Sorry for not continuing my other stories. Kankat Homestuck©Andrew Hussie *Note: Genre is fiction/fantasy/romance/Insert whatever here. She sprayed the fresh scent of flowers on her right wrist, setting the perfume bottle on her dresser. She rubbed both of her wrists together and paused, taking in the scent, and going back to getting ready. She looked through her small cases of various lipsticks before settling on a midnight black shade. As she applied it, you could see the slight shimmer on her lips from the ceiling light. She was wearing a snow white V-neck shirt, a green and white leather braided belt, and a long, serene green skirt that draped over her legs. Over her eyelids was the matching shade with gold sparkles scattered across. She picked up a tube of mascara and applied it gracefully. Her nails were long and filed, French manicured with accents of lush forest. Green was her complimentary color. It made her unique in the way she intertwined it with her casual clothes. "Everybody has a special style and color." She's a fashion designer. Of course she's right. Her slightly tanned complexion complimented the green, and her short black hair had been straightened so it at least covered her ears. Was it a date? Just going out with a friend or two? She was invited to attend this event rather late, and on top of that, she was running behind with her schedule. Maybe it was personal. She wouldn't know until she got there. Her hand grasped the green lipstick tube that had silver carvings of mythical creatures. She slipped it between her warm skin and between her bra strap. Her piercing, green, emerald eyes darted around her closet, settling on a pair of white, high heeled sandals. She was always cheerful and was probably one of the most brilliant people he had ever met. But alas, with a love-hate relationship, they were throwing each other off with the way they acted. Opposites attract. One choses not to curse, and only uses intelligent words and phrases when she speaks. A swift and graceful fighter as well. Meanwhile, with him on the other hand, he was an arrogant and foolish person. He would constantly pick fights with others. He was cocky, and made rash decisions. Negative to positive. Optimist to pessimist. Could you guess who was who? She could find ways to make a rancid situation better. He could find ways to spot the errors in her ideas. She sharply inhaled as she exited her house, out into the chilly September evening. Her eyes appeared to be like a cat's, but you would guess Nepeta would love to have them. As she continued down the sidewalk, it got slightly colder. "Ugh. Karkat and whoever else has me coming out do late better have an event worth being present for." She sighed, her heels clicking against the cold pavement. She pushed open the doors, and her eyes locked on Karkat.
"Kanaya. You're ****ing late." "You invited me with off timing." she bluntly stated. "Don't give a fuck. You take too damn long to get ready." She rolled her eyes, licking over her fangs. "It doesn't matter. Care to fill me in on why I even attended?" "It's your ****ing birthday, you workaholic." "I dislike celebrating." "So you can't just take a day off for the year that's been added?" he asked. "No. I have better things to do with my time, Karkat." "Like I said, you're a ****ing workaholic." "I'm somewhat social." "Notice you ****ing said somewhat. " "And?" "Just come on..." he groaned, grabbing her hand and pulling her along. She blinked in surprise due to how he was pulling her, like she was weightless. "What location are you taking me to?" she asked. "Dinner, Kanaya." "....But it's late after seven-thirty, Karkat." He blew some of his jet black hair out of his eyes, biting the sleeve of his black sweater. His grey jeans sagged slightly, but it didn't slow him down. Kanaya cringed to the obnoxious squeaking of his sneakers against the mall tile. By then, he got tired of dragging her by the hand, and she was tired of walking like a little girl behind him. She decided to walk side-by-side with him instead. "We have a reservation at eight-thirty." "It's eight-twelve." "Fuck it. We're almost there anyway." he growled, letting go of her hand, feeling a slight red tint on his face. Kanaya glanced at him,"Is that a blush?" "The fuck you talking about? I don't blush." he hissed, pressing his hands against his cheeks, hoping for the blush to go away. Kanaya covered her smirk, walking with him into the cold restaurant. She shivered, the cold air hitting her skin suddenly. Karkat grumbled, pulling her closer. He caught a glance at Dave and Terezi and he held up a sour gesture, scowling. Kanaya pushed his hand back down to his side. "Keep those rude remarks to yourself, Karkat." "But he's an asshole!" Karkat whined in response. "I don't care. Behave. We're in public." she said, folding her arms. A/N: I originally wrote this all on paper, and I'm typing it on my computer. >.< Sorry if the updates are late.
They both sat down in their booth, scowling at each other. "Don't make me wish I never left home, Karkat." "Shut up, Kanaya." he snapped. "Karkles, watch your mouth." she smirked. Her fangs glistened in the crimson lighting of the booth. He hissed at her,"Watch yourself." She smoothed her skirt over and pursed her lips in silence. He smirked at her not replying. "You're making this very unenjoyable, Karkat." "Loosen up," he snorted. "The term 'loosen up' isn't found in my book of phrases." she scowled, kicking his shin under the table. He cringed,"Fuck off." "You started it"- "You two ready to start off with a drink?" Chirped the overly happy waitress, holding a pen and small notepad. "Yes." Kanaya immediately responded, not wanting Karkat to snap at the lady. "What will it be?" "At vodka for me and a bloody Mary for him." "Alrighty! I'll be back in a few moments!" As she bounced off, Kanaya whipped her attention to Karkat. "I'd appreciate it if you quit acting like an ass." "That's the opposite of my goal..." "Then up your manners." Karkat eyed a silver glisten from the side of her collar. "What is that?" he asked, pointing. "What is what?" she asked, looking around. "That thing in your shit. I can see it." "It's nothing." she replied, adjusting her shirt and pushing the tube to the right, considering the side it was on. "No, let me see." he said, standing up and reaching over the oak table. She turned bright red, smacking his hand. "That's perverted!" she snapped. "N-no its not! If you don't tell me, I'll find out myself!" She smirked, but it was coated by a scowl. "You dare do that again and the silver will be the last thing you see. Or could be the problem to you never having children." He flushed, sitting down. "That's that I thought." she hissed, baring her fangs. What a shitty birthday. "Kanaya, at least I'm trying to make you happy." "If you wanted to make me happy, you wouldn't be such an asshole. You would be behaving. You would've"- "Oh, here we are!" the waitress chirped, setting the drinks on the table. "Oh, thank you." "Ready to order some food?" "No, just give us ten minutes, please." Kanaya asked politely. The waitress nodded, bouncing along. "Karkat, pick your meal. I'm not eating." "What? Why not?" "I've had a rancid evening, Karkat. You ruined it." "Kanaya"- She sipped her vodka, holding up a hand. After she set her glass down, she began to speak. "Thank you." "For what?! You just said I ruined your night!" "You got me out of the house. For that, I thank you." He flushed, starting to cover his cheeks. "Don't do that.." she said, reaching over the table and pushing his hands down. "D-Don't tell me what to do." he growled, grabbing her wrists. As figuring out she could move her hands, she cupped his face in her hands. His face grew crimson, and began to feel dizzy... "K-Kanaya..." She leaned over the table, planting a light, feathery kiss on his lips. "Goodbye Karkat. See you tomorrow." She exited the booth in silence, walking out.
Boop! Kankat isn't exactly one of my favorite pairings, and I don't really ship it, but this story is starting to make me want to. ;u; HOMESTUCK FEELSSSSS
