Before I start, I would like to say this forum is not to start a religion war or give people a reason to bash on each other because of what they believe. I am creating this because I want to maybe learn something knew and see deeper into other's beliefs. What do you believe in? Do you believe in God? A higher power? Nothing? Personally, I do not believe in God, but that doesn't mean I won't ever. My reasoning like many others is that I have not been presented with enough proof.I believe God is an idea along with Santa and the other holiday characters. Why? Perhaps help in one being able to live a structured life. If you think different please tell why, but be mature about it. Do not try to press your religion onto someone else. By doing this, I am hoping to start up an educated conversation.
I believe in the Hindu Gods, thought I not Hindu myself, I'm Christian. The reason is, because there are stories about how these Gods came about, whereas, with 'God', there are no stories that I've heard of how he came about us.
My opinion is the same spanking, I believe the same exact thing as you do. I've never heard anyone else refer to god as being somewhat like Santa before. I've said that for a long time
I believe people believe in different things because their different. It does not matter what religion you come from because people interpret things differently than others from same religion. I believe in God regardless of lack of prof as you said; I don't think that to be the case and either way i do not need it to believe. I have faith that He does exist. It really comes down to faith. You want us to explain our reasoning behind our believes? Other than what I just posted above, that is a difficult thing to do. I cannot simply explain something so complex. I am not about to preach to you what the bible says because it would be useless. You believe what you believe and I believe what I believe. I feel compelled to tell you that Santa Claus and God are different. Santa Clause is a commercial holiday that you celebrate once a year, while God is a powerful being that created the world. Regardless of what you believe, that is how God is seen and defined by those that believe. Comparing Santa Claus to God is wrong and insulting.
Well, I personally am a Christian. However I cannot preach that God is real. For all we know he could be just a fiction of someone's imagination. Nevertheless I do believe that there is a greater force up there. There must be something or someone that was the first to exist. But as I said it could or could not be the one we call God. Every religion has its own supreme deity. How are we supposed to know which of them is real? We can't, but everyone is allowed to believe in whatever they want. To sum up, I think a greater being does exists though I have no idea what form that being has.
Im a very SPIRTUAL christian........ I do believe in God, in Three Person... Blessed Trinity.... God, the Father. God, the Son. God, the Holy Spirit. I believe u have pray and read the Bible yourself. Pray, study and listen. Pray study and listen. Pray, study and listen. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY! Study! Study! Study! LISTEN! LISTEN! LISTEN! God is listening and He talk back... He may not come when you want Him. But He's always on time. You have to find that connection with God. Its up to you. Noone else. And thats why you should PRAY, read and study the Bible. Pray some more and then LISTEN. But keep praying.
As for churches after money and preachers wanting money..... I dont like that at all!!! I despise money hungry moochers! But NEVER let that stop you from getting to know God, personally. Also, remember everyone's relationship with God is different. So, never let that make you feel less. You just have to keep praying and build your relationship wit God. It takes time and patience. But keep on keeping on. It is worth it.
Eh…I have complicated beliefs. I believe that EVERYONE has a reason to be here, I also believe in treating the Earth right (its the only planet we have right now. :/) And treating animals with respect. I meditate, Make Wishes and believe with most of my heart that theres something out there that makes it all worth it. if its a God or something just as complex, Im not sure. I believe my inner peace is worth more than defending a God to people who walk their own path. (Not directed at OP just in general) And I can honestly say Ive felt close to Nirvana. I guess…Its a mixture of Buddism, Wicca and a few other religions. As for how my beliefs formed? I witnessed the greed Intolerance and selfishness of some Christians and decided then and there that I wanted nothing to do with it. Yes. I do realize not all christians are like that But these few were bad enough to make me change.
My religion is a catholic ... we do believe in many saints .. and god but we have only 1 powerful god and that is jesus christ ... -just sharing
