Firefly (RP)

(based off of the television show Firefly.)
Once the earth got used up, humanity moved to a new solar system, terraforming dozens of planets and thousands of moons. The central planets formed the Alliance, and decided that everybody should be united under their rule.
There was some disagreement on this.
After the dust of the Unification war had settled, former rebel Browncoats had no place in the Alliance. A ship would find you work. A gun would help you keep it. A captain's mission was simple: Find a crew. Find a job. Keep flying.

The year is 2517, several years after the war.
Western and Chinese culture has mingled, as the USA and China were the two major countries to expand into space, and nearly everybody speaks both English and Chinese. Chinese words are substituted for curses, and certain words have new meanings or have been invented altogether, for instance-
Gorram: Goddamn
Shiny: Nice, cool, good
'Verse: The system (or, sometimes, the whole universe.)

You live on the planet Persephone, in the large city surrounding the shipyards.

Yes, I was inspired by I_Need_Food's thread to make a real gorram Firefly roleplay.

Job: Mercenary, currently part of the crew of the cargo ship Serenity as a fighter
History: He grew up on a moon of one of the outer planets to a loving mother and father. He joined the crew of the Serenity after being offered his own bunk and room as opposed to sleeping with another bandit/mercenary in the group of mercenaries he was previously in.

 

Name: Mal Reynolds
Age: 35
Appearance:
Job: Captain of the Serenity
History: He grew up on a ranch on the outer planet Shadow, and joined the Browncoats when the war broke out, fighting as a sergeant. He lost his faith in God and became less playful and joking than he used to after seeing his men lose and die before his eyes at the battle of Serenity Valley. Now he captains a small cargo ship, often doing illegal transports to make a living for him and his crew.

And yeah, of course I'll eventually make character posts for the entire crew of the Serenity . Just not right now.
