Prologue There’s a certain magic about the week of midterm exams, the air sharp with heavy clouds carrying the false promise of snow. Everyone rushing to get to the gym in sweats and messy ponytails, balancing sloshing cups of peppermint flavored, name brand coffee. To me, it’s beautiful. The whole thing makes people seem more like simple, scatterbrained humans than sociably acceptable, identical yet individual individuals. Only one part of exam week truly scares me, minus the moment when you forget the answer to the question and your palms start sweating and the sweat starts to smear the essay you just finished and so on and so forth till you end up having a breakdown in front of your entire high school, the fact some of your senses are eliminated for a few hours. I don’t mean they blindfold you or make you wear earplugs for three hours. The fact you’re in a windowless, heater-less, pure white room that smells of concentration, old sweat, and broken dreams with three hundred other people is terrifying when you think about it. What if something happened? Something big, like ten feet of snow fell, snow’s so light you can’t hear it hit the ground. Your only indication something is going on would be the air slowly growing colder and colder till, finally, someone gets up to see what happened. Then you’re snowed in in a gym with no heat. This, of course, is probably never going to happen, but weirder things happen. In fact, I have an example of a weirder thing happening. It’s a little out there, and if you don’t believe me now would be a good time to turn away and never return to whatever you’re reading this off of or out of. But, before I tell you anything about that, you need to know some history. When Lucifer got kicked out heaven, he made a deal with God; if God gave him one small, at the time, gift, Lucifer would allow the kicking out look like exactly what it was supposed to. Lucifer wanted something very strange and beautiful: the power to travel through time. Since the world was still being shaped, Jesus had not yet been born, God granted Lucifer’s wish. I mean, with Earth only a few hundred years, how much trouble could Lucifer get into? The answer? A lot. Lucifer travelled to the future, not our time, but around the time that the Holocaust happened for us, and met a woman. Their baby had the same power he did. All of that baby’s babies would too, and any other kids with Lucifer’s blood pumping through their veins. Of course, God wasn’t aware this happened till the rest of the world caught up with Lucifer and his trail of promiscuity. No one knew about the race of half breeds that lived amongst them, and only caught glimpses of this lifestyle, further adding on to superstitions. Once God’s world caught up to the first time era that Lucifer visited, he was angry, convinced that these fallen angel and human offspring would destroy the world. So, he started choosing good-hearted, wholesome angels to kill them off. God spent four centuries creating a team of five angels to kill off the “devil spawn”. The angels were five siblings known as the Maysiratti family. The Maysiratti’s had been one of those picture perfect families, a model mom and two breathtakingly beautiful daughters paired with a high cheek-boned, dark-haired father and a young, clear skinned teenage son. They were the ideal family and were kind to everyone, kept all secrets, were modest, yet aware of their looks and effect on people. Lucifer killed them when the family found him as mortals, so who else would be more qualified? God spent the next fifty years switching between times, training the family, giving them powerful gifts to kill off Lucifer. By the time God had exhausted himself with this project, it was the twenty-first century and the world was tugging on its leash. Countries were ripping each other and themselves apart, drugs were everywhere, and so was Lucifer. Someone died? It was Lucifer. There was a huge drug bust? Lucifer had been the main dealer. By the time he was caught, God and the Maysiratti’s realized realized that it wasn’t enough to cut off the head of the snake; they needed to finely dice the body and incinerate the remains. When the century turned a decade old, anyone with Lucifer’s blood was gone, time switched around so no one remembered them, and everything was fine. There was still war, drugs, sex, and other shallow things humans succumb too when they realize life doesn’t have to be perfect. But, there was no Lucifer, or so they thought. Honestly, if there were requirements to be an angel and stay an angel, would you last? Do you know anyone who would? Obviously, some habits aren’t so bad that they can be overlooked, then turn out to cost you later. Lucifer couldn’t have been the only angel to be booted out of heaven… and he wasn’t, he was just the most intelligent. If he was going to wreak havoc, Lucifer wanted to do it right. Lucifer knew the world would evolve over time, and time was something he made his bitch. Once upon a very true time, Lucifer met another fallen angel. Her name was Rae, and she actually fell from heaven, not kicked out. She looked it too, light and perfect, whereas Lucifer was dark and out of proportion, but she was his opposite. She was the cream against his darkness; the black hair resting on his shoulder-length gingery hair; the curvy and short standing sleeping working sitting by his tall, brooding; and, the mossy green honesty to his pitfall grey cunningness. Her only imperfection was the way her skin on her back was scarred from the fall, the feathers burned into her skin as she free fell from the atmosphere, leaving haunting ashes stuck in her cream and roses with freckles. He loved her, 100% loved her. This is the very reason he had to leave. And the reason one of the exams went so oddly.
Wow, this is...I have no words to describe this, the details and the idea is amazing. Please join my Writer's Café! You don't have to but you would be a great addition to the thread. I love this already! Bump!
Halfway across the world, a baby is being born. Her hair is fire red, a curly down that covers her delicate scalp. Her eyes are filmy blue, but a firm blackness will quickly over take them. Her senses are coming to life, opposing my currently dulled ones. Freckles cover her high cheekbones, dotting her ivory and vein blue skin. The father looks at her with black eyes full of remorse. The mother sighs, her insides sore but her heart light with elation. All she can think is this is my baby, she's mine. All he can think is Im not ready to go. Lucifer looks at his child, his beautiful Detrix, and a raindrop falls from his torrent skies. He blinks and looks away for a moment, hoping Rae is too involved with Detrix to notice. And she is. Her gentle fingers brush the squeals and cries from her babies face. Lucifer stares at the seaside. A mantra plays in his head why?. The word bounces around, spinning upside down, backwards, and inside out. ---- Back on my side of earth, a storm is brewing. The smell seeping into the gym through the cracks of the doors. Electricity makes the short hairs stand up on my winter pale arms. Every motion brings static electricity rushing, convulsing from one person to another.
woah... I must say I love this, my one thing is probably a space in between paragraphs, but that's it. Continue on please
Last update for tonight. They will be longer after this one! ---- I feel it. Glancing around, there's a low tension in the air. The murmur of whispers gone. We won't know it for several more minutes, but the sky is blood red, rain the color of mildew dribbling down. Angry winds will be lashing at our cars and tearing violently at our bodies like it's trying to pull us apart. --- Yet somewhere else, in a time very different, a toddler takes his first steps. He wears a simple tunic that matches his ruddy cheeks, stained and deep rose. On chubby legs he stands, his fingertips shaking and his arms spread in front of him in a Frankenstein fashion. His mom watches from a few steps away with breath caught in her throat. She's proud. Oh so proud.
I was gonna say it's the end of the world cause antichrist has been born but yeah that's my feeling.
That's a fantastic idea. But no... It's the opposite. And you guys have a choice a short update tonight and a short one in the morning or one long one tomorrow
Well, I must say, this is very alluring to read. Aside from the paragraph spacing, you pretty much have a compelling story here. In my opinion, I would like more details, since, I cannot write anymore, due to the lack of motivation and inspiration (or at least someone to say I should go on), I'm a detail grabber. So I would love more details. ^^ Anyway, I don't have any hunches, I'm just thrilled for another update, I hope you do well, and I really enjoyed reading this.
