Today was going to be a perfect day! I had all of my favourite lessons: Art, PE, History, Science and French. I knew that nothing could stop my day from being absolutely perfect. At least, that's what I thought... *** I got home and put my bag on the table in the hallway, then made my way to the living room. When I got there, I saw several elderly people, they looked like they had been crying. My mum then turned to me with a concerned expression on her face. "Shirley died today," she informed me. My face went from a cheery smile to a depressed frown. Shirley was my elderly godmother, who had cancer for eight years before I was born. She was like a grandma to me, because my actual grandma lived too far away for me to visit. "She did suffer for twenty years, darling," said my mum. "she was ready to go,". I cried hard and stormed out of the room. She wasn't ready to go. She wasn't, she wasn't, SHE WASN'T!
