    Prologue

All my life I've been a foster kid. Bouncing from home to home, school to school. Always doing something wrong, never anything right. I remember when I first went into foster care. I was about two...

    Chapter One: The first time

I was sitting on the couch holding my big brother Patricks hand. We watched as mommy and daddy packed things into a little back pack.

"Ashley, Patrick....time to go." Mom came over and picked me up. She had tears in her eyes and I didn't know why.

"Mommy, why cry, we going Grandmas right?" I looked at her curiously.

She didn't answer instead she took me outside, Patrick following holding Daddy's hand. She set me in my carseat and buckled me up an kissed me on the forehead.

"Remember baby, Mommy loves you." With that she shut the door and got in the front.

I looked over at Patrick as daddy started the car. He was hugging his blue blanky and staring out the window. I looked up front and saw mommy burst into tears and daddy staring straight ahead glaring.

"SHUT UP CONNIE! Jesus Christ! It's your fault we have to take them!" Daddy yelled at mommy before back handing her.

I jumped and hugged my blanket and stuffed pig, holding back tears. Daddy no like crying daddy say mommy deserve it, I be big girl and be quiet.

Finally we arrived at grandmas. It was dark out and I was very sleepy. Daddy got me out of the car and carried me to the door. I could hear mommy picking up Patrick. He had fallen asleep awhile ago.

Daddy knocked on the door and grandma answered.

"Here's the kids and here's their toys." Daddy shoved me into grandmas arms along with the bag. I watched as he yanked Patrick out of Mommy's arms and handed him to grandpa.

"See you later." Daddy stormed off to the car.

Mommy came and kissed us both crying. "Mommy loves you so much," She looked at grandma, "Take care of them." And with that she left.

Finally realizing what was happening I started reaching out screaming. "MOMMY DADDY NO DONT LEAVE ME!" I cried as daddy peeled out of the drive way.

Grandma took us inside and shook her head at Grandpa. "No clothes, no diapers. Just toys." She looked at my brother and I before going to my aunt Jessica's room.

She came back with two diapers an some shirts. "You'll have to wear Auntys shirts until we can buy you some." She proceeded to change us and put us to bed. I went in Aunt Jessica's room. I don't know where Patrick went.

Jessica got up and tucked me into the toddler bed. She looked at me sadly, "Want me to read you a story to help you fall asleep?"

I nodded and she went and grabbed grandmas story book.

"Fumblina." Laughing Jessica began reading the story. I was asleep before she finished the first page.

  2. Will update sometime later tonight

  3. Why didn't you share why they were being given up? Or are you saving that for a later date?

  4. I'm telling from the girls point of view as she would be at that time, so yes it will come later

  5. Chapter Two: Going back

A few months past and I finally got to go home to live with mommy and daddy. Grandma had taken good care of us. Every night I slept in Auntys Jessica's room with grandmas kitty Cuddles. I'm going to miss Cuddles. Patrick and I sat on the front steps waiting for mommy and daddy to pick us up. After what seemed like forever, they finally arrived.

As mommy got out of the car I took off racing right into her arms. I hugged her tight.

"You no leave no more. I miss you." Mom was smiling and kissed my forehead. Back into the car we went.

I didn't recognize where we went. Mommy said they moved into a new place. She got me and Patrick out of the car and took us up a flight of stairs into our new home. It was so pretty and so big! Patrick and I shared a room. We even had new beds! They were really tall and white I had to climb up a step stiol to get to the bed.

Mommy and daddy's room was down the hall. That night we had a huge dinner to celebrate us coming back. Daddy was awfully quiet the whole night. When it was bed time I climbed into bed and there for a while. All of the sudden I heard something crash.

I climbed out of bed and woke up Patrick. He rubbed his eyes and we peeked out of the bedroom together.

"WHY CAN'T YOU DO ANYTHING RIGHT! THE ONLY REASON WE GOT THEM BACK WAS BY DUMB LUCK! YOU ARE A DISGRACE!" We watched as daddy slapped mommy so hard she fell over. I was too scared to move but Patrick wasn't. He was brave. He ran out of the bedroom and over to mommy.

"Mom? You ok?" I watched as daddy picked up Patrick and flung him on the couch.

"THIS IS NOT YOUR CONCERN BOY!" Daddy started to raise his hand. That was it no one hurt my brother.

I ran out of the room and shoved daddy as hard as I could. "No!"

"What did you say?" Daddy glared at me. His eyes red and it was only then I noticed the beer bottle in his hand.

I cowered alittle before standing up straight. "I said No!"

"Why you little!" I felt heat spread across my cheek before I fell and everything went black.

  13. Chapter 3: Foster care...the bad kind

Because of what daddy did, Patrick and I are back in another home. I don't like this home so much. Too many kids, plus Patrick leaves in the morning and doesn't get home till snack time.

I can't ever remember there names. The Clamons? The Calins? Either way it started with a C. I'm pretty sure they only took us for the money. I hate it here so much.

"Get up!" The lady got me up and got me dressed. She made me brush my teeth and then sat me against the wall in these...these wall sits. I have to sit here ALLLLLL day. I'm not even allowed to go potty! I eat here, the food in my lap and if I drop it I don't get anymore. The man yells at me if I so much as sit down.

Nope I have to keep my butt against the wall and pretend I'm sitting in a chair. But I fall slot, then I get things taken away.

When Patrick gets home I'm actually happy. I mean, he has to do the wall sits too, but I get be by him and it's not so lonely.

We'be been here for 6 months now and we finally get to go home. Our caseworker says mommy and daddy have gotten a knew trailer and are both doing well.

I'm so happy, no more wall sits.....for now. But I'm also upset. When mom and dad showed up there was another girl in the car. Mommy says her names Sierra and she's my sister. I pout because that means I'm not the baby no more. I hate this.

(Short and kinda crappy but I'm kinda brain dead ATM)
