  1. Episode 4:

    ~Whÿ wę årē thę bēšt~

The physically stronger appearance of the male made Vargas' movements appear shark like. Hunting down his pray, making them feel fear and having no time to escape. Or so thought his Controller Leo and him. Within milliseconds Lucy had turned around, her blue dressed back now facing Mima. Her face presented the stage for a wicked smile, Vargas was taken aback and Leo withdrew his hand from in front of him.

"Vargas you idiot, it was a fake out!" Leo's adolescent voice screeched to his Voodoo Doll.

Mima bursting with energy did a reverse hand stand and landed a couple of feet away from Lucy, at the same time Lucy raised her axe above her head. The cold steel it was made of made the axe heavy but this Voodoo Doll did it effortlessly. She sprinted to be were Vargas had retreated to; she stopped just inches away from his face. Their noses just a dirt grain apart, Vargas’s ocean blue eyes filling with disbelief. The Voodoo only mouthed his terrifying thoughts. 'Leo, I may have wisdom but you. My friend gave me experience and joy for life.'

Vargas's tear were adamant and visible, they were the clear colour of a jellyfish swimming peacefully in the ocean. The morning sun aluminizing the sea creatures the visibility of its insides glimmering from the sun’s rays. Even the grown Voodoo Doll can't hide his true emotions. Lucy proceeded to swing, the mass of the axe caused friction in the air, creating a slight noise of whoosh. At that moment both of the girls red eyes gazed intently at the older Voodoos.

"Lucy stop!" Mima’s voice had clarity and urgency with in it. Though it was too late, the hit from the axe was unavoidable.

"Damn you Vargas!" The long, pink strains of the Voodoos head was thrown back, her light red eyes focused on Vargas's masculine body.

The dark, haunting red coloured blood splattered everywhere, Leo and Mima chocked on their tears. The two Controllers had become frozen, unable to move, as if they were preserved in ice. Lucy however smiled in relief. As the shock settled in, the two Controllers slowly came to their senses; to their astonishment it revealed a completely unharmed Vargas. Except, for one flaw. His right arm had been completely severed; Vargas stood still coughing up a small amount of blood. He slowly walked over to Lucy, clutching onto his right shoulder that used to be connected to an arm. Gasping for breath every couple of steps.

"Could you be any slower zombie geezer, I didn't hit you that hard." Lucy held her axe out in front of her and it dissolved into thin air leaving traces of light red and blue sparkles. "To think we thought you were strong." She added with a puff.

Leo was still frozen, not in fear anymore but in amazement that his Voodoo Doll wasn't killed and for his sake wasn't blackened. He collapsed to his knees. "Why! Why didn't you blacken him Lucy and Mima! You think this a joke, if you found us that weak then...Then!" Leo's tears rang throughout the park, the birds squawked in return.

"That's enough Leo!" Vargas shouted, finally reaching Lucy’s side. "Why did you guys spare my life?" The older Voodoo Doll fell on Lucy's shoulder. Dripping a pint of blood onto her blue, elegant dress, Lucy softly blew his long strains of dark blue hair away from his neck and placed her mouth to his ear.

"You care for Leo; you would do anything to protect him. Even though he is as annoying and loud as he is." Lucy rolled her light red eyes at the comment.

"Leo, listen." Mima walked over the adolescent boy holding his hand in her soft pale ones. "I don't know how many Voodoo Dolls are left or if I will be strong enough to reach the prize. But I have one wish, to spend as much time with Lucy as I can." Her soft, childlike voice spoke.

Leo looked behind Mima’s head fanatically looking at Vargas; the thought of him surviving still hadn't sunk in. Tears still feel down his face but the boy fought them back, he turned his attention back to Mima and his checks turned a slight rosy shade of red.

"Alright!" Leo stood up carefully letting go of Mima’s hands and giving her a look of determination. He pointed his finger at Lucy and his mouth opened wide. "That's it; Lucy will be your new rival Vargas! I can't believe we own these two one now. Come on let's go train harder!" Leo stormed off leaving Vargas on Lucy’s shoulder.

"Damn those kids got too much energy." Vargas looked at Lucy; his ocean blue eyes tired but still had spirit. “I don't care if I only have one arm Lucy La' More. I will cherish the time I spend with Leo and...If it ever gets down to the two of us, I will win the prize." Vargas suddenly vanished into thin air leaving a cool wind blast in Lucy's face.

The red ribboned Voodoo Doll charged towards Mima and brings her into a hug. "Damn it, I couldn't blacken those two." Lucy said mumbling into Mima’s red over hang.

"That just means they were good people not like all those empty connections we have faced lately." Mima said stroking the pink hair of her doll. "Hopefully we will both get stronger and one day we can face each other again, but not for the prize this time. For the time we spend together." Lucy hugged Mima even tighter making Mima's cat eared cap fall off and land softly on the floor.

  6. Episode 5:

~Whãt Gåmę Šhøûłd Wę Płãÿ? ~

The night’s darkness feel upon the city streets, the light from cars and businesses were the only saviour. From a block of land stood a thirteen story high apartment complex, the sides where decorated with balconies on two opposite sides of the building. With windows creating a source of bright light illuminating from the complex, it was on the seventh balcony upwards where a small shadow of an older teen stood leaning on the rail and staring up into the night lights.

"Starry night that is oh so bright, why do you hide? Afraid of the colourful and catchy lights that shine so bright that you cannot see your brightness. Are you going to hide forever or am I going to hunt you down and find you in a place where you can be at peace?" The teenager let out a humble sigh and ruffled his silky, faded black hair. His purple eyes filled with interest and wonder where still fixated on the night sky. A slight creak from the sliding glass door saw a shorter but same aged boy appear next to the taller teenager’s side. The soft breeze of the wind danced off of the boys’ short, bed-head styled, silver hair.

"Yusuke." His cool, calm and refreshing voice had the same impact as an ice block slowly dripping down hot, sweaty skin on a summer’s day.

"Ichiru you start at a new school today shouldn't you be getting some rest?" Yusuke slid his short arm around the neck of the taller, purple eyed Ichiru.

"You’re a Voodoo Doll not my mother; quit it with the worrying stuff." Ichiru stared into the concerned, brighter then sky blue eyes of his Voodoo. Seeing the look in Yusuke’s eyes Ichiru throw off Yusuke’s arm from his shoulder and playfully punched it. “What am I going to do with you?” The purple eyed teenager let out an annoyed but tolerant sigh and proceeded to pull out a boxed shape item from Yusuke’s pocket of his dirty cream coat. The bright blue eyes of Yusuke lit up at the sight to see his favourite pack of playing cards; the box was traced with red and white diamond checks. Stamped with a highlighted, shiny gold moon that graced its presence in the middle of all sides of the card shaped box.

“What game do you want to play Ichiru?” Yusuke said trying to hide a huge grin, though creating a slight pink blush in the process.

The night was now being used to hold one of the most spirited card games most normal people would see in their lives. As the morning sun peaked its out from the other side of the world a shadow formed in front of the basking light. It wasn’t a huge one only a small almost card-shaped shadow, the shadow was now headed towards the ground of Ichiru’s and Yusuke’s buildings street corner along with its physical companion.

“I-CHI-RU!” Yusuke bellowed holding on to the side rail of the balcony, his body now half way over and hanging over empty space.

“The Queens been de-throned I guess.” Ichiru said nonchalantly shrugging braking out in a small nervous laugh.

Yusuke though on the other hand didn’t look so calm, the Voodoo Doll clenched his fists showing the bare wrinkles of both hands. The short silver haired boy suddenly through is whole body over the balcony then proceeded to jump right back behind Ichiru. Yusuke pulled Ichiru into a head lock and shoved the playing card in his face.

“Read the card Ichiru.” Yusuke demanded with a crisp and almost disturbing voice.

Blinking Ichiru looked at the card with a degree of concentration. “It’s the Queen of Diamonds. So what?”

At that comment Yusuke released Ichiru from the ineffective head lock and kicked him in the side. “That’s the most important card of any deck for a Card Master! If the Queen of Diamonds is lost so am I.”

Ichiru let out another sigh for the night, well morning now. “So what your telling me is that you sense of life is based of playing cards and fighting?” Yusuke nodded to the question. “At least it makes more sense than girls. Hey how long have we been outside for?” Yusuke had a puzzled look on his face and checked the suns position.

“All night I suggest.” At the comment the two boys heard a soft an irritating noise of a bell. Yusuke placed the playing card back into its package and slid it into his pocket. “Isn’t that your school bell Ichiru?”

The taller teenager jumped up in alarm, the whites of his purple eyes clearly visible as he crouched down and slumped. “I don’t want to go, to many people. They annoy me Yusuke.” Ichiru had a sickening sadness in his voice barely mumbling making sure that Yusuke only just scarcely heard.

Now it was Yusuke’s turn to sigh, wrapping his small arms around Ichiru’s curled up posture. Yusuke brushed Ichiru’s faded black hair away from his ear and moved his mouth just millimetres away from his ear, whispering. “Calm down Ichiru, I’ll be watching over you and I won’t let anything bad happen to you. You won’t lose this fight nor will we lose the battle of the Voodoo Doll.”

The two slowly got up got themselves together. “You got five minutes to get to school on time by the way Ichiru.” Yusuke said jumping up onto the roof and slowly disappeared gracefully leaping from on roof top to another to the direction of Ichiru’s new high school.

“Crap!” Ichiru screamed sprinting inside the apartment, grabbing his grey school bag and locking the door behind him.
