Yes, an Alice in Wonderland fan fiction, with a twist. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 1 I sit there, listening to my sister read, even though I'm not paying the slightest bit of attention. All I can think about is what is going to happen today. I have two solos to play today. Two. And I woke up around six just to practice, then I finally get a break at noon to be resting when I am about to fall asleep by my sister reading the most boring book ever. In my opinion. "Alice," I hear from my sister. "What?" I answer. "Are you paying attention?" she asks me. "No. Can't you just end it already?" "No, I can't. You have to listen to the whole story, Alice." She continues with the story and I close my eyes, laying my head on the soft ground. The grass tickles my nose, but I don't pay any attention. Soon, I don't hear my sister's voice anymore, but I do hear one voice that I have never heard before. "Alice! Come on, Alice. Get up," I hear. I raise my head a little and see rabbit ears. A rabbit? I raise my head up a little more and I see a rabbit. Correction: a boy with rabbit ears. "What?" I ask. "Finally! Now, come! We need you!" he says and stands to full height. He's taller than me by a head, no doubt. I stand and look at him strangely. I was correct, give or take a few inches. He has many wristwatches on his arms, each ticking in tempo. His blond hair is wild, as if he didn't care. And he has such an odd coat on. "Need me? For what? My solos?" I ask. Why would they send a strange boy with rabbit ears to get me. That doesn't seem quite professional. In fact, it seems illogical. "No, no. We need you for-" An alarm goes off, causing me to jump. He looks down at a watch and yelps. "We are terribly late! We must hurry!" He takes my hand and tries to lead me away, but I won't budge. "What are you talking about?" I question him curiously. "No time. We must go. Now!" he says. "Not until you tell me." He sighs and mutters something to himself. Suddenly, I am being carried and the rabbit boy is running. Then he jumps, right into a large hole that seems to never end. I scream loudly, afraid that I will get hurt. "Will you shut your mouth? You are about to make me go deaf!" the rabbit boy says. I close my mouth and look around. We are in such an odd room. Doors in a circle, but no hallways. Strange. And the boy looks annoyed. "Well?" he says. "'Well' what?" I ask. "Never mind," he says and grabs a key off a table I just now noticed. He pushes the key into a lock and opens a door. He waits for me to move, but I don't. "Well, come on, then. We haven't much time," he says. "Where am I? And what is going on?" I ask. "I promise I will explain when we get there. But right now, we must hurry!" He takes my hand and pulls me towards him. Then he pushes he out the door. What a strange place, I think. There are such odd and dark colors. Like, ghostly colors. Dead colors. And everything looks dead. But I don't see any people. With Rabbit Boy holding my hand and leading the way, I gather in the surrounding. The town or village looks like it could have been such a happy place once. With people frolicking about. But, somehow, this place became abandoned. I can tell bright and florescent colors have faded into dark and creepy colors. The only thing colorful is my dress. The beautiful blues and pinks make me stand out, almost like a target. "We should get you some different clothes," I hear from Rabbit Boy. "Why, Rabbit Boy?" I ask. "You stand out. And please don't call me that," he answers, a harsh tone making me want to recoil. "Then what should I call you?" I ask. "I'll tell you later, when you meet the others." "Others? There are others?" "Blood, Mar, Dum, Dee, Mal, Chess, and, of course, Isabelle." All their names sound so different, except for that last one. Isabelle? Maybe she is like me. She could tell me what's going on. I hope. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Going to go ahead and update. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 2 I stay quiet for the rest of the walk. Finally, he stops at a house and knocks, an odd and rhythmic knock. The door opens and Rabbit Boy pulls me inside. I looks around and notice that there are nine people in this room, including myself. I look over at a boy with cat ears and purple hair. It's cute. Not like "I'm in love" cute but "kittens and puppies" cute. He is giving me a sly smile, a half-moon smile, to be exact. Then I turn to look at a young man wearing a hat. A very tall hat, might I add. His hair is fire orange, making me confused. How did his hair turn that color? I look at two young boys who seem to be twins. They are identical and they are wearing the same outfits, only different colors. Then I look over to see a boy with mouse ears. A boy with mouse ears? I figured it to be something like cat boy, or at least a girl with mouse ears. I turn to another boy who looks like Rabbit Boy, at least with the ears. This boy looked crazier, just the slightest. "Alice, it's good to finally see you again," a famine voice says. I turn to see the only other female in the room. She has her brown hair tied back and war paint on her face. She is in camouflage and is staring me down like a meal. "Uh, do I know you?" I ask. "I'm Isabelle. But you can call me Bell," she answers emotionlessly. "Because, if you call me anything else, I'll kill you." "Okay. Obviously you all know that I am Alice Liddell," I say. "I'm Blood," the young man with the hat says. "I'll go in order. Mal is the boy with the mouse ears. Mar is the crazy looking boy with the rabbit ears. You know Bell. Now. Dee and Dum, the twins. And that is Cheshire, the purple haired young man. But we call him Chess. And the boy that brought you here is Pete. And you, my dear," he smiles and takes my hand, "are our hero." "Me? A hero? I'm flattered, but I'm not at all a hero," I say, pulling my hand back. "Not in that," the purple haired boy, Chess says. His voice is quiet, but you can still hear him clearly. His voice is deeper than I thought, making me realize he's around my age. "You need to change into something Bell is wearing." Blood jumps in, clearly excited. "You two look like you could be the same size. I think I can make you something. In fact, I already know your measurements!" He grins excitedly. He runs out of the room, murmuring something to himself. The young man is so odd. He is excited over measurements? "He is a hatter, originally. But, lately, he's been working on clothing," Chess says, as if reading my thoughts. "Oh," I whisper. This cat boy is starting to freak me out. But the one thing that is freaking me out the most is that the other four are quiet. The two little boys are looking up at me. I now realize that they are wearing weapons. Axes. Two identical axes. Everyone is equipped with a weapon. Bell has guns. I mean actual guns. Mar has daggers and knives. Throwing knives. Mal has a sword. Blood left a mace on the table I just now notice. And he also left a whip. Pete also has knives and daggers, along with the one called Mar. I think they are brothers. And Chess has a spear. And that it for them all. "What can you do?" Bell asks. "What?" I ask. "What can you do? Weapon-wise?" "Oh, well, I've just finished archery lessons," I reply, confused. "You have the arms. I can tell. You look like a petite little seventeen year old from far away. Up close, you have a little muscle," Bell says. Then her lips curl up a tad. A small grin. "Bell, did you just smile?" Mar asks. Hearing his voice freaks me out. He has a nervous stutter and now I notice a nervous habit he has. Cleaning. He's been wiping the same table for the few minutes I've been here. "Maybe. She's a girl who actually knows how to defend herself with a weapon. I respect that," Bell says. This causes me to smile. "Alice! I have your clothes made," I hear as Blood runs out of the other room. He's holding a camouflage dress with a headband that is also camouflage. He even has some boots that actually go well with the dress. Clever man, I must say. "I also found some dye that you can use to dye that blond hair of yours. Like Bell. She originally has white-blond hair, but since the Infection started spreading, she dyed it," Blood smiles. "White-blond hair?" I ask Bell. "Yeah. I am actually the White Queen," Bell says, dropping the bomb. What? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Our White Queen. What will the Red Queen be like?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 3 "A queen? Really?" I ask. Please tell me she is just kidding. "Yeah. My sister, Lillian, she's the Red Queen. And let's just say that she has a big head..." In General POV She stands at the terrace, watching her army. Army of the Infected. The woman sighs and walks back into her castle. At first, she passes a mirror. Then she stops and walks back, admiring her features. Her hair has fallen out, leaving the top of her head bare. But, her skin on the top of her head is growing into a crown. A rare advantage of being Infected. "Your Majesty," she hears a raspy voice say. She turns and sees a short little man, hunched over. "Yes?" she asks him, already impatient. "We have knowledge that there is an Outsider here. By the name of Alice Liddell," the short man says, his raspy growing quiet at the girls name. "So," she snarls, "the Warrior has returned." "Yet, she has no memory of what happened last time. The way she defeated the first Infected Army." The short man starts limping towards the woman. "We should get her on our side before it's too late. Send a small unit to get her. They must not Infect her. Keep her as herself, not an Infected," the woman demands. "Lillian, are you sure?" the raspy voice says. "Do not call me Lillian," the woman says, her eyes narrowing and her hand gripping onto a hatchet. Her other and is free, yet near a rifle. "I'm sorry, your Majesty. It'll never happen again. I'll send out a unit right away," the short man says quickly, bowing. He walks out of the room. The woman, Lillian, walks back to her terrace. "We must have her alive. Alice Liddell, the Warrior. The Savior. The enemy," Lillian muses. "We must bring the Time Traveler here." ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Time Traveler? The Warrior? The Savior? What is she talking about?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 4 Alice's POV "Like, a large head?" I ask. "No. I mean, it's growing high. Into a crown," Bell says. "I can't believe that you don't remember." "Remember what?" I ask. "Cut it, Bell. She'll remember soon enough," Chess says. "I know she will." "I just want to know where I am, and why I am here." I look at them all, each glancing at each other. "You are in a place once known as Wonderland. But now, no one knows what to call it. And you are our Warrior. Our Savior. The Time Traveler," Pete finally says, leaning on the door. "What are you talking about?" What are they talking about? The Time Traveler? The Savior? The Warrior? This is making no sense whatsoever. "Oh, give her a little break. She doesn't know. She just doesn't. She'll remember in due time," Chess smiles. "You will. Trust me. By the end of all this, you will have perfect memory of what has once happened." "Alright," I say, hesitating. "But, what am I going to do about weaponry? You all have weapons." "Mal, go find a bow, a quiver full of arrows, and a few throwing knives," Bell instructs. "Yea, ma'am," he says, his voice extremely high. Like an actual mouse's squeak. He scampers his way to the the door and waits for Pete to get out of the way. When Pete does, Mal pushes through the door and runs. Everyone seems to move in sync. Everyone listens to Bell. I understand why. She's a bad ass. But, are there other queens other than Bell and Big Head Lillian? Would there be a Black Queen? This makes me so curious. But, if there is only two, it would be a fair fight. If more, that could be tricky. But, what about who is on whose side? And what is Bell queen of? What about Lillian? "Hey, I have a question," I say. I really need to know this. "And we have an answer," Bell says. "Is there a Black Queen?" I ask. "Yes. One of my other two sisters. She's on our side, but I haven't seen her since last time." "Last time?" I ask. "I'll tell you later," she says, slipping from the conversation. This makes me curious. What happened with the Black Queen? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ A Black Queen? Who could that be?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Chapter 5 Morrigan's POV I watch the house. I have been for the past hour. I'm waiting for my moment to surprise my sister. Suddenly, I see Peter Rabbit and Alice Liddell run to the door. He found her. I grin and I look back at my sister. "Ready, Sylvia?" I ask her. "No. I hate that mouse guy. And I know he is in there. His voice is too high for me to handle," my sister the Blue Queen says. "Then let's wait for him to leave," I say. For another thirty minutes, we sit there waiting. Suddenly, a young man with mouse ears scampers out of their house. "Morri, let's go," Sylvia says. I stand and hold my umbrella made from crow feathers, which disguises my gun, running to the door. "Knock, knock!" I say. "The Crow Queen has arrived." The door opens, the girl answering the door. "The Crow Queen?" she asks. Bell's POV Crow Queen? Morrigan! "Morrigan?" I ask, shocked. "Isabelle!" my sisters call. "We're back!" "Morrigan! Sylvia!" I exclaim, smiling. A genuine smile. The first one since before the very first Infection. Before seven year old Alice came here. "You look different!" Sylvia exclaims. "Brown hair?" "Camouflage. Can't let my white hair bouncing around," I say. "I still let my blue hair bounce around," she replies. "You need to dye it. What happened to you, Morrigan?" I ask. "I got caught by our big-headed sister. While I was there, I got the Blue Queen here on our side. One against three is quite easy. And, we, once again, have the Time Traveler." Morrigan smiles at Alice, who is whispering with Chess. I wonder what they are talking about. Alice's POV "Who are they?" I whisper. "Morrigan and Sylvia, the Black and Blue Queens. Crow Queen and the Cat Queen," Chess answers in a whisper. "The Cat Queen?" I whisper back. "She's the Cat Queen for a reason. She actually can talk to cats. Same with the Crow Queen. She can talk to crows and other birds. But Sylvia has natural blue hair." "Oh. What happened to Morrigan?" "She got captured by Big Head. Must have escaped." "I never knew that there would be a Blue Queen." This makes me wonder. Are all people this different here? People with animal ears for ears? Chess even has a tail. Like an actual cat. Oddly, it seems quite familiar. What am I remembering? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ The Black Queen and the Blue Queen!
