  1. The Guide to Writing in Fan Fic.

Hi PIMD-pians new and old, welcome to the world of fan fiction, where imaginations run wild, stories are told, history retold, and legends are made.

However, to live in the world of fiction, one must follow some rules. Yes, rules - or guides, as I like to call it.
So listen up, and listen good.
Break these rules, and await a punishment that will stir up your darker side, and cause you grief.
Break these rules... and face the wrath of the Trolls.

Enough has been said, let's begin.

    1) Do not bring any other topics into Fan Fiction EXCEPT for Fan Fiction i.e Stories, Poems

Yes, the first and simplest rule my dear PIMD-pians, is to use the thumping piece of tofu like substance in your skull, (Commonly known as the brain) to accurately place your threads. Any irrelevant threads will be locked (no negotiations nor whining will be tolerated by the Fan Fiction community).

    2) Do not start Random Writing Contests

Do this, and you can be sure that no one will participate.
The key to starting a good contest is in first, getting to know your fellow writers/readers. The Fan Fiction community is not very big (we are also not listed in 'Active Topics'), and we are quick to sieve out any newbies. Even if you may be active on other parts of the forum, Fan Fiction is a purely different world.
Earn your stripes here before running wild with your contest ideas.
(In other words, write stories that people enjoy, get known, then try to start something)
Moreover, if there is already a contest going on, don't start another one! Writers cannot write too many pieces at one go.
    3. Do not create REPEAT Threads

Meaning, do not create threads that have already been created (or that others have already created). (duh)
Fan Fiction is by far one of the cleanest categories in the forum, and we would like to keep it that way. No threads that cause clutter will be tolerated.
This rule applies if your inner dark side decides to create Similar Threads, Already Created Threads (but trying to get famous) and any other urge that can get you Trolled.
Note: THIS ALSO APPLIES IF YOU INTEND TO WRITE A SIMILAR STORY THAT OTHERS HAVE ALREADY WRITTEN. (Put in all caps for a reason)

Moreover, please finish writing your stories before starting another one. It's okay to go slow, but not okay to leave it unfinished.

    4. Get Your Facts Right! Do Research!

Yes, you may base your stories on Nordic, Greek, Roman, Ancient Chinese Mythology (Or whatever others), but do not get your facts wrong. It is one thing to write your side to a mythology, but don't get your basic stuff wrong. Example, Thor is the son of Odin. Don't change these main facts.
    Enough Said.

    5. Take and Give constructive Criticism

The people who have been on Fan Fiction for awhile are generally nice, unless you give truly horrible pieces and expect the general reader to like it.
They might correct your English (Like Danzo does), they might say your piece is boring, or they might say that the story is just bad.
Take these comments in your stride and work on that. At the end of the say, we do not want you to be restricted in the way you write.
If you choose to ignore these comments, it's fine. But if you get mean, and start breaking the ToU, you can be sure that the other PIMD-pians will not be nice (maybe).

    6. Have Fun

    Without breaking the ToU.
Cuss words are allowed in the stories (but in moderation please)

We now welcome you into the world of Fan Fiction, and we wish you all the best in your futile endeavours. Oh, I meant future endeavours.

    Write on!
