  1. I sigh as I hit the back button to return to google.

How hard can it be to find some black skinny jeans?

Rolling my eyes, I close my laptop and stand up.

My eyes drift towards the clock on the wall.

It's 10:50, David was suppose to be home by now, and even if he's out doing something, he should have at least called.

I walk over to the fire in the side on the cabin, and I pout.

David usually brings home firewood, but since he's not here, the fire has died.

"Goddamn it David" I mutter as I stand up cross to the other side on the room.

It was his idea to stay in this cabin in the middle of nowhere, everyone kept bothering us while we were in the city, so we decided to have a mini vacation.

I grab my hat, my gloves, my jacket, and my flashlight and swing open the door.

The cabin is by a lake, and the sea breezes are kind of cold tonight, I wrap my jacket tighter around me, and close the door.

Quickly, I switch on my flashlight and scan the ground for snakes.

I don't see or hear anything, but I can smell something.

I turn to my left and look for the path for the way to out storage, it's were we store the firewood at.

Finally, I find it, and I start walking.

Don't get me wrong, I'm scared of the night, and I'm in the middle of no where, but we need firewood.

After about an hour, I reach the clearing, and there is David truck.

I practically run over to it, just to discover it's empty, yet the air is running, and the radio is playing.

I frown, is David still here?

"David!" I call out, shining my flashlight around.

No answer, yet whatever I smelt an hour ago is getting stronger.

Play the scary music now right?

Slowly, I go over to the storage.

I stop every one step, to see if I can hear anything.

But I don't, I can hear the sounds of birds, and frogs, but that's pretty much it.

Mustering up my courage, I reach the storage.

My fingers hover over the door handle, closing my eyes, I fling it open.

There's David, his shotgun pointed straight at me.

I freeze and so does he, his finger on the trigger.

"D-david" I say, looking him in the eye.

As soon as I mention his name, he puts down the gun and hugs me.

It's not one of our soft, loving hugs, then one was hard, and tight, as if he was relieved.

"David! What the hell are you doing out here?!" I yell at him, and pushing him away a little.

He pulls back, and then as if remembering something, he grabs my hand quickly and starts walking.

"I saw something" he says, his voice low as he opens the door.

I stop and pull my hand away, my heart speeding.

"What did you see?" I ask, suddenly feeling like I can't breath.

He looks at me, and shakes his head.

"Doesn't matter, were leaving now! Right now!" He says loudly, reaching for my hand again.

I pull away, he wasn't telling me something.

"David, what the hell?" I say, feeling like I'm in some weird scary movie.

"Scarlett! Were leav-" he stops, we both stop.

Everything has gone completely quiet, no more birds, no frogs, the lake doesn't even sound like it's moving.

    And we hear it, chains.

My eyes go wide with fear, and I hop in the truck, David closes my door, and runs around his side.

He drops in and hit's the gas.

Nothing happens, he hits it again, and the gas tank picture on the dashboard flashes red. No gas.

We look at each other, and we both hop out, I quickly run around to his side and grip his arm.

The chains are louder, and the smell in the air is horrible.

"On the count of three we run" he mutters, looking at me.

    I nod, I couldn't talk, I was afraid to.

    "1...2.." He says.

Then chain hits the ground behind us, so near, I could almost guess how much they weigh.

"3!" I yell, and take off running, David right behind me.

The chains get louder and hit the ground more rapidly.

I run with as much speed as I can produce, my heart thudding loudly in my chest.

I push through branches and step on leaves.

The birds and frogs are back, but they sound off.

They sound louder and faster, as if something is about to happened, or like they are in danger.

Finally, I break the clearing. I must have been running fast, because it took me an hour walking to go to the storage.

I rush to the cabin door and push it open, David comes in straight behind me, I lock the door as soon as he's in.

He rushes for the safe under the bed, and I rush the windows, locking and pulling the curtains shut on all of them.

I turn around, and David throws me a gun.

Then we hear it, on the right wall, chains.

I point my gun to the place where I can hear the chains.

My whole body is shaking, my breath coming out in short breaths.

David points his gun, and stands in front of me, protecting me.

The chains stop in front of the door.

I hold my breath, and wait.

    Nothing happens.

The clock ticks away, and we wait.

    David lowers his gun.

"I think it left" he says, looking back at me.

I nod, trying to gain control of myself.

"We should s-stay away, in case he-I mean it comes" I say.

David nods, and sits down on a nearby chair, he pats the one beside me, and I sit down.

And we stay up all night, and "it" never comes back.
