebra devices, it's Twilight! Anything new from the other Ministries?" The teal pegasus tossed a small box of enchanting crystals into the left bag, and I thought about it. Pinkie's addiction, Rarity's sudden change in behaviour, Applejack being injured rather severely, and Fluttershy's megaspells... "The Ministry of Awesome is actually close to finishing their work of their mysterious, and pretty much only project." The white towers were well visible in the distance, many in every direction, but the purpose still unclear. Wait, let me explain first. Equestria was in a war with Zebrahara, I'm not sure why anymore. The ponies had heros, six marefriends that had saved the land thrice before. Princess Luna and Celestia ruled the country, but after an assassination attempt that led to a horrible sacrifice, Celestia decided to allow her sister to rule in her stead. Luna assigned each of the six friends to lead their own Ministry, tasked with doing something, anything to help the war effort, or in Fluttershy's case, the peace effort. Applejack was the Ministry of Wartime Technology, Rarity had the Ministry of Image, Rainbow Dash had the ridiculously named Ministry of Awesome, Pinkie Pie was the head of the Ministry of Morale, Fluttershy led the Ministry of Peace and Twilight Sparkle was the Ministry Mare of the Ministry of Arcane Sciences. There had been many bloody events in the war, and many choices that were in moral grey zones, but a war is too long to summarize. Back to where I was. The friendly mare smiled as the last of her goods dropped into the bag I was carrying "I heard about that! They're calling it the "Single Pegasus Project"! It sounds exciting, doesn't it?"I swear, she looked like she was about to bounce. No, I didn't think it sounded exciting. I was scared. -------------------------------------------- It was late evening when I returned to Canterlot, and I wasted no time in going down to the central hub of the Ministry of Arcane Sciences. I looked at my reflection while passing the Ministry of Image, rolling my eyes at my pampered red mane, the crimson looking somewhat intimidating against my charcoal coat, and I kept walking, noticing the rather drastic increase of guards around. Was it really that dangerous now? I caught sight of Ministry Mares Fluttershy and Rarity trotting into the Ministry of Peace as I entered the MoAC. I waved at the secretary, noting the magical energy turrets above and I headed directly to the main research area. "Clarity! Luna's horn, we've been wondering if you made it back!" A voice relieved me, my body releasing tension I wasn't even aware of as I looked over at the chocolate coated, black maned stallion smiling at me. He was an earth pony, but his technological skills more than made up for lack of magic. He was also mine. We were to be wed in a week. "Gadget! I told you not to worry, you dust-brained buck!" We laughed and I hugged him, my horn glowing as I levitated the bags over to the table. "As much as I'd love to stay and chat, I need to get sleep. Twilight Sparkle informed me that she'd like to talk early tomorrow morning, to discuss the results of test subject Trixie." Despite his attempts to keep me there, I pulled away with a smile "We'll see each other tomorrow, and I promise, much more time then." He nodded, I don't remember much more until I went to bed, thinking of the war and everything we'd been through as a nation... and that's right around when I heard the blasts. I looked outside, the city was surrounded by a massive magical shield, ponies were panicking as missiles blew up all around the shield, and I ran towards the Ministry. He met me at the door, looking relieved, but terrified, "We need to leave! The Princesses may be powerful, but I don't think we are safe here! Take this, it's a prototype stealthbuck Mk. II, it'll hide you. I need to get this research sent to Twilight, then I'll meet you at the escape zone! GO!" He yelled, and I knew I couldn't convince him otherwise, so I left. ... Luna curse me to the Moon, and Celestia force the Sun down my throat, I left him there... I looked back as I approached the shield barrier, but I couldn't see him. Continuing, I ran across vast open stretches of land, too scared at first to think properly, and then I saw the mountain tunnel. Our escape. This led to Fillydelphia, where hopefully we would be safe. But as I turned, sittung down to wait, I saw something I wish never had existed... I saw the Pink Cloud. Pink Cloud is the name of a zebra-created megaspell that releases a cloud of pink, corrupting magic that seeps into everything. It kills in seconds, even when extremely thin, and turns even mundane things like speaker systems into deathtraps that make your eyes bleed and literally can make your head explode. The most important city was surrounded by a magical shield. The bomb was detonated inside. There would be no survivors unless they already escaped, like me... I waited, thinking about everypony I had met that day. All the guards, civilians, researchers, the Ministry Mares, the Princesses... my beautiful stallion... no, no he was coming, of course. He'd be here soon. I never knew him to let me down, so he'd be here. Right? ----------------------------------------------- I was there for nearly a week. I had stored supplies up here months before, and canned food stays quite good unopened. But I was alone. I was horribly, utterly alone. Nopony that made it out came here, and all of my family knew I'd be here if anything were to happen. So I watched the pink bubble that used to be the city, and after a week, the shield fell, the pink swarmed everywhere. The Princesses were dead. The Ministry Mare were probably dead too. My family and my own fiancé were all dead. ... I watched the wall of pink approach with an overwhelming calm sense of resignation. We started this war. Now it is our responsibility to pay the price. I closed my eyes and let the Cloud hit. ------------------------------------------------

I've never actually watched Sharknado I just heard it from my friend and decided it was a tornado that only picked up sharks and left them in the Amazon rainforest to die. Applejack is my second fav.
