From £1,200 To £5,000

  1. This thread is just so that I can raise awareness and just get this subject off my chest!!

So, my scout troop is going to shut down soon due to the council of my town. We own the scout hut, but not the land. The rent price of the land is going up from £1,200 a year, to £5,000 a year. At the minute, the scouts pay £10 a month. There are 32 of us. There is no way on earth that we would be able to afford it and the Summer Camp in 2013 at the same time. As far as the council are concerned, the scouts are a business. This is not true. We are a charity. Shutting down a charity is completely out of order, and I'm sure that the other 33,000,000 scouts in the world will agree with this! Please comment below if you think this is wrong!!!!!
