So, I left this game for about a month so that I could revise for my final exams in Med School. I went on off-topic and saw the amount of grammar mistakes! I mean, seriously, without grammar you just look like a little girl/boy who is playing on Mommy's phone! Jesus! No good comes from text talk. This girl I know did text talk all the time and then had to resit her English exam because she got a C for inproper grammar. So, that's my rant over...thanks
Devnee, what you haven't taken into account is the amount of people that are dyslexic, or have trouble with spelling and grammar or those that have English as a second language. English is said to be one of the hardest languages to learn and master as a second language. Think about how horrible you just made some poor guy or girl feel after reading this. I have dyscalculia (learning disability with numbers) and I feel incredibly stupid when I can't do simple addition or subtraction problems. Please find out why they are bad at English before to rant about it. I can guarantee there are deeper issues there than you realize.
I agree with you, (correct me if I'm wrong) but what I think OP meant was people that 'takk lyk dis'.
I meant the people who don't have an excuse. I myself have dyscalculia and it does make me feel bad when I can't multiply simple things. But, this rant is aimed at the people who have no excuse for inproper grammar.
Oh wow :0 My first is Cantonese and my second Mandarin. God, Chinese is so unnecessarily hard and frustrating. Dx
Chinese takes up all of your patience, especially when you have a teacher who assigns you crap homework that is beyond your comprehension and can't even begin to fathom what the fuck the worksheet even says. To learn Chinese, you're going to have to put a shitton of dedication (hahahhahaNOPE) into learning it. Like copy all 104991848182 characters until you memorize their meaning, and to figure shit out yourself. So Complicated ;nnnn;
My first language is welsh, second is German, and third is English, but since I'm surrounded in a English majority community my English is much stronger than an other language I speak, all tho it's been so long I've had to speak them, I've forgotten an awful amount of it some people do have spelling issues due to bad education from a younger age, some have mental reasonings, and others first language isn't English, no need to put then down for it, yes it can get frustrating trying to understand them, but every one is from different parts of the world respect that, and try to understand them.
I really think OP meant people who talk like they have an IQ of minus 5 and purposely do it to piss people off. There's a difference between having a disability or not knowing a lot of English and being a complete idiot by talking noob spek, but that's just my opinion. Run-on sentences and grammar mistakes are of course acceptable, but when it gets out of hand and you type l1k dys cuz itz so fuhn or Oh Em Gee All Caps La La La La La etc. Meh, I dunno.
All these welsh ppl on here. I use ppl. It's easier for me. My keyboard is dying, I've been playing Pimd and whacking it too much Anyway back on topic... My grandmother was Welsh and I tried to learn some but I kept spitting on people when I talked and the ll, dd, forms were very confusing... I haven't mastered the tongue curling yet I also don't like text speak but I've learned to deal with it over the years... It's very common now.
On the other hand tho, those who speak incorrectly with bad spelling with out a prosper reason are just plan lazy And it's bad to continue to spell or do certain actions over and over. It's called muscle memory, relating actions, your muscles learn to repeat it exactly the same over time, and is extremely hard to change. Like sport, you learn how to kick a ball when you young and as you grow you learn you've been taught the wrong way, you try to change but it takes time as your so use to kicking the ball in a certain way due to muscles memory, this has the same effect on how you type and write, not matter what it is your body learns to repeat it in that fashion, and when it comes to the point at which you need to change, such as your example of the exam, it's hard for people to change from text typing to proper English because they've gotten so use to writing and spelling a certain way.
Jihi my dads side of the family is welsh, but they moved here before my birth, but my grandparents didn't speak English so I was taught welsh to be able to talk to them, but English and German was also fairy to me due to my mum only knowing English and a few other close family members knowing only German, but they've all learnt English and speak it perfectly. So English is only language we all speak now so we all understand each other.
We also need to take into account how many of those spelling errors and wrong words are due to the stupid autocorrect feature that most if not all smartphones possess. I've said some jacked up crap thanks to autocorrect.
I hate it when people put 'Hi im lyk so awsum innit and im a don wot???!!!!' I'm like... "WHAT ARE YOU SAYING...?!!"
That's the trying to be cool. Usually means they're the "losers" in real life, or get picked on alot. They want to be cool.
I hate it when people intentionally mispell words And if you are in med school then you are probably 2837261628 times smarter than everyone here so it's probably easier to get frustrated
This is true. I had Med-Student syndrome. You know, when you think you have the illness you are studying. I thought I had MRSA
