At least for me, anyway. Now a few people may know that there is possibly a 13 Zodiac. That Zodiac is called Ophiuchus. Ophiuchus : November 29 - December 17 That being said, if this zodiac was implemented into society as scientists argue about it, all Scorpions are actually Ophiucans. The dates would also be shifted around, like so: Capricorn: Jan. 20 - Feb. 16 Aquarius: Feb. 16 - March 11 Pisces: March 11- April 18 Aries: April 18- May 13 Taurus: May 13- June 21 Gemini: June 21- July 20 Cancer: July 20- Aug. 10 Leo: Aug. 10- Sept. 16 Virgo: Sept. 16- Oct. 30 Libra: Oct. 30- Nov. 23 Scorpio: Nov. 23- Nov. 29 Ophiuchus: Nov. 29- Dec. 17 Sagittarius: Dec. 17- Jan. 20 Again, if you were a Scorpio, you'd actually be Ophiuchus. The sign, Ophiuchus, symbolizes a serpent-bearer and it's traits are seeking peace and wisdom, attracter of good luck and jealousy, interpreter of dreams, one who reaches the stars and wearer of plaid. Last one is strangely specified. Some people say that Ophiuchus was based off of Imhotep, who was a real person. The Greeks called him Aesclepius, and he was known for his knowledge of medicine in 27 BC. According to Roman era mythography, the figure represents the healer Asclepius, who learned the secrets of keeping death at bay after observing one serpent bringing another healing herbs. To prevent the entire human race from becoming immortal under Asclepius' care, Zeus killed him with a bolt of lightning, but later placed his image in the heavens to honor his good works. And if you're not sure how to pronounce it, say it like this: OFF-EE-YOU-KUS Like that. This very Zodiac was discovered sometime in 2011 and have been argued about several times by several people. Some people have even accepted the change of their Zodiac sign, so they could be different. Or something like that. So what are your thoughts about Ophiuchus? Why wouldn't the dates be changed around so that each sign gets an equal number of days? Libra is almost a month and Scorpio is 7 days? That makes no sense. All Scorpios would not be the new one. I'm a Scorpio and mine would change to Libra. And I refuse to not be a Scorpio. It fits me.
I know most wont accept it for the reason that many get their signs tattooed on them, so if it was added they would still go with what it used to be.
It just makes no sense. It's like trying to shove a square peg in a round hole. You're going to need to do some trimming to make it fit. So you trim all sides equally. You don't just cut off one corner. Where's this new sign even come from? Who decided there should be 13 zodiac signs?
Nobody decided that there should be 13. It's unofficial. I think I left out that Ophiuchus was discovered in 2011 officially but dates back hundreds of years ago. ._.
To clarify, this thread was sparked upon curiosity. A 13th zodiac. Who da thunk it? But another question remains for me, but it's irrelevant to this thread.
There has been 13 in Sidereal astrology for quite a long time. Most that follow it or where it is used is India and East Asia. It has been around for over 3,000 years and is due to the earth and sun rotating. It's not like someone just woke up one day and decided to make another one up.
