CHAPTER ONE Tall, dark and handsome I woke up and walked downstairs, only to find my hung-over father throwing up in the kitchen sink. It wasn't a pretty sight, not at all. I helped him up and lay him down on the sofa, then grabbed my breakfast. After I had finished my breakfast, I got dressed into my jeans and a purple striped top, I never over-dress myself for school. I left my dad on the sofa, and grabbed my keys, then walked out the door. My journey to school was not a long one, in fact, it felt like it only took me thirty seconds. When I got to the front entrance, I saw a new car in the car park. There was a new guy standing next to it, he was tall, dark and handsome. I walked past him on my way into the building, and he stared at the ground, his pale hands in his jeans pockets. I could tell he was trying not to look at me, but I walked on, I couldn't care less what he thought of me. At school, I was the weirdo, the mysterious girl, the one that everybody wandered about, yet wanted so much. This changed shortly after third period, when I finally talked to that new kid. 'Hi, I'm Judith,' I said to him, shyly. He looked up slightly, but he chose to ignore me. "Umm, hello?" I said again. He looked up completely this time, our eyes met, and he opened his mouth to talk. 'I'm Zak,' he replied. I knew he was shy, much like I was, but I couldn't help but stare in awe at his looks. 'If you're here to offer me help, I don't need it!' He barked. My eyes widened and he got up and left the large laboratory. I shrugged my shoulders and poured a strange green chemical into my conical flask, it began to froth. Zak ran back in and pulled me to the ground, leaving me unconscious. Moments later, the chemical blew up, and glass flew everywhere.[/i]
I spent the next night in hospital, and couldn't go to school. I wanted to go to school. I wanted to question Zak. How did he get to me so quickly? I needed to know. My dad drove me to school the next day, because he was worried that I would fall on my way there. I got out of the car, and my eyes went straight to the south of the car park where Zak had parked his car two days ago. It wasn't there. He wasn't there. I stood there for a while, then I wandered into the building and made my way to chemistry, where I would be sitting alone for an hour. I stared out the window at the rain, whilst Dr. Blackly went over the periodic table of elements. Maybe he couldn't face me. Maybe he was hiding something. I had to find out what. I couldn't just let it go. It was eating my from the inside out. Maybe he had super speed? Or super strength? Or maybe he was a whole different being all together. I had to know. *** When school ended, I walked out of the gates, and towards Claire's Coffee House. I always went to Claire's for a coffee on a Tuesday. Because Tuesday had the worst lessons ever. When I walked through the door, I saw a familiar face sitting by the window. It was Zak. I approached him slowly, so that he wouldn't know I was there, but when I was about two feet behind him, he spoke. 'I'm not telling you how I did it,' he told me. I looked confused and tilted my head, before taking a seat next to him. 'Please. I have to know!' I exclaimed. He shook his head and got up to leave. I knew he was hiding something. If he wasn't, then why wouldn't he tell me? I was so confused, and couldn't wait for the next day so that I could question him further.
It had been a month since I met him and about only two things was I absolutely certain. The first, Zak was not human. The second, that I was head-over-heels in love with him. *** That night, whilst studying in my room, Zak suddenly appeared next to me on my bed. He looked out of breath, so I got him some water. 'How did you get in?' I asked him. This time, his eyes widened. 'The window,' he replied. I was confused. 'How did you get up?' I asked. 'Uhh,' he paused. 'ladder,' he replied. I nodded my head, then I accidentally put my hand on his pale hand. It was freezing. 'Listen,' he told me. 'you need to not be around me anymore,' he said. My eyes filled up with tears. I had grown to love him. I could not be without him. 'Why?' I asked. He sighed then looked at his feet. It wasn't easy for him. 'I'm not good for you,' he replied. This time, I sighed and looked at my feet. 'but, before I leave,' he added. 'Yes?!' I said, hopefully. 'I want you to come meet my family,' he said. He then made his way over to the window. 'Wait!' I yelled, before he could jump. 'What are you?' I asked. He laughed and shook his head. 'A vampire, of course,' he replied. He was gone within seconds.
It's really good so far. Maybe just make her fall in love a little more realisticly- a little less easily and quickly. Also, you haven't so far, but try to avoid the Twilight route. :3
His family were not like him. They were completely and utterly different, yet they behaved, looked, and smelt exactly like him. His sister, Lauren, looked sort of like a pixie. She had short hair and she was quite small and skinny. She probably looked like a pixie, because she was a pixie, well a færie. His brother, Daniel, was nowhere near as pale as Zak. He was quite tanned, and had bright blonde hair. He was a human. His mother, Lucy, was tall and had long black hair, much like mine. She was too a vampire. She was the one who seemed to care about me mixing with them, and how much harm it could cause me. His father, Nathan, was also tall, but had brown hair. He was smart, and was a professor at the local University. He was no creature, merely a human who can read minds. 'Zak, I don't think that this is a good idea,' Nathan told Zak. I was hiding round the corner listening in. 'You always bring humans home and it never works! They end up getting away!' He said. This was when they realised somebody was listening in, so I ran back down the stairs. I got into the living room and sat down, and thought about what I had just heard. What did he mean 'get away'? Where they going to kidnap me? Was Zak blood thirsty? So many things went through my mind.
