the reason i ask is i have 3 cats, all brought up the same. But my female constantly sits on me and follows me and headbutts me for a stroke. But my boys only want attention when your in bed. One even prods you until you wake up to stroke him. Thoughts?

I think it depends on their personality; I've had females that are very homey and loving and others that haven't enjoyed the attention as much. Right now I have a male that is very sweet and always seeking attention

Aww that's sweet! My females would be more loving when they were pregnant, always! And right after giving birth; but I've found the sweetest cats have been male. Very mellow, seeking attention, always purring by my feet lol
