Hello forums! Your Friendly Royale here with a quick question for all of you frequent posters (and maybe even occasional posters)! So I've noticed that I lurk a lot more in forums now than I used to. Even lost the will to argue and debate on here as much as I used to. I've found that I just don't enjoy myself with this cast of forumers (Hopefully that will change!). Anyways, I've found that certain threads grab my attention and I'll read them, maybe post. Others I'll see in Active Topics and never touch (most game threads). So, in an effort to increase post count and activity in these forums, as well as make them more interesting, I want to know what YOU, the forumers, prefer or avoid. What threads are your favorites? Your least favorite? Which threads are you more likely to stay on topic on, and which are you not? I look forward to your answers, and hopefully to improving the forum experience for us all!
Oh, and also a question for people who lurk only, but don't post or have only posted a few times. Why don't you post more?
is that question directed to "ppl who only lurk" rhetorical? cuz if they only lurk and never post… well nvm. anyways, there's no hope of having a prolonged discussion about anything on the forums without it degenerating into… you're stupid, i'm gonna farm you now… and… if you need someone to help farming, i'll join in. i think all the drama threads are entertaining tho… good for a few laughs.
Parcae, I'm aware of how silly it sounds lol. It was more of an invitation to those people, to hopefully draw them out from the shadows. I do enjoy the drama threads too. And the war threads. People complain when they see drama over something that happened in game, but they don't understand that one of the jobs of forums is to serve that purpose (Discussion over something in-game).
I can see how you could feel that way. But you should try posting occasionally and see how you like it! You might find that you enjoy being a part of the forum community.
I lurk for the same reason as Glenn. It's so boring. I pretty much just scroll through Active Topics and don't feel like reading anything.
Glenn, then I encourage you to make an impact on the community! We may not be able to stop the sexters/dirty role players. But we CAN strive to improve the place where we come to for a reprieve from that behavior.
On a serious note, nobody would take me seriously so I don't bother. I'll just wait around for the 'Forumer of Prophecy' to change the forum world.
What I do enjoy about forum is the forumers' comments. Haha they're so hilarious and stupid. Good kind of stupid,that is
royale…go ahead and create a serious thread for real discussion. and watch it degenerate into chaos by page 2. and if your first post starts with anything against the mob's general consensus of "acceptable", by the 5th post it'll be just meme pics and threats of farming.
Parcae, trust me, I know. But as thread owner I don't let those things fly. I've cared for these forums for quite some time, and I still try to improve them whenever I can. That was the purpose of this thread. Glenn, what do you mean? If you make an engaging thread that interest the forumers, they will post. The hard point is finding the subject of said thread. However, you can't hope to accomplish anything with an attitude of defeat.
I agree with Glenn there's nothing worth commenting. And also (I don't know if there still here or not) but when you do comment there are some new bee forumers who think that because they've been here a month or two think they own forums and know everything, which is annoying as hell.
Jackie, I've noticed something like that. You also see it with the groups of friends who'll treat forums like its their cc. Hopefully that will change, because all it does is damage the forums.
