The night where the cold hard chill of his lingering fingers running across her back as she sobs uncontrollably. The tears ran down her ivory skin like a rushing river of sadness. The vivid flashbacks of the night before make her weep and cause her skinny long legs to fall to the floor. The loud monstrous footsteps as he walks past her room quietly whispering “You’re such a sissy”. She wonders why she let this get this far and why she hasn’t done anything about it. She looks herself in the broken glass mirror and sees all her pain bottled up deep within her heart. Between the lines she was hiding her pain and sorrow just so others would think she was okay. She remembers the way he hit her and the way she gently caressed her cheek and told her how sorry he was. As she forgave him she wondered if he would ever strike her again. She believed everything would be okay little did she know her world would come crashing down and burst into red hot flames. As her sadness continued she began to wonder why she doesn’t tell anyone. As she tried to speak to someone he grabbed her roughly and hit her repeatedly. She sat there helpless and wanted to the agonizing pain to stop. He had told her ten thousand times that he was sorry as she looked at his pale rough face and the tears coming from his pale blue eyes. She sighed deeply and gave him one last chance thinking he would stop being so violent. She stayed up and thought about what she would do. Two choices to stay or to leave she questioned what would happened if she stayed or left. About four hours later she packed up her dark brown suit case and quietly left the house. She ran quickly passing giant houses and a park where they used to go. A flashback came rushing through the peaceful park and she saw him pushing her on the blue swing. They looked so happy then, what had happened? She ran frantically to her friend Tom's house and knocked on the door loudly. Tom answered the door and saw the bruises all over her body and noticed the dark purple area on her arm. He held her closely and told her everything would be okay. He rushed her to the hospital to get x rays taken and a few long hours later the X rays developed. Her arm was broken but she couldn't feel the pain. As she waited for her blue hard cast Tom sat on her hospital bed and softly kissed her. It became clear to her Tom cared about her while the other guy didn't. Six months later, she and Tom were together. They balanced each other out perfectly and he would never hit her like the last one did. She realized that she needed to stop getting in abusive relationships because it only hurt her more in the end. Her pain and sadness was gone and she didn't feel alone anymore. A few days after she saw her ex and he realized he abused her. He said sorry repeatedly but she ignored him and continued walking past the green park. She could smell the mouthwatering hot dogs from a few stores down. As she walked her ex ran up and beat her again but, this time she called the cops. Finally she could speak up and do something about it all. She never saw her ex after that and she was now madly in love with Tom. She thought she never would be happy again but Tom made her realize how happy she was with him. ~Not every story ends happily but this isn't a fairy tale. I hope you enjoyed this short story I wrote.
