I learned about this stuff from my aunt. She taught me how to do it with just a piece of paper and a pencil. First, find a partner. Next, write the alphabet letters from A to Z horizontally. Then, ask your partner how many letters his/her crush's name. Example, the name of his/her crush is Shade. Shade has 5 letters. So divide the alphabet into 5 by drawing a (|). After dividing them, put numbers above the letters. The heart emoticon serves as the divider so you will not be confuse. Example: 1 2 3 4 A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T 5 6 U V W X Y Z Then, ask your partner what number does their crush's name belongs. For example, the name Shade has the numbers: 4 for S 2 for H 1 for A 1 for D 1 for E Of course, you will not immediately know it. So if they say, "Number 4", you'll have to write it vertically this time: P Q R S T It's the same for the other letters, then label the letters with numbers again: P F A A A - 1 Q G B B B - 2 R H C C C - 3 S I D D D - 4 T J E E E - 5 Then, let them pick where the letters of their crush's name belongs. Be sure it's spelled out correctly! For example, they will say "Numbers, 4, 3, 1, 4, and 5." You'll write it like this: S I D D D R H C C C P F A A A S I D D D T J E E E You can find the name spelled out slanting/diagonally, right? It's more clear if you write it on a paper. And that's how you'll know their crush without letting them spit it out by their mouth, but on a paper! Lol~ I hope you understand this method...

This is actually pretty clever. But I'm not in middle school anymore.. Usually when someone asks me I'll just be like (for example the name.. Lisa) "awww damn that one girl Lisa man that girl is fine as hell" and that's how we all know.
They might refuse to tell you. The best way to find out is to be observant. Do they tease someone jokingly? Do they act awkward around someone? Do they giggle a lot around someone? Etc.
