ATTENUATED DIMENSIONS ... Imagine... You sit in class all day, only half listening to the teacher rant in his usual boring monotone. Your peers around you whisper the latest gossip, but you aren't interested. You're waiting for the moment the bell rings to let you out, so you can go home and immerse yourself in the virtual world. Perhaps you'll go play CoD... or maybe try beating your high score at a remake of the classic game of tetris. Suddenly, a thought strikes you; perhaps you should bring out your old pokemon game. You haven't played in ages! Beside you, one of your peers discusses how some guy hooked up with his old girlfriend, neither of whom they even know that well. They barely remember the pokemon craze, having never owned a game in their life. Across town, somebody in their early thirties is starting their new office job. As excited as they are about landing this position, they can't help but look forward to going home and seeing their two young children. They've seen their elder child playing with his handheld game system, but never really understood this "pokemon" that he was playing. But what if, one day, they all got teleported out of their dimension into a new one? A young athlete sprints around a circular track. They are alone, trying to beat their previous time record for the 400 metre dash. As they near the finish, their breathing fast, but even, and their heart pumping in anticipation, a sudden flash of colour appears before them. They run right through it, and the ground disappears. They scream as they suddenly find themselves flying through space. They panic, having no idea what's happening, and not knowing how to stop it. All at once, they world appears again. But it's not the same world they were in before... A ten-year old strolls slowly down the street, tugging along the family dog that they had agreed to walk for fifty cents. A movement down a side-street catches their eye, and they can't help but investigate. As they head down the street, they see it again; the air seems to be moving. It looks like a coloured heat-wave. Curious, they reach out to touch it... Suddenly, the child finds themselves soaring through an endless black sky. They hear the terrified yelps of their shih tzu, and grab onto him. They close their eyes in terror, hoping the nightmare will end - when it does. The kid open their eyes, and the first thing they realize is that they are no longer holding a shih tzu; they're holding what they recognize as a growlithe... Welcome to the World of Pokemon. The citizens of the pokemon world have noticed changes as well. The one that's on everyone's mind are the sudden, frequent appearances of the legendary pokemon Giratina. Having been previously unseen by the average human, the appearance of the renegade pokemon has people worried. Disappearances in the pokemon world have occured as well... but what most don't realize is that these people have been transported to an entirely different dimension - our own. People are growing angrier and more confused as friends and family are teleported away to the unknown world. But as these humans from our world appear in the pokemon world, further questions arise. How did they get here? How do they get back? And what does Giratina have to do with all of this? Team Galactic - known for their desire to recreate the entire universe in their boss's name - are the only ones that know what's going on. They've captured Giratina, but don't know how to control the legendary. Their attempts at having it tear down the dimension and create a new one have only proven to weaken the dimensions walls - thus, the dimension closest to the pokemon world and the only one to know anything about it, our own, is starting to merge with the pokemon dimension. Team Galactic has heard about the newcomers from the other dimension, and wishes to take them for testing; perhaps if they do so, they can destroy both dimensions... Like in the games, most of the new arrivals from the normal dimension appear in Twinleaf Town. Many suggest going to find Giratina - the pokemon whom can control dimensions. It has been rumoured to live in Turnback Cave, located in Sendoff Spring, but has recently been sighted elsewhere (of course, what they don't know is that Giratina is under the control of Team Galactic). But in order to get there, they'll need their own pokemon for protection - and they also have to avoid Team Galactic at all costs! If they can't get to Giratina in time, the two dimensions could merge... or they could both be completely destroyed. RULES: 1. No godmodding or powerplaying (you may powerplay ONLY if you have the person who normally controls that character's permission to do so.). This includes no autohitting. 2. There isn't a "set literacy" level for this. You put as much or as little thought into your posts as you want. Don't worry too much about spelling/ typos as long as we can tell what you're trying to say. 3. You may be either a human from the pokemon dimension, or a human from our dimension. You may NOT be a pokemon who is not controlled by a trainer/ wild pokemon. This means you cannot be an animal who has wandered into our dimension. 4. There are no animals in the pokemon world in this RP. All animals become pokemon once they enter the pokemon dimension. Use your brains if you choose to have an animal/ pet come with your human. For example, a small dog would not become a large dog pokemon. Some pokemon have traits of more than one animal (for example, eevee has both cat and dog traits). Try to match your animal as closely as possible to a pokemon. 5. I'm imposing a starting limit of two pokemon for "normal world" humans (this means the animals that come with your humans to the pokemon world). The suggested limit for "pokemon world" humans is three pokemon to avoid having too many useless characters, however you may have more if you think you'll play all of them. 6. Please note that it is not expected that all humans will have pets that come with them. This does NOT mean that you will not have any pokemon; you will be able to obtain them later. 7. I hope this is a good bio --- Normal Dimension Name: Lynne Age: 18 Gender: Female Appearance: Basic History: She's the girl that was just in a crowd of friends during lunch. The one who seems to be odd. Who also has a love for video games! An avid pokemon player she has at least owned one game for every generation (She also has a collection of the games). She was able to complete the Sinnoh pokedex after beating her Pearl game a while ago. One day, Lynne has decided to open up her handheld console and continue playing that game after beating the two newer games. She had caught Giratina in game and was proud of the accomplishment. She then decided to get Platinum for her collection, she went through the whole routine and bam, she starts remembering all the cutscenes. She sighs and wondered about such a world being real. Would it be like the books in the library in the 4th gen games? She went walking down the street, listening to the music on her phone, when she noticed something weird. It wasn't that hot out she ruled out that it was heat rays. She tried walking along and ended up walking right into a bright light, she closed her eyes and when she opened them she began to panic. She kept turning around and then she figured maybe if she closed her eyes her vision would come back. When she opened them though she wasn't back on the path she was walking. Personality: Sweet and a tad naive, with a sense for justice. She can deal with being alone, normally using something to keep her distracted. Can also create witty comments.
