Last time I read the constitution was not to long ago and I have to tell you I learned a lot. The congress can do A LOT more than the president. So why are we blaming the president? Well because he is the "face"of the government. When war is declared we blame the president, when taxing happens we are blaming the president. That isnt just the presidents fault it's the Congress! So I hope you guys read this if not oh well. The Constitution - Appendix B Article 1 Section 8 The powers of Congress. Correct me if I am wrong.
You're right, people are just oblivious to that. One of the reasons republicans can complain about Obama's lack of action is the republican dominated congress that is outright rude and disrespectful to him, denying every idea he throws out. If you don't believe that then explain why the veterans bill, written by two republican members of congress, was voted by against by those same two republicans when Obama proposed it! How do you explain that!!
Umm, Obama had the house and the senate with a super majority the first two years and never passed a budget. And yes, when declaring war, Congress passes the appropriations bill to fund it. The president has veto power though. As for taxes, go to Romney's website and read his 5 point plan. It's simply too much for me to list here.
Blocky, you should list the entire bill and all of it's content so people can see what all was in it. There is usually more then just one thing in them.
In not going to waste my time writing the whole bill. It doesn't matter what's in the bill either... The people who wrote it rejected it when Obama proposed it. If you'd like I can copy paste a link to the whole bill.
Then again, Romney could just be the Mormon figurehead for the party. Who knows if he'll actually act on what he said he would. Maybe if he got elected, nothing would happen. He'd just be in the background, only showing up to make speeches and such. But I prefer to place my bets on Obama, who's already had a four year run, and didn't mess things up too bad. He's not a perfect president, but hey, he's a cool guy, cares about minorities, and is actually rebuilding the auto industry and YES he did create jobs. Maybe not directly, but yes jobs were created.
na an extra 6 trill in debt ain't too bad! and hey, unemployment might be up a bit but at least he created some part time jobs! his last term will be much better though.... like he was tellin Putin, he'll have more flexibility to deal after the election.
