This is a guide to starting, growing, and maintaining a successful club. I will cover three things: things to consider before beginning your club, what to do when you are just starting out, and how to keep your club alive. 1. Before You Begin These are the things to think about before you decide to start your journey as a club owner. A: Financial Responsibility I recommend having at least 2.5b on hand when you decide to start your club. Having this amount means you have 200m for your club fee, 300m for your personal volley reserve, and 2b for new member assistance. I am in no way implying that the entire 2b will be lost to new members, but you should have it on hand. New members will want volleys to help their growth. If they are active and you teach them the right upgrade strategy then after you volley them it shouldn't be too hard to get them new pupils. Which leads me to my next point... B: Experience New players that join your club (and believe me a vast majority of your first members will be inexperienced) will be looking for an owner to pass on advice and guidance. You should be experienced in multiple upgrade strategies, volleys, wars, parties, and know how to find inactive farms for your members. It isn't necessary but being an admin before becoming an owner is helpful, especially in war and party knowledge. Farm lists can be found all over the forums. C: Stats I would recommend being at least 100kcs before deciding to start a club. When searching for a club players are looking for knowledge, experience, and protection. All of these things can be conveyed by your stats. While 100kcs doesn't seem like much to an LCBC, to a new player it portrays experience, dedication, and strength. You want a prospective member to see your stats and say 'hey this person has been around for some time, probably knows what they're doing, and can protect me'. Obviously at 100kcs you can't protect from all threats, but most players (not all but most) at those stats, or above, don't take time to mess with farming low stat actives. D: Activity/Time Starting a new club takes a considerable amount of time. You will need to be active a lot, especially in the first 2-3 weeks. You will need to recruit members, build member loyalty, guide new comers through parties, establish your club, establish your club values, and build your admins. If you are not capable of committing a fair amount of time to your club you are not ready to own your own. 2: Once You're Prepared! These are things to do when you are prepped and ready to begin your club. A: Decide your club values. WILL you be a club that focuses on wars or parties? A club that focuses on just a fun relaxed atmosphere for casual gamers? Will you allow rp in your club? Will there be a minimum stat requirement? (I don't recommend stat requirements until you are well established, otherwise you could be turning away potentially loyal members.) Are there any certain qualities you want your members to possess? B: Create Your Club Wall. While you are recruiting you need to have your basic principals hashed out on your club wall. This way potential members can see what you and your club are all about before deciding to join. Don't worry about wall art, or making it look pretty, just get your club values out there! C: Find Admins I recommend finding two initial admins at around.a minimum of 20kcs. If you have to take lesser I don't recommend anyone less than 10kcs. There is an over-abundance of players in this stat range looking for admin positions, however, so it shouldn't be very hard to find them. These players can help recruit, are experienced enough to be of help to new members, can acceot players into your club, and may be online when you aren't. Make sure the admins you select are committed loyal players looking to play a part in growing your club, and not players just looking for an admin title without the responsibility. You can find these people in campus chat generally. Just chat with them first about your expectations and limitations before making them admin. D: Gain New Members Recruiting is the number one key to your new club. Try creating something clever to grab people's attention. Post in campus chat. Don't be afraid to lurk on campus chat either and wall potential candidates. E: Start Your First Party Once you have 10-15 members with at least 2kcs start your first party. I recommend counter culture, as it is easy and allows enough time for regeneration. 3. How to Keep It Going These are recommendations to keep your club alive and kicking. A: Club Chat Keep club chat alive! Talk with your members and admins. Ask them how they feel about how the club is doing and what they would like to see the club do. If you keep your members happy, and let them feel empowered they will be more likely to remain loyal and focus on the growth of your club. Also keeping your members chatting in club chat helps build a team atmosphere and helps them bond with each other. It builds loyalty and commitment. B: Admin Respect Give your admins respect. They are there to keep the parties going and maintain a steady flow of members joining your club. Don't treat them as inferiors. C: Establish Party Admins These are admins whose sole purpose is to keep the parties going. This allows you to (verbally) limit their admin privilege while keeping a steady flow of parties. D: Keep partying Keep the parties going as often as is reasonable. However, make sure to do parties your club can complete. If you only have a few members on stick to counter culture. It is ideal to let members know ahead of time if you are going to do a new party that may be harder to complete. It discourages members to constantly fail parties. E: Be Prepared For War When considering a war challenge scope out the other club. Make sure that their members are of equal or similar stats to your members. Don't agree to a war without discussing terms first, and don't agree to a war where either side is severely advantaged. Make sure your members feel prepared to go to war. F: Keep Recruiting Even once you're established it is important to keep new members coming into your club. That way you're continuously growing! This has been my guide to your club!!! I got increasingly tired as it went on so please forgive me if I left anything anything out and feel free to add your own advice and/or input. Thanks!
Um do an active check everyother week to show that your the real deal and want an active club that strives to become the strongest. Kick inactives if neccessary.
Great thread!! I totally agree with all of this even though I was given my first club waaaay before I was anywhere near 100kcs, I seriously don't recommend it. I'm still not quite there yet but I'm almost there You need to find admins you can trust and members who are willing to help recruit. Active checks every week or every other week is a good idea. With mine, I give out gifts every Friday and tell them to accept by Sunday. I find this easier than having them write active on someone's wall. You can very easily check their recent gifts through members when going through the kicking process. This also gives you a chance to gift your members something nice ^_^
40CS not 40kcs.... I'm talking a player who doesn't know anything about the game and has been playing for probably 15minutes trying to start a club. ...and Yes I say that's bad....
Tiger shut up. The thread is an excellent attempt at helping people and all you can do is whine rather than offering anything constructive. Nice job OP Activity checks are important, but you should be able to see from your party history who is active and isn't.
I'm not whining about the guide, I'm mad that she doesn't want people to have the ability to run their own clubs based on stats.
Second to last post on page one. That's why I'm upset Casper. It is a nice guide I agree but there's a fine line between help and control. By saying, "Ugh" she was clearly disappointed and or annoyed that a 40cs was starting a club . This is not in her control nor business and she should not care what this person wants to do with their fake pimd money.
I think the point being made was that at 40 cs they can usually not even find the club page, let alone run one lol
