Hi Rose, It probably depends on how you want to send it, what weight and cost of the item. Is it for a family member, a friend? Gender. A token gift or something sentimental. There are some great online sites that can give you an idea of what might be good. Also depends on the person.
If you're from a warm climate originally - get her a rain coat but seriously make it personal. Something that when she looks at it will remind her of home and you. Even if its an old photo of the two of you together in a photo frame. Be creative and print off a map of Manchester and use it as a mount for the photo. ;-) Did the away from home bit, it was the personal gifts that lasted and kept me sane when I got homesick. ;-)
