iPod help, please?

  1. I know it's kinda odd coming here for help but I've done literally everything, EVERYTHING I know to do. My iPod keeps white screening then turning on and off by itself, it won't let me turn on my WiFi, the slider to turn it on won't move at all, I tried to restore it but it shuts off before it can complete, not to mention I have to hold in the cable port that hooks into the computer, I tried the reset, and I tried DFU mode.

I'm thinking it's just a short in the charging cable but I'm not for sure, I can't find the other cable so I wouldn't know. I haven't tried jailbreaking it, this problem started when I plugged it in to do a restore on it because I had too much capacity and I was holding the cable in and I must have moved and it stopped charging but ever since then It's been doing that.

Have you had that problem? I really don't know what to do, I'm just hoping I need a new charging cable. Any suggestions on what to do?

  2. Take it into a apple store, if you can't restore it, it's probably at the end of its life.

  3.  it shouldn't be, I got it back in Jan-Feb of this year, it's an iPod Touch 4G

  4. I got that problem before. But I can't remember how I fixed it. 

  5. Stars

I'll see what I can think of that can be done to help.
Maybe buy a new cord or use some ones else's?

  6. When it happened to me I looked it up. It said something like hold down the home button ? Idk

  7. I think it just has to do with the cord because I'm sure I shouldn't have to hold it in for it to charge. 

  8. Ok, my friend is a pro at this stuff and I asked him, he has two solutions
1-check with another cable, it might be your cable that's screwed up.
2-from constant pulling at cables it can damage the charging port, this will need to be handed in to a repair shop to be fixed, cost around $10-40 aus to get fixed, depending on how bad the damage is.

    Hope that helps 

  9. I suggest your iPod is possessed. O_O

  10. If the iPods work exactly like the iPhones, hold homeland locked buttons at the same time for 10 seconds. It should restart on its own and still save all your information

  11. That could also work

  12. Take it to the apple store if u go they will take your old 1 nd give u a new 1 for 100 but that's only if they can't fix it nd it got to b a 8gb but either way the more u payed for your IPod it would b half of dat if u dnt got insurance

  13. Thanks, Zach. I'll try those.

  14. Mine is also a 8GB, and I have tried the home and power buttons at the same time also, I did that about 500 times. 

  16. how about you just get a new one? if it was only bought this year, you should be able to get a replacement as apple products have a year warranty! my ipod started white screening and stuff, i just went to the apple store and they swapped it!
