This is my first heir-hunting novel, I hope you like it. At the end of each chapter, I will let the readers decide what happens, much like 'Royal Treatment'. I thought it a good idea so I might as well give it a try. The note made it clear. I was to leave the city before midnight tonight. My hands trembled, and the hairs on the back of my neck stood up as I read it. By midnight tonight, there will be no trace left of you. It will be like you never existed. If you are think you can outsmart me, I will kill every man, woman and child that helps you. Every one of them. It was 10pm. I had only two hours to escape, but I didn't know where to go. I tried phoning relatives, but the phone line got cut off. I tried googling motels near New York, but the internet went down. Nothing seemed to be going my way. I went downstairs, slipping the note in my back pocket. I sat in the living room with my mom, who I'd only been living with again for two weeks. I didn't want to tell her. I really didn't. Maybe I should use the same excuse my Dad used when he left. 'If I don't leave now, I'll be stuck here,' is what he said. I could see in my mom's eyes that she wasn't over my dad, and that Carl was just a re-bound boyfriend. I didn't want to hurt her, especially because she just got me back. In the end, I resorted to plan B, and made up the biggest lie I had ever told. 'He broke up with you?' exclaimed my mom. 'Yup, he was cheating on me,' I replied. 'Jessica! You can't leave, not now!' She yelled up the stairs after me. I felt a tear run down my cheek and ran back down the stairs with my bag. 'If I don't leave now, I'm gonna be stuck here just like dad!' I screamed as I slammed the door behind me. I got into my car and started the engine, I was now crying to my heart's extent. I broke my mom's heart.
I pulled out of the driveway.' I stopped reading at that moment. I had just found my long-lost daughter's diary. A SHORT PART TO KEEP YOU GUYS HOOKED!
