I'm really eager to learn how to play, but I can't afford to pay $30 per lesson. If you're self taught, can you please tell me how you learned? Also if you know any websites, videos, or tips that can help me please tell me, I would REALLY appreciate it!
Memorize the keys, notes and sounds. After that you start out slow, and basically get it in no time. note: memorizing the keys, notes, and sounds will take you a while.
My suggestion is to take the first few grade(s) to learn the basics. (the notes, sharps, flats, dynamics, bases, slurs, etc..) The low grades are considerably cheaper then the others. After you've mastered those, just google/find videos of sheet music and play them. As your skills increase, cried harder songs. c: If the symbol is too complicated, post a picture on forums so we can help or google it.
couldn't have said it better myself. ^ Btw: to learn how to play the piano you have to really WANT to. Don't do it just because someone's making you, or because someone else it doing it. It won't be fun.
When I first started learning how to play the piano I would write the notes on the keys with a marker pen, which really does help, and also purchhasing music book helps.
Learn the Treble and Base Clef, the notes on the piano, etc. The Flats and Sharps Too. The kind of notes and for what it's worth. You have to put your heart out into piano if you want to learn, it's not a slack.. Kinda thing.XD I've been playing for quite a while, takes time to master
I never take lessons... I usually just walk up to the instrument and start to play, of course... We have to memorise the sound and all. I learned the notes by reading them on a music sheet that someone played; I just take extra attention on the keys they hit, and then I find out what note it is, if I look at the sheet... I don't know if I'm helpful enough. But there are lots of tutorials and sites that can help you through it. Learn the chords, but in order to do that, you should learn the key notes. :>
