  1. Prologue-

I woke up that morning, thinking nothin was wrong. James, my boyfriend, was beside me as usual.

Slowly, I crept out of bed to make some eggs and bacon. A few minutes later I heard James stirring around, then he walked downstairs.

"Good morning honey!" I said cheerfully.

"Morning," he replied, not sounding like himself. He wrapped his arms around me and I smiled and pecked his cheek.

I couldn't help but think something was wrong with him, but I just shook the thought away and didn't think much about it.

  2. I Wish I Had Known
    Chapter One:
"What do you want to do today?" He asked me.

"I don't know. What would you like to do?"

"Um.. Well, right now it's raining.. So how about we hang out here?"

    "Sounds good to me."

"Good," he says and walks upstairs to take a shower. I start doing the dishes when my Android rings.
    "Hello?"

"Hey, it Michael. Is James around?" My best friend asks.

"He's in the shower right now. Why?" I ask curiously.

"There's something you need to know, but he can't be around when I tell you."

"Okay. He's going to hang out with some friends later."

"I need to go. Be careful, bye!" He says and hangs up.

"Um.. Bye?" I say and set my phone down.

A second later James walks in. "Were you talking to somebody?"

    "Yeah."

    "Who?"

    "Michael."

His eyes narrow and face turns red. "Yeah? What did he have to say?"

    "Um... Nothing..?"

"You liar!" He almost yells and slaps me.

Tears flow down my cheeks. He never acted like this. "What on earth is wrong with you?!" I shout.

"Don't raise your voice with me!" He shouts and slams me into a nearby cabinet. More tears stream down my cheeks as I storm out of the house.

  3. Chapter one continued:
    James POV:
When I woke up that morning Natalie wasn't beside me. There was a strong aroma of eggs and bacon, which led me into the kitchen.

After we had eaten breakfast I walked upstairs to take a shower. When I was done, I turned off the water and slipped on some jeans and a white polo shirt and walked downstairs.

I came to a holt in the hallway when I heard Natalie talking to somebody. "Okay. He's going to hang out with some friends later." She said and I knew she was talking about me to someone.

After she hung up I walked in and asked who she was talking to. "Michael." She said simply. Michael?! Michael?! Was all I could think. I couldn't stand him.

Then, when I asked what they were talking about she totally lied to me! I was frustrated. That's when I hit her. Honestly, I was in shock myself for doing that, then the next thing I knew I had slammed her into the cabinet and she stormed out.

I picked up my iPhone, still frustrated and called my friend Eric.

    "Hello?" Came his voice.

    "I can't hang out tonight."

    "Why?"

"I have my own problems to deal with."

"Okay," he says and hangs up.

After hanging up, I grab my car keys and wallet then try to track her down.

  4. I Wish I Had Known
    Chapter Two:
As I'm running off questions flood through my head. Where am I going? What's going on with James? What if what Michael knows related to the way James is acting? All of a sudden my phone rings, interrupting my thoughts.

    "Hello?"

"Hey! Is James still around?" Michael asks.

    "No."

"Good. Where are you? Ill pick you up."

    "I'm by the library."

    "Okay. Bye."

"Bye," I say before he can hang up. I plop down on a nearby bench and watch the traffic. Across the street I see James' car. A horrified look stretches across my face. Thank god, he hasn't seen me yet, but it's only a matter of time before he does.

About a second later, Michael's old, beaten up Ford truck screeches to a stop.

"Are you okay? You look horrible." He says stepping out of the drivers side.

    "Gee, thanks," I say teasingly.

    "Well, should we go?"

"Yeah," I say hopping into the passenger side. As he starts to drive towards his house, I watch James' car. After a long silence he says, "so, lets talk?"

"Okay. Tell me what you meant on the phone this morning about James."

    "I can't right now, but I promise I will."

"Why can't you just tell me now?" I ask wondering if he sees James' car.

    "Because.. Just trust me. Please.."

"Fine," I say and stare out the window, indicating our conversation was over.
