  4. Detective C.T. City's point of view:

The case that I had been working on for almost an entire year had been stolen. The suspects Tristin Mail, Roger Milson, and Alyssa Night.
I myself can't believe these three would steal a case like mine.
What was their benefit? I was notified about an hour ago and I've been standing here for minutes trying to deduct this through my mind, when Roger spoke out.
"What evidence do you have to frame us!" He spoke assuredly. I liked his absolute voice of tone when the girl Alyssa who had been told to wait outside barged in.
"Yeah is this some kinda sick joke?!" Her voice tinted with regretfullness but I admire her strength.
Mr. Golburg who had been the announcer, and the one who found the evidence accusing them spoke up.
If I'm right he had told me before they stepped into his office they had searched them, finding crucial evidence inside the right pocket of Ms. Night. As he pulled the evidence out he simply said,
"It's this," in light of the events that had unfolded infront of my eye this was most troubling. It was a ripped parchment paper that had.
"Meet me by the corner, we'll swing by the files then," written on it.
Strange though it was an absurd move these three look quite smart. There would be no way they could just have a crucial piece of evidence as this on them unless they were...

"Oh c'mon what idiot in the right mind would carry around walking evidence on them," This time it was Tristin I heard.
I liked his deduction in fact it astonished me, he took the words right out of my mouth. Now to see where this interesting conversation was headed.

    Tristin's point of view:

Framed?! And now this hottie's on our case I can't believe it! Especially when that piece of parchment was brought out.
Honestly I don't know what Alyssa was doing with it, if she wanted to frame us she wouldn't carelessly leave something like that in her pocket. This was getting deep Alyssa wasn't the girl to do something like this, and what benefit would she get if she was?
While I was lost in deep thought the man Mr. Golburg if I'm right spoke up.
"We'll have security escort you to the station, I believe there's nothing more to say,"
I stood up both fists clenched almost seeming like I would attack him but before I could even step forward Roger stood up and whispered,

"Let it go," I was pissed I...I words couldn't describe how I felt!!
Mr. Golburg was preparing arrangements for us to leave with special police task force when my beloved C.t. Said something I'll never forget, she gave us our chance! A chance to clear our names,
"If you really want to prove your innocence lets make a deal, I do not believe you three did this crime, nor do I believe you would do such a thing," she stood up straighter and smiled at us.
"I solved that case in a time frame of three months one of my longest cases. Therefore you have three months to clear your names. There's also a catch, you must find the culprit, have supporting evidence, and find out the culprits true intentions in this,"
She quickly pulled out a file from her bag, and tossed it at me.
"It's your choice to except it or not," she smirked I think she already knew my answer.

As I caught the file hurled at me I winked.

"Three months is all the time we need! I accept this!" I looked around Alyssa and Roger giving me the nod as Mr. Golburg smiled as well. With this our case was fetched, now it was time for us to solve it.

    End of chapter 1~

  9. -Chapter 2: Dawn of a New Era! Modern Day Sherlock’s-

    Vivi’s Point of View:

Yesterday was a major headache for me and unfortunately that meant my brother too, I quietly sneaked around the white, concreted wall that divided mine and Rogers’s bedrooms. My brother was at it again, he held the latest version camera wiping the lenses in small circles with a white rag. His grey tinted eyes couldn’t concentrate on what he was doing though, his eyes intensified as he looked at a wooden picture frame containing a photo of him and Tristan running around Tristan’s backyard. The kitchen was visible in the background of the photographic and if you paid close attention you could see my orange hair tied up into piggy tails with two yellow ribbons helping Misses Mail with what looked like cooking. You could see the picture was taken a while back; it looked like the boys were around ten. Tristan was always inviting us over and his mother had always treated as with kindness like Roger and I were her own children. She was the closest thing to a mother I would ever hope to know, I could feel a small tear escape my eye but I couldn’t wallow over something that I never had and I couldn’t let my dear brother see me like this. I quickly wiped the tear from my face and barged into Rogers’s room.

“Come on don’t tell me you’ve forgotten the time.” I said trying to get his butt moving.

“Don’t worry Vivi I know, besides if we add onto the fact that Tristan’s defiantly going to show up late will have plenty of time before we have to go meet up at the café.” His voice was calm and easy as he held up his high-tech camera to his eye and surveyed the room.

I sighed and through my pale arms into the air. “How dare you keep a lady waiting!” His grey tinted eyes looked confused at first.

“What…Lady…?” Finally it clicked into his head. “Alyssa! Oh man she doesn’t have a clue about Tristan’s punctuality!” He quickly got up and packed his camera into his orange smaller then averaged size backpack. He stormed out of the room but not till his kissed me lightly on the soft, pale surface skin of my cheek. “Catch up with us later on ok.” Was his last words as he headed out the door of our small now quiet apartment.

    Alyssa’s Point of View:

This was strange I thought to myself, I thought those two were supposed to meet me at four at Lil’ Chino’s Café to discuss our next move. After being framed the three of us were given three months to find the real culprit, it was an easy decision to put all our experience into one. Though I don’t know how good my experience will be, I just started this job a little while ago just graduated too not too long ago maybe a month or two now. My soft, dry lips let out a sigh as I asked the café waitress for a drink of water. I can’t let myself be psyched out anymore, this is your dream Alyssa! This is what you’ve been dreaming of since you were a kid, Nancy Drew leading you through as inspiration. Though I admit it was supposed to be the other way around with me going after the bad guys but this is also a part of being a detective. Suddenly my vision went black and I felt a wave of heat rush through my whole body.

“Miss are you ok!” I could hear the female waitress wail as I slowly opened my eyes to find that the burning sensation was coming from a hot drink of coffee. Suddenly a vaguely familiar voice rushed to the round table I was sitting at as the waitress passed me a cloth and ice to place on my lap.

“Tristan what are you doing!” The voice was now detected to be that of Rogers and from his reaction the idiot that spilt coffee was none other than Tristan. I glared at him hoping that my green boarder lining blue eyes would pierce into his soul.

“It was a complete accident Roger you know me! It sort of…Happened. I was hoping to greet her by giving her the drink she ordered but…” His voice still sounded confident and had the same joking attitude like the first time we meet. Though I could tell Roger wasn’t pleased until he started to quietly laugh as Tristan followed.

“Sorry Alyssa.” I thought Roger was the reasonable? Clearly I’m missing something about spilling HOT coffee onto a young lady!

Tristan picked up the ice pack that the waitress had got for me and started to crush the ice more with his strong, tanned, big man hands. “Are you trying to make a slushy?” I asked in a sarcastic voice.

Tristan turned to me his dark blue eyes staring at my forehead. “It’s a small trick I learnt from my mother that helps speed up the ices cooling process. You should also remember to take in on and off every ten minutes.” I started at him in disbelief. “What is it?” He asked slightly blushing. ‘Come on isn’t the point of meeting here to discuss what we are going to do next.” Roger was still cracking a light smile as he and Tristan went to sit on the opposite side of the table from me.

“What is the plan then?” I asked looking towards Roger, but then Roger suddenly pointed to Tristan.

Tristan nodded. “The first thing that would help is to gather information about the case itself, who it involves. That means going to the Underground and digging up some dirt. What do you guys think?” He looked at both of us, her seemed confident and knew what he was doing. I aspire to be like that but for now I’ll settle for learning the basics.

“What’s the Underground?” I couldn’t help but feel out of my league.

“It’s like a city, polar opposite to ours. The laws don’t exists down there it’s located underground as the name suggests, majority of our investigations are about that place. Though it seems like all the bad guys are in one nice little area but the Underground is as huge as the one we are in now. What’s more as families and people with money problems live there as well making a living out of nothing.” Roger clenched his fists.

“It’s not a good place to visit, Vivi has a friend that family lives there. Its dirty living conditions but it is how most families get food. Lucky that kid is on our side, I’m sure if we ask he would know something wouldn’t you agree Roger.” Tristan looked at him completely ignoring me. Roger nodded and looked out the window next to our table.

“I’m sure Jinko would know something, we can go visit him when he gets back from studding with Vivi.” We all nodded in agreement, we finally got our plan…But the burning sensation is still there.

  13. Vivi's point of view:

I kept reviewing events by in my head it had taken me a while to understand their little plan but honestly why drag Jinko into this? With the motivation to help Roger and friends to clear their name I decided to help at last.

I took them to Jinko and the underground. We passed by a lot of things on the way there giving them hints, and tips since I come here once in a while to visit Jinko I hadn't seen his family often.

"Don't listen to the beggers here, they're not like they are elsewhere you get within two feet and I don't know if I can help you," I spoke with intense seriousness in my voice.

"How're supposed to deal with the pressure of being stared at?" Roger asked quietly he's always felt awkward when people stared at him, in the shotgun next to me Tristin chuckled.

"Do you have a problem with people looking at you?" Alyssa asked sweetly.

"N-no! I mean they could have, well...nasty looks in their eyes," he tried responding as much as normal.

Tristin laughed harder, I stopped the car for a brief moment getting up to look Tristin in the eye.

"It's quite rude to laugh!" I curled my hand into a fist and landed it on his head, and then continued driving.

It was pretty silent for a while as we passed by ruins we heard sirens and saw people in alley's, until Tristin coughed.

"Sorry," he spoke quickly, Rogers face was red with embarrassment as he mouthed 'Apologize' to me through the mirror I scuffed.

"Geez I'm sorry as well, my actions were bent on anger,"

    Tristin laughed.
"Never say sorry, it doesn't fit your personality,"

The car rumbled with laughter even Alyssa made some slight chuckles, my face red with embarrassment as I parked the car infront of a rundown looking building.

"This is it," I simply said.

We had passed by numerous places, but none were Jinko's. The outside of his home had bricks peeled off profanity and blood stains on sides of the building. I took them up to the 4th floor using the creaky stairwell since the elevator was out of order.

I looked down at a piece of paper
'4189 Streetfurd 88th on Bentley, room number 00198'
This was it I knocked on the door as I saw a familiar face through the peep hole as the door soon creaked open.

    "Jinko!"

    Jinko's point of view:

I didn't know what was going on my mother and I were worried when we heard the door knock. I thought it was Rigara's "collectors" they'd come by every now and then stripping us down of what we had.

Mom, Kari and I couldn't live in these situations. Kari was just three she needed to grow up in a better place I found mom hanging around the orphanage one day when Kari was one,

"Don't you think she'd be better off there?" She smiled without looking at me.

"If you want a messed up foster family, not knowing your real family, you get pissed at them thinking 'why didn't you want me?' Neglected and at age 18 being drove outta all the home you had being forced to live on your own," I said kicking a can across the empty street.

"Jinko..we don't have what a 'normal' family has," she looked at Kari sadly before looking back up.

It was that damn look thy turned me as well as the first time the "collectors" arrived. The stripped us of mattresses even baby Kari's crib they took our living money, all that we had.

It pushed me to stealing and dealing...stole and sold. That was my motto, they knew me as 'quick hands Jinko' I could deal with it fast I was at the top.

Then I got caught...by her Vivi walking into Starbucks one day on her late night shift was not the smartest thing for me to do. She caught my hand at the cash register threatening to turn me in to the police.

Instead I ended up telling her my life story..the works, everything. She took me home that day promising to help me as much as she could.

Everyday since then I'd walk by Starbucks seeing her smile was the happiest thing for me. Every time she got paid she'd give me half of her cashed paycheck, I always declined it but,

"You need it more than I do," was all she would ever say.

The more we got close the more I felt comfortable with her. Like a big sister, almost. She got me a small job at Starbucks all I did was clean, but it got me considerable pay.

I snapped out of my little flashback checking the cracked peephole carefully as I saw that orange hair I unlocked the door immediately.

"Jinko!" She smiled waving. I ran up and embraced her, I was taller than her so it was quite strange. She was a bit short or her age, but her beauty made up for it.

"Vivi and I see you brought guests," my eyes narrowed "come in,"

My mother stood up straightening her skirt, while baby Kari stomped around happily.

Vivi walked up to my mom to introduce herself and the others, I surveyed the hall before shutting the door.

    "Ah hello there Ms...Ms..."

"Atsugi," she smiled "it's nice to meet you,"
    Vivi smiled back,

"Ah yes!" She said pointing at a man with rusty red hair and grey eyes as she said,

"This is my brother Roger," next she pointed at a girl with dirty blond hair and blue-green eyes,

"This is our friend Alyssa," next she pointed at a man with shaggy brown hair tied into a small ponytail, and dark blue eyes,

"That's Tristin pay zero attention to him,"

"Vivi, I'm the most important one and you give me a crappy intro," he said tugging at her hair intently.

    They must be friendly...

"Does anyone want anything?" Mom asked filled with happiness and excited that I have friends over.

Vivi shook her head, Tristin opened his mouth as to speak,

"We'll, actu-" Vivi shoved his shoulder causing him to stutter.

"We're fine it's ok Ms. Atsugi," she smiled.

I pointed at chairs at the center of the empty two room home where we sat down.

I immediately hit the main point in my mind, Vivi doesn't like the underground, but why is she here..and why did she bring others.

    Jinko’s Point of View:

Why was Vivi here, she hates all this sort of stuff. Why are her friends here anyway to bring it up to more suspicious circumstance? Is it just me or do they all look like idiots, one her brother all he does is stand there looking pretty not saying much, not much personality wise to boot. The nervous nelly hanging behind the guy surveying everything, gosh she doesn’t look like she has a clue what she’s doing and last but not at all the best, that dumb shaggy haired guy who thinks he’s a ladies man. Always glancing back between my mother, Vivi and Kari what’s up with that. I gestured them to follow me outside, I had a feeling that they didn’t want to talk about what they wanted in front of my mother.

“What’s up Vivi? This is certainly out of character for you.” I asked looking at her mud brown eyes and jerking my head back making my murky blue hair jitter.

She looked down at the ground and raised her hand over to her big brother Roger, his grey tinted eyes bugged out and he started to stumble.

“Umm, well, umm Jinko was it?” I nodded and breathed a heavy sigh, I surveyed the outside somehow it was different from the other days where I would just sit outside here and read. It was too quiet and unless everyone has decided to disappear this wasn’t normal! The careless paved concrete streets had no sights of broken down noodle karts or little kids running on them, the small squashed in apartments where all close and you could hear the faint wailing of a young child.

“Umm well we need your help, umm locating this guy and…” Rogers hand was suddenly clamed shut by Tristan’s.

“You idiot that’s not how you ask for help and can’t you guys so anything remotely out of place?” Roger looked into Tristan’s dark blue eyes with regret, wait did this Tristan guy actually have respect!

“So you see it to ladies’ man?” I asked sounding as unimpressed as I was, did it really take this guy to see it. Man no wonder they need my help.

“Ha-ha you see my wonderful skills young one but to bad your still just a kid otherwise I could show you a trick or two.” He had a smile on his face that worried me, what, wait is Vivi really friends with this guy. I looked over to her and gave her a ‘are you serious’ look, when I turned she was. The girl I thought was caring, had beauty for miles and brains to match was...Was laughing with that remark! So much for her, I wonder if normal girls my age were like this, the ones who got to actually go to school and have lunch with one another without the worry the guy wants to take your lunch.

“Listen, what guy you want to find because I have my own business I need to check up on.” I asked almost running out of patience and sanity.

“What business do you have Jinko?” Vivi asked hopefully returning to normal.

I glared at her, why did she have to be so noisy anyway. “Nothing I’m just…” Damn it I can’t lie to her she’s helped my family and I so much the least I could do is always tell her the truth. “Just going to have a word with Franky D. Rigara.” Suddenly their faces dropped.

    Alyssa’s Point of View:

Did he just say Franky D. Rigara, the son of Dan. F Rigara! Finally our first lead, but why would this little teenager wants to do with him? I looked up to the dark sky, it want really a sky though just an ongoing flat surface across the Underground. If I were to live someplace like here every day could I do it? How did Jinko decided to take things into his own hands, even with stealing at least he done something. Apparently we were half way to the place the Franky Rigara resided when Roger slightly pinched the soft surface of my pale right arm.

He whispered to me as our group walked, “Alyssa came back to Earth okay?” I turned to him giggling a touch.

“Sorry Roger I guess I was deep in thought, what did I miss?” He chuckled back and punched me playfully.

“Listen I thought you were good at deduction so deduct. Anyway Jinko and Tristan have planned…Well with the help of Vivi of course to interrogate the guy while you, Vivi and I take a look around this place to see if we can find out if it’s so quiet. For Jinko’s sake more or less.” He spoke with a calm tone, not like the stumbling buffoon he was with Jinko.

“Thanks I guess this will be the first time we would be pairing up as detectives.” I smiled and took a glimpse of his face; his checks had a slight rosy tone to them as he rubbed his head.

“I su…Suppose yeah the first time. I’m grateful to be able to work with you Miss Night.” He bowed to me unexpectedly and I could hear the chuckles coming from Vivi, Tristan and now the teenager that has joined us Jinko.

“Roger are you alright?” I asked looking worried and confused, “This isn’t like you.”

He started to play with his coat and looked to the ground. “No everything is fine.” He took a deep breath and looked straight at my confusingly green-blue eyes. “I guess I’m just a bit out of it today.

“Hey you two! We’re here.” Tristan shouted at us as Vivi gestured him to keep his mouth shut.

“Geez you can learn to be a bit more you know, aren’t you a detective?” Vivi placed her hands on her hips as she scolded Tristan.

“Vivi your brother is always in daydream land at that’s how I’ve always gotten his attention and it’s worked out so well so far.” They began to squabble when Jinko tried to step in making it more a mess; they all got into an uproar about the noise when suddenly a bigger then above averaged muscled bloke came from behind Tristan.

“Are you five here to see Master Franky?” He asked in the deepest and scary voice I’ve ever heard.
