They're not Christian, but they celebrate Christ's birth? That makes loads of sense. I always considered it disrespectful to call it Xmas, but I'll look into that Ghost. If it's true, then it's a valid reason in my book. I heard that he was actually born around September. It is proven that Jesus was not born in December though, there are records of census's and they were never in December. Mostly in autumn.
It is a valid reason and can be found in numerous places on the Internet as well as local libraries. I know some don't believe everything the web has to say so look it up in paper back if it suits you better. But to save you a little time, every place I've looked said the same thing. Some say 1400's some say 1600's but the fact still remains X is the first letter in the Greek spelling.
Hey! Hey! I'm not Christian and I still celebrate Christmas, I'm Buddhist and I don't really care what I call it but I call it Christmas more than Xmas.
I don't have a religion. But I still celebrate it. How is it celebrating jesus's birth IF he was not born in December. Its when I get with my family. Boyfriends. Whatever. And most little kids have no idea what its about. They just know they get presents from "santa". In texts i write xmas but when I'm talking I say christmas. Get over it. Its not disrespectful. Its an abbrevation. Wow.
Lol i think it was a pegan holiday to start with. On that day greek men all got together exchanged gifts beat they wives and did it with each other. Truthfully, its probably a sin to celebrate it anyway. According the bible its a sin to be homosexual. (Sorry if that offends anyone) So logically it would be a sin. But the true meaning is non-exisitnet in todays society.
If it was all about jesus' birthday then we wouldnt celebrate st nick on this day. Jesus was born in Aprilish time.
I think it was ghosts explaination on the 2nd page. Christmas is different in every single country. Traditions are not the same everywhere.
