Fairy Tale Hell

  1. This is a fantasy/adventure story that I am starting while giving up on my other story, Genetics. It isn't really giving me any inspiring leads. So, I hope you like it. Sorry if the prologue is crappy.

    Fairy Tale Hell

    Prologue

A group of people have always loved fairy tales. They have always wandered why they couldn't have that kind of life. The guy always got the girl. The lucky one got away. Always.

Well, all of those people, who have zero ties to each other, receive a letter that says:

    "Dear Sir/Madam,

You have won a contest. You will receive a package tomorrow and we hope you accept it.

    Sincerely,

    FTH"

The people have no idea what the letter means except that they won a contest they were never entered in. They shove the letter away and go on with their normal lives. The next day, each person gets a package. They all open it and a gas gets pushes out of it, causing them to pass out.

Later, when they wake up, they are in a place they are not familiar with. When they look down at their clothes, they look as if they are from a fairy tale. They all see a note and one young woman volunteers to read the note.

"'It's nice to have you with us,'" she reads. "'You are getting what you have always wanted. Your life is now a fairy tale. Welcome.

    "'Welcome to Fairy Tale Hell.

"'You can change the fairy tale the way you want without changing the story that is known to all. You have to work with those around you, no matter what. If you don't, the creatures around you will keep you here. That way, you have to fight your way out to get home.

"'You have one month to leave and it starts now.

    FTH'"

    『Angel』

I lean on a wall, listening to the comments of others. Everyone looks like fucked up fairy tale characters. I, myself am Cinderella, which makes since, considering my life of the past.

The girl cowers as everyone yells and hides in the crowd, dropping the note she read. Pfft. The coward. I, however, can't handle the yelling myself and I stand on a nearby table. No one notices me until I scream. Everyone covers their ears and stares at me like I'm crazy. I probably am, considering my past and background. And they are also thinking it because of my bright red hair. At least, that's an idea.

"Lovely. You have shut up," I say, rolling my eyes at everyone. I'm not an attention freak mostly, but I am hardcore bitch and hard ass when it comes to people listening to me.

"Who the hell are you?" asks a guy. A low growl comes from my throat, but it doesn't seem to faze him. Oh, well, whatever.

"I'm Cinderella, obviously. And you seem to be the Beast, I hope. That or the big bad Wolf. Either way, you don't scare me. Nor does this 'FTH' freak. Now I suggest that we get going and head home before we end up living in a sappy, creepy sequence of fairy tale lives. Agreed?"

Everyone murmurs in agreement as I reach down to someone's hands. The person takes my waist and let's me jump down. I give the person, who turns out to be a blond guy, a smile of thanks(I'm actually quite a nice person, just easily annoyed). He gives me a smile back and lets go of me. I make my way to the door and fling it open, reveling trees.

"Wait!" I hear a voice say. I turn to see the girl that read the note run to me. "What are you doing?"

"Heading home. Who are you?" I ask her, looking at her crazed eyes. She looks high, to be honest, and trust me, I've seen my fair share of high people on the streets.

"Fiona. I'm technically your step-sister. You aren't going out there alone, are you?" she asks me, a bit of worry in her voice. She doesn't even know me and she's worried about me. Wow.

"I'm Angel, and no. They are following me." I turn and walk out of the one-room house, Fiona and the others following me.

    ~*~*~*~*

It got dark pretty fast, so we decided to rest for the night and wait out the darkness. I made a fire and now I'm making weapons. Creatures are out there, so I think it's best to be ready for a fight. Everyone's sitting around the fire, some whispering to each other while others, like myself, are quiet and very anti-social.

As I sharpen the rock for an arrowhead, I hear something walk to me. I look up, slightly bring the rock up to my head. Turns out, it's just the guy that helped me out earlier.

"Hey. You know I'm not a monster...right?" he asks, a slight grin on his lips.

"Pfft. Yes. Just can't be too careful, you know?" I say, lowering the rock and going back to sharpening it. He sits next to me and I shift uncomfortably. I'm not used to human closeness. I've always been the social reject.

"What's your name?" he asks after a small period of silence.

"Angel. You?" I say, looking down at the rock.

"Gavin. I'm Prince Charming, can't you tell?" he smirks. I look over at him and notice he's right. Mine? Probably not. I don't get Prince Charming's. I get evil trolls and goblins.

"Yeah. And I'm Cinderella. Not dolled-up, of course. Because if I was, this would be would not be happening," I smirk. He gives a light chuckle and I look up at him, a small grin on my face.

"I like you, as a friend, of course," I say. "We should talk later. I'll take watch over everyone in the trees." I pull string off my dress as I walk away. I climb a tree and pull off a stick. Tying the arrowhead to the stick and making a spear, I look out at everyone. Some are already asleep. Others are gazing at the stars. But Prince CharmingーGavinーis looking up at me.

I give Gavin a small wave and smile. He seems like a nice guy...right?

    ∀Gavin∀

In the morning, Angel leads us again. There is a total of thirteen of us and a total of six stories. It's strange but people have been exchanging stories. Only the girl by the name of Fiona has been here longest. She says she's been here for over a month. Strange, but, really, who am I to question? I'm not the nosey type.

I'm walking behind Angel as she leads all twelve of us. Her hair bounces as she walks, humming to a song in her head. She seems sweeter than she was yesterday. But, of course, yesterday, she was just pissed about being taken from her home and her job, though, she said she didn't care, it was probably the light of her life.

"So, where we headed?" I ask, looking at her red hair. It's obviously not natural, but it looks nice. It matches her fiery nature. And it's a nice red, though. A bit bright, but it's a nice color.

"Out of these woods. If we can find some sort of village or a few houses, we could find some normal clothes and a place to sleep. It will be better than sleeping in dresses and in the woods. Hopefully, anyway." She looks back at me and gives a little grin to everyone, though most aren't paying any attention. I think only myself and Fiona are paying attention to her.

I speed up a bit and start walking next to her, leaving freaky Fiona by herself. "And what does that mean?" I ask her, looking at her properly. She looks over at me, her blue-grey eyes looking into mine.

"As long as this place, and I mean this world FTH left us in, is abandoned except for us, we should be fine. If not, well, I figure out a plan to go on from there." She gives a light shrug and starts twirling her homemade spear like a baton.

"Do you always have plan for everything?" I ask her, a smirk playing on my lips.

"Of course. Plans are needed for everything. Example," she says, thrusting her spear at me, "this spear isn't needed because I know how to fight, but, if I think I might be over thrown by height, this spear is used to jab at the creatures head. It's simple, really."

"Right," I say, looking at her like she's crazy. It's not that hard to do. She just acts crazy. But, she's cute when she acts that way.

She laughs, poking me with the butt of the spear. "Hey!"

"Hi," she giggles. Wow. She, of all people, is giggling.

I roll my eyes and ask, "What is so funny?"

"You're doing it again!" she say in a singsongy voice.

"What am I doing that is making you laugh like I'm the lunatic?" I ask.

"Staring at me like I'm crazy. Everyone did that yesterday. Is it the hair? Or is it my personality?" she asks, shoving a branch out of her way.

"Both. But it's a good crazy, you know?" I ask, even though it makes no sense to me. She laughs and nods. She suddenly she gets serious. She stops and puts a hand up, stopping me and those who are paying attention. She hands me the spear and places a finger to her lips.

    "Whaー" I start.

"Shh," she says, looking around. Suddenly, I hear a crack of a twig.

Then small people with saliva foaming for their mouths launch at the thirteen of us.

    ▽Daisy▽

This is how we get attacked by my seven Dwarves:

After Angel hushes us, I look at my prince, Darren. He shrugs, looking at me as strangely as I am him. Then seven Dwarves run at us. One jumps at Angel and kicks her temple, obviously surprising her and knocking her out.

"Angel!" Gavin says, freaking out. Honestly, it's a bossy Cindy. She's bossy, she complains constantly, she won't shut up over half the time, and, seriously, her hair is too bright and annoying.

I kick one of the Dwarves in the face and a pain runs through my body. As Snow White, it hurts seeing a Dwarf get hurt. And that tells me that the Dwarves are the seven Dwarves from the story My story.

Everyone is fighting to keep these rabid Dwarves from killing them. The only one not being attacked is the Fiona chick. She's trying to wake up Angel as Gavin fights Dwarves off around the two ladies. Honestly, why save her? She's a bossy bitch. Though, of course, Gavin is Angel's Prince Charming and Fiona is her step-sister. Figures.

When one comes after me, I get sick and tired of them attacking everyone, so I go rogue on their asses. I kick one and when it lands on its back, I smash its face in with my short heels. I ignore the pain in my heart. These assholes have to go. I continue with two more as people get my idea and start doing what I am. For once, people actually do what I am. In a deadly situation too.

I think I like this place.

    ∀Gavin∀

As Daisy becomes the not-so-sweet Snow White, I get physical myself with these stupid Dwarves. I mainly have one that hates me. I think it's Grumpy. Or what ever that angry Dwarf's name is.

As I fight with one of his friends, I have to keep drop kicking him as I stab others. As I try to pull out the spear head, the handle breaks, the head stuck into the Dwarf's heart. Great. Just my damn luck. Of all times, this happens. Just fucking perfect.

I turn to see Grumpy run at me and I have nothing to fight back with. As I am about to kick Grumpy, I see another foot come in contact with his face. The warrior runs and starts pummeling the Dwarf with their fist, yelling at him.

"You son of a bitch. You don't try to kill me or my friends," their voice says. I blink, looking at her hair. It's bright and a fiery red. My guardian Angel. (Get it?) "Fuck you. Die, you bastard!"

"Angel! Relax!" I say, holding her fist back. She looks back at me and gives a sheepish smile.

"I guess I got carried away," she says, giving me a small grin. She looks down at the bloody face of the dead Dwarf. I kick it gently, making sure it's truly dead. Everyone else has finished off the Dwarves, who, somehow, called in reinforcements. I hold out my hand and she takes it, letting me hoist her up. She give me a light kiss on the cheek and says, "Thanks for the help. Maybe I should make more spears, huh?"

I just smile and nod, slightly dazed. This princess is starting to drive me crazy.

    『Angel』

After I go crazy on that damn Dwarf, I start walking again, Gavin at my side and everyone else behind me. Gavin and I start talking about how our lives were before we got sucked into this place. I'm actually starting to like it; there are no penalties for any thing, my paradise. Anyway, the only thing I like to leave out is my past life before I got a place of my own.

"So," he says, "what was your childhood like." At that, I freeze, Fiona bumping into me. Everyone's eyes are on the back of my head, I can feel it. I feel my face grow hot and I start walking, wishing for them to stop staring at me and to go back to their conversations. They do and I sigh in relief.

"You okay? Or..." Gavin says, looking at me with a strange emotion. What is that? I think I know what that is. Worry, concern, guilt, or confusion. I can't read emotions well, so I'm hoping I'm wrong. I don't deserve to be concerned or worried over. And I don't mean to cause guilt or confusion.

"I'm okay. You just caught me off guard with that question," I say, giving a weak smile.

"Really? 'Coz, you look pale." He looks at me with that emotion again. I am starting to hate that emotion. It's confusing me and making me want to punch him. But I don't want to hurt him. I have grown to like him as a friend. After all, he tried to save my life. It was sweet... No...it was like he deeply cared for me. Unlike anyone else. It is nice to have someone who cares; I realize that now.

"O-Oh..." I say as he places a hand on my forehead. The placement of his hand makes me inhale quickly. Such a sudden gesture kinda caught me off guard and...I don't know...made me realize how cold my skin is without his touch. I feel like, without it, I am....I guess empty.

"I don't know what's wrong. I guess you don't like unwanted attention," he says, pulling his hand away. It's too bad. I kinda liked the warm sensation it left on my skin. What am I saying? I'm growing soft! I need to build up that wall that I had before I met Gavin and keep myself distanced. Like my normal.

"Right," I say quietly. "Anyway, my childhood was as normal as it could have been. I had friends, went to school, and just had fun running around and being a kid." Lies, lies, lies. I just made that up on the spot. I don't like lying because I know I'll get caught. But my past is a touchy subject. Honestly, it wasn't the best. But I hate to talk to anyone about it. "So, what about you. what was your childhood like?" I ask, clearing my head of the lies I made.

"My family was wealthy so I went to a private school. I hated it, to be honest, so I got in trouble a lot. It wasn't the school, it was how I was treated. I was treated too kindly and had fake friends. They always turned on me so I got sick of it. My parents ended up home schooling me and sent me tutors. When I left home, I turned down the family fortune," he says, taking a moment to breath.

"Why?" I ask, looking at him like he's crazy. I would have given anything to own that fortune.

"I wanted to be normal. I wanted a girl to love me for who I was, not for my money. So, I guess it was for the best, you know?" he says, looking at me.

"No. I think it was the right move, sorta. But I wouldn't have turned down the fortune. I would have kept some. But, I'm kinda selfish so, that makes since." I sigh and push branches away from my face to see a clearing. "Finally!" It's kinda small but there are a total of six small houses. Kinda like a little village, but without most things a village needs. So I guess it's just a small area of houses.

"Looks like we found our way," Gavin says. I start making my way towards the houses when Fiona pushes past me and heads towards the houses. I look at Gavin in confusion and he just shrugs. We wait and soon, after about ten minutes, she walks back out of one of the houses and heads our way.

    "Well? What's up?" I ask.

"Looks like FTH is with us in this world," she replies, heading back to the houses. I follow her, as does everyone else. She pushes open the door and points at a table. I pick up a piece of paper and sigh. A letter from FTH.
