Proper Silencing

  1. Dear Charlie,

Rules were made to be respected. It goes the two ways around bro

  2. Dear Corn,

There's people who don't even respect they-selves. And other people. So they ain't gonna respect no TOU,

  3. I think it's good as it is. People silenced arent just pervs. I have 2 silences. 1 more and it'll be a perm. And they were bypasses. I dont wanna accidentally slip and get silenced and only talk in forums. Chatting in cc and pm would be important to me.

  4. Plus any public channels are taken away except for forums. They wont bother the public. And if they take it to forums they'll just get forum banned.
Im good with it as long as they keep their dirty sessions private.

  5. Yeah. Couldn't have said it better.

  6. Even if silenced will go back to normal people WILL still break rules

  7. Royale's post on the 1st page says it all.

This discussion tired me out as well as frustrated/angered me when I heard of it on kaw :|

  8. New way is alot better. U still can't spam wc with the things they do. It's just that they can pm and talk in club. What if your at war and need a message out? I have been silenced twice for dumb reasons, mainly people can't take jokes, and being able to pm and talk in cc does not promote being a perv.
Odds are if they pm and the girls or guys still talk to the Pervs then they have communication elsewhere. The way they do it now is 10x better in my opinion

  9. The people who support this new way of silencing are the same people who're willing to, or have already, broken rules.

The players who don't have a problem respecting those rules understand why this is a terrible decision.... Things won't change.

However, I ask the people who are okay with it this: you claim that these silences are good because the players who break rules aren't bothering the public... However, do those players truly deserve the right to communicate at all if they show that they can't respect the rules of the game? Clearly to have been silenced they have to have violated the rules in public chat channels, showing that they have a disrespect of the rules... And in my opinion those players don't deserve to communicate here at all.

  10. What if the worst offenses are treated with something like this:

First offense: banned for a day, complete silence the day after.

Second offense: banned for a week, complete silence for three days after.

Third offense: banned two weeks, complete silence for a week after.

Final offense: banned until further notice.

Minor offenses are dealt with by just the silences listed above, except the last one gets you banned for three days.

  11. Just a suggestion of how to avoid repeat offenders.

  12. We know and we are not happy about it. Please email support@athinkingape.com and let support know your feelings about this policy. The best way to affect change in PIMD is if we do it as a community.

  13. Charlie, didn't you make a huge deal the other day about quitting the forums and never coming back, yet a few days later here you are?

  14. When people are silenced, some delete PimD and don't return. The devs don't want to lose their players to silencing, so they made being silenced more convenient. That's just what I think.

  15. Not really, nobody cares about your opinion.

  16. I missed something, I think.

Is what I'm getting from this is that silenced people are silenced only from campus chat now? 

  17. No, silenced people can't wall, gift, or talk in campus. They can pm though, I don't know about club chat.

  18. Makes sense to me. It is just a game, and the devs want the least amount of spam. It's not like people will learn any life lessons by being silenced, and pm will keep people playing... Which is more money. So it's a win on their part.

  19. They can not Wall others, Talk in WC and Tc, Can't give gifts, can't update status.

They can talk in club chat, forums and Pm's
