I have been thinking a lot recently. Thinking about life, thinking about my future. Thinking of the influence my life will leave. If you really think of it, our life is but a vapor that appears for a short time and then goes away... What influence will your life leave behind? I don't want to be remembered as the guy who sat at home and played a game on his phone all day! I don't want to be the guy that people have to dig around to find something nice to say about me. I don't want to be the guy who people have to lie about at my funeral! I want to be the guy who has a positive influence on society. I want to be the guy who people can look back and think of as a great man! I want to be a guy whose family and friends can turn to for advice. I want to be that guy that people celebrate my life at my funeral. You may ask where all this is coming from. As most of you know, I work every day with teen guys who are basically throwing their lives away. A lot want to change, but some refuse and I see an emptiness in their hearts! God seems to get ahold of some of their hearts and they change completely. Some refuse God and turn around and do what they want... Only to find themselves in a worse position than they were in to begin with. Now, if you are religious or not, that's your choice. But, I have seen the Word of God change many "unchangeable" lives. I find it funny that the Bible is forbidden is school, but encouraged in prison.... Interesting. Here is my point: don't wait till it is too late to make a purpose for your life. You can choose now to decide to have a successful life, or you can choose to continue doing whatever you want... Only to find yourself in a hole you can't get yourself out of! Really I am just rambling, this is something that's been on my heart for a while and I wanted to get it out! If you are a troll, go ahead... Lol it doesn't effect me. Ꮋཇའཀཇཧ @Ꭲ_Ꮇ
Dont apologize, this was a good read. Very inspirational. I'm sure you will be remembered by many as great man.
That was powerful… I've seen many of my friends end up dead or in jail and I thank you for what you do man Respect
Thank you SO much for writing this! Idk you and you don't know me, but please realize that you have made a difference in a strangers world! Too many ppl only care for themselves, but that leaves a lot of us that are going through difficult times alone where its incredibly easy to get sucked into feeling sorry for yourself. Thank u for taking the time to do what u do in RL!
It is just shocking! So many guys know they are making mistakes, yet continue down the path they are on! And they know where it leads!
I like this . Absolutely agree with it. Although, I do think that it is ok to have fun however you want. Not everything has to be about yourself nor does it have to be the reciprocal. You can have a positive influence and have fun doing whatever you like.
Hermes, you constantly make a positive impact on hundreds of people's lives every day. Not just teenage boys, but those who are close to them, their family and friends. Add all of those over the time you've been doing your job, and the many years to come, I'm sure you would've made an impact with tens of thousands of lives. That alone should make you feel a proud man, even those you fail to help, you tried. You'll do your part and have a positive influence on so many lives. Respect As for me, at one point I was a lifeguard, and saved around 300 lives in 2 years. To me that's something to be proud of. Once my life settles down I would love to volunteer to be a life guard again, to save more lives.
Great read. It is ad that the Bible is not allowed in schools. I always took one in my Backpack and read it. Teachers in 90's never cared. But why are they allowed in the worst of places but not in places where it can prevent kids and teens from going to prison in the future. Great read and very true Respect to you!
