Chapter 4: Big Sister? Two Years Later "Patrick, did you remember to change Damien before you put him in the crib?" I glanced over at my older brother as he was covering our youngest sibling up. "Ya, it was messy too. We'll have to sneak some money out of dad's wallet tomorrow and go buy more wipes and diapers. Hows Sierra?" Patrick sat down beside me. "Shes fine. The fever has gone down. She fell asleep alittle ago." Patrick nodded. Bang! Bang! BANG! "FOR CHRIST SAKE YOU NO GOOD KIDS OPEN THE DAMN DOOR!" Patrick sighed and motioned for me to run upstairs and hide. I did as I was told. I heard the door open and the tell-tale signs of our drunk parents coming home. "Where is she??" I heard my father demand. "She is asleep. Please leave her alone she has a field trip in the morning."MMy brother covered smoothly, hoping my father will leave me alone for this one night. It nornally works. We have been this was for a year, ever since Damien came. Patrick and I take care of the two little ones and Patrick makes sure dad keeps his hands off me.Mt of the time anyway. There wasnt much he could do……he was only 7 after all. I heard grumbling and jumped in bed. I thought i was in the clear……until my bedroom door swung open. "WAKE UP!" I pretended to be asleep. I felt a sharp pain in my leg as dad yank my downward. "Quit faking or it will be worse." He growled. "GET AWAY FROM HER! SHES YOUR DAUGHTER LEAVE HER ALONE!" Patrick yanked on dads arm. Dad didnteen flinch. He back handed Patrick, knocking him into my dresser. "Shut up and watch." My fathers grip tightened on my legs as i fought free. "Fucking worm stay still." He started slapping me across the face. All I remember before blacking out was the sound of my shorts ripping and my screams that followed.
