Hmmm... Basically I'm a deistic agnostic. I believe in deistic agnostisism. I'll say deism for short. That basically means I believe in a higher power , might as well call God, who created the universe. This God created all the sciences, laws of nature ( photosynthesis, gravity, water cycle, etc etc) that we know. God created those in a way so that they get started then the entire universe works it out on its own. Same works for humans, God decided to make life along the way but God is distant, does not care about interfering with our lives at all ( as well does not care at all if we pray, " listen", or look at any bible). God in my view only looks down on us, watches us and the universe, then judges after we die to go to hell or not. Heaven or hell is determined by not the deeds you do or people you convert. It is determined by how you affect other people's lives in general. I believe in this because I think a lot of what Christianity preaches is BS. I do not really mean to start an arguement but thats what I think. A person should not go to hell just because they do not experience salvation or whatever. I think there does need to be a cause for the start of the universe. I do not think our lives go on without being looked over
That point regarding God and Santa being nearly the same thing. I see where you get it. You can believe in both of them, but there is no real way to tell if either is real. They are both myths who people will tell you is real, but there is no way to find out if they are telling the truth or false.
I believe there's only one God. which is the God father. if Jesus is God, probably he wouldn't feel pain and all his sufferings. God doesn't feel pain, doesn't gain wounds. like normal people do. I don't believe in saints. first they're wood made by man. which said to be idolatry. second, people used it as if it's God or something especially the black Nazarene people died just to touch the wood made by man. it's an idea of man. if you knw ten commandments, people praised the golden statue. and they where punished by God. not here to debate or something, we all haVe beliefs. and this is mine. just saying.
That is why I say Im SPIRITUAL and not religious. But, Im still a christian. And you are correct there are some "christians" who try to tell you a bunch of crap. Believe me I know. And the bible...some things I dont believe in it, either... that is why I said its up to YOU to figure out what YOU believe in. Its YOUR life and YOUR journey. You know you better than anyone else do...so, its all on you. Me being a christian, feels its best for me to pray, read and listen. God do talk back. Most the time He do tell me things I dont want to hear. But, it is what I need to hear. Sometimes it even feels like He forgot about me....truth is....most the time I forget about Him... I love my God in Three Persons, Blessed Trinity. I think its awesome learning about other religions, too.
@Dan - Maybe we're just an experiment? It would explain why We're not TRULY influenced by a "higher Being" and why we're all different. As for "God" speaking to you, I've seen people Fake speaking in tongues. I've seen people say "God told them to" (which is a common excuse used by psychopaths to justify their actions) Christanity is (In my opinion) A bunch of Hypocritical bullshit. Most preach about Kindness and Giving, yet they can be some of the most selfish and intolerent. They preach Loving thy neighbor then turn and condemn Anyone who is different Ie, Homosexuals. And Yes, Before you post, I know not ALL christians are like this and that there are Hypocrites in all religions, But Its more publicized for Christians to be such.
According to Christianity, God cares about everyone. That being said, I'm a Christian. However, I can't view God as the be all and end all. Yes, I believe in God. Yes, I believe that he's the God. But I don't believe in faulting others for their beliefs. For example: I find it difficult to believe that way back when when the majority of Native Americans solely believed that there were different gods for each thing...I don't believe that they went to Hell for that. The basis of their belief, I think, is almost essentially the same as Christians. So why would they go to Hell for just dividing up what God does I to different and smaller deities? So...Christian, yes. Other religions? Acceptable. Giving God another name, a different look, a slightly different outlook on life and life after death? Perfectly fine.
I'm atheist but I do not hate (most) Catholics, the only ones I do are the ones who try saying I'll burn in hell or try stuffing their religion down my throat. Everyone needs to be open minded to others beliefs
I switch between Atheism and Catholism. Depends... Whenever I am bored and thinking about religion/science, I decide that God is not real and religion is just something our brains have made up to keep us sane. (or some at the moment inexplicable thing of nature. An example of this is some habits certain animals have but we simply cannot explain) However, whenever life decides to stop being a total bitch or whenever I listen to the lengths people go to believe in their faith, I'm awed and temporarily "converted".
@Emiru... I know Ive seen people fake speaking in tongue, too... I didnt want them to touch me either. Scares the crap out of me. The correct way to go about speaking in tongues is the have a translator there to tell the congregation whats being said. Which is never. So, they are false. I get up and run! And if you read what I put you wouldhave seen that most the time God speaks to me, He tells me things I dont want to hear.
As for christians judging "different" people...the bible do states that u are to cast those "different" people out ur group. As I just said I dont believe everything the Bible says... it contradicts itself. I believe God can only judge us. And He will, the way He sees fit.

I do and don't believe. I mean like, look back to the dinosaurs. They were there before any spiritual being. So were other animals. I believe more in darwinism that we all evolved from apes. But, I also believe every single one of us has a little part of fate in us like what's meant to be will always find it's way. All depends on everyones view.
